😂😂my poor Louis catching heat again today. Ashley you know how I watch this show? I gave up on these vampires making rational decisions a long time ago. Louis is always going to choose Lestat and Lestat is always going to choose Louis. Lestat chose Louis to be his vampire companion that's a very special bond. There's no way Louis could bear to kill Lestat, just as there's no way Lestat would kill Louis or sit by and let him be killed. Hence the whole drama with the trial. That's why when Louis chose Armand after the fire he knew that was going to destroy Lestat the most because he knew for Lestat there will only be Louis and the same for Louis. And yes, Louis loved Claudia not in the same way as Lestat but he did love her very deeply and went along with what she wanted. Claudia was his daughter and sister but Lestat was his companion. And yes he failed her, he admitted that to Daniel in the interview so he never claimed to be the best father in the world. Go back to episode 4 where he says through the diaries he got to learn in detail when and how he failed Claudia and he's clearly still torn up about everything to do with her. The whole point of the story is hey Daniel, here are all the ways I was a shitty boyfriend and father and lost my child in the process. Louis, Lestat, Claudia, Armand none of these are great people! They're all terrible, broken, fucked up people. Let's give the man some grace.
You're making too much sense. They just want to have somebody to blame they're not willing to blame Lestat, so they're going to put it on Louis. they are both to blame for what happened to Claudia, but they just want to find excuses and excuses to make it all on Louis.
Like I don't understand why he was supposed to choose Claudia. Claudia is also to blame for what happened to herself in my opinion. She was reckless in Paris and Luis tried to tell her in the beginning they should have left.. She should have kept her journals hidden also. Lestat is no better than Luis. At least Luis didn't treat her like Lestat and he did care and love for her.
And they have all been addressed at one time or another.. In this episode Louis pulled a huge stunt, his intention was never to unalive Lestat.. He clearly did this as an act.
@@mysweetperspective tell you the truth anytime I got on your live I'm just seeing Louis is the worst, Louis trash blah blah blah Louis excuses excuses for Lestat like he's always right he doesn't do anything wrong even if you think he's doing wrong it's because of Louis, Louis takes all the shots. I have never seen Louis as perfect because I know he's messy and I love him for how messy he is I don't want him to change too much, what I want from him is for him to stand up for himself I want him to be a part of the game and not be a bystander, I want Louie to be the true vampire that he is but I know that's a double edged sword because when he does his rampage he is going to regret it afterwards he's going to have nightmares and then he's going to be back at being depressed and I hate to see depressed Louis.
Louis slit Lestat's throat to let the arsenic drain out. Louis had no intentions on burning Lestat. Yes, Louis put Claudia first when he stepped to protect her from Lestat. He put Claudia first when he agreed to galavant through Europe in search of vampires. He foolishly put Claudia first when let her joined Armand's group when he wanted to leave Paris after she saw Lestat's portrait. He put Claudia first when he turned Madeline. He put Claudia first when he sought revenge for her death.
Thankyou for this. So many people get basically stuck on the few times that he did in fact put Lestat first over Claudia and even over himself. And then just somehow forget all the times that he did put her first over not only Lestat but also himself. All the times that he genuinely gave up and sacrificed himself and his own happiness, etc. for her. And it's unfortunately often, and occasionally confusing. So I totally agree, and thankyou for saying it. I agree too that he never had any intention of allowing Lestat to truly die. And good on him. He loves that man, that's his eternal companion. He's not just going to stand by and let someone destroy him completely. He let her pretty completely disable him, take him off the board, at least long enough for her to be free and for them both to leave. So ultimately she got what she wanted, and Louis doesn't have to lose what he wants (Lestat). So good on him, for saving his husband. He did also tell her, from the jump and all the way up to the night of, that he did not want this, he didn't like it, he didn't agree with it... I think the reason he went along with it, and allowed Claudia to do as mush as she did do, while playing honey-pot to Lestat, for her. Was because I think he was terrified that if she did fail and Lestat "won", that Lestat would kill her. I genuinely do think that if he really thought she would succeed, he actually would have intervened much earlier. Before she was able to even poison him, based honestly on how convinced and adamant that he was that Lestat couldn't die and he'd just end up destroying Claudia instead, when she first told him about it. And I do think that Lestat putting him in that headlock at the end, and making it seem like he really did intend to allow Antionette to kill Claudia, and that he'd make Louis watch it. I think that's ultimately why he slit his throat BUT I still agree with you on; he did it to let the poison out... I think by that point he was running on instinct. Because it's clear in S2 that he really doesn't know whether Lestat is dead or not. So I think what he did, was take the oppertunity in the moment to do something, that might at least give Lestat a better chance at survival. Without actually knowing if it would for sure work or not I will say though, agree to disagree about the "let her join Armands coven". At that point that woman was in her 40's, child body or not, still his daughter or not. That was her choice to make, not his. There's no letting about it. He didn't have the right to stop her. What I will say though, is that he could have put himself first there and simply left. Possibly even gone back to Nola to find Lestat. But he's Louis, in no world would he have just abandoned Claudia like that, surrounded by "viscous" monsters.
I cackled at that “whatcha gon do”. Louis was on one. You don’t say that to anyone in the South, period. He knows this. Listen, Lestat felt like HE crossed a line when he Apple airdropped Louis from Krypton, so we’re going to hold him accountable for that part of their fight. However, the fight itself was 6/7 yrs of frustration that boiled over between them. It didn’t have anything to do with Claudia. By the end of the episode we see Louis grab Claudia by throat and pin her to the wall. Her little feet are dangling, and she looks more scared of him than she did when Lestat did it. So, folks can quit saying Louis was trying to protecting Claudia…just because Louis framed it that way. Louis wants desperately to believe that he is a better person/vampire than he is, and he wants us to believe that as well. Their little family was doomed from the start because of it.
He's not weak. She just underestimated how much he loved Lestat, and overestimated how willing Louis would be to just allow anyone to completely destroy him. She played with things she didn't understand, tried to use their love and bond like a weapon against Lestat. And unfortunately she was cut by it. Defending and or saving his mate/husband does not make him weak. She just thought she knew it all, and could manipulate Louis into doing anything for her, and it just simply wasn't true. Not being able to kill someone he loves. What I personally hate for her, is that Lestat used her to get Louis. Lestat made her, to get Louis. What I hate for her, is that instead of fixing his relationship with Louis himself, Lestat used her to do it making this attempt outcome inevitable. What I hate for her, is that she didn't just sit them both down and have everyone agree that Lestat can keep Louis, Louis and keep Lestat and that she's going to leave and be free. Because that's all the both wanted in the end. Louis wanted his immortal family of course, but that includes Lestat. There's just no reason why he should just be okay, should just sit back and allow anybody to take away his companion. For any reason. And there's no reason why Claudia should have just assumed, given everything she experienced and watched/saw first hand, with them, that he should just do that, for her. That he could do that, for her. There's just no reason that she should have felt entitled to Lestats life like that, and like she should just be able to rip something like that away from Louis. Forever. I'm sorry but she's the one who miscalculated here, and that doesn't make Louis "weak" 🤷🏽♀

Except for when he would constantly fight with Lestat, for treating her poorly. Except for when he was rejecting, neglecting and freezing Lestat out while she was just free to have her little life journey and do whatever she wanted. Except when he sat back and allowed her to plan for months/years to poison him, and played honey-pot Judas, for her. Except when he slit Lestats throat, instead of just telling her to go on her own, be free, and stay with Lestat. Except when he wrapped Lestat in a sheet (or was it a carpet, blanket??), put him in a box and left the box out for the garbage guys to toss into the city dump. And then except when he was driving off with Claudia while Lestat was left to rot, in the literal trash. But sure, he "always chose Lestat, every time". Lestat is in a box, in the trash, poisoned with a gaping neck wound, and Louis is riding off into the night, destined to leave the whole country. But no, you're right he definitely chose Lestat.
@@-Arkin33 I agree with u. I know many ppl keep saying that he always puts Lestat first, simply bcoz of how deeply they LOVE each other, also coz its stated in the show by a character (Daniel), but if we go by his actions, he did put Claudia first several times, though I think he resented her for making him chose between her and Lestat. However, when it really comes down to it, I think he'd ultimately chose Lestat. Like, when he says to Claudia, "If you were the last vampire on the earth, it would be enough", he did not mean it. And if he did, he either meant it for both Lestat & Claudia or only for Lestat.
@@divyanaik3255 So, this is the thing about Louis and his love for Lestat & Claudia, and honestly just love in general. Something that Claudia never really understood, and something alot of people aren't really understanding (which is something I really don't understand). First, one person can love more than one person at a time. And it does not just automatically mean that they are choosing one person over the other. Loving one person does not mean they don't love the other person. Lestat himself struggled with it, with Louis, because of his own insecurities. But he was willing to essentially share Louis and share Louis' love, with Claudia. He hated it, but he was willing to. Claudia was not. To her, for whatever reason she felt that it was impossible for Louis to love both Lestat AND her. And again for some reason numerous actual adults in this fandom, seem to be falling to the same lack of understanding, or confusion. We're not even gonna get to Armand... But this is primarily why Claudia herself felt Louis "chose Lestat over her". Because he would not and could not simply stop loving him, and love ONLY her. Incapable of understanding that the love a parent feesl and has for a daughter, or the love a brother has or feels for his sister/family is wholly different than the love he/they have and feel for a lover, spouse or partner. Claudia wanted ALL of it from Louis. She could not comprehend the difference and therefore was not satisfied, with the love she had from his as a parent and then also as a doting brother. She wanted the love he had for a Lover/Spouse as well. And it's just not something that he could give her, even after his presumed death. And because Lestat still got that from Louis, and she couldn't, even after "death". She ultimately always felt he was choosing Lestat over her. Still loving Lestat was choosing him over her, still staying with Lestat all that time, was choosing Lestat over her, etc... And every single person, is capable of feeling both and carrying both, in their hearts. At the same time. Now for the beautiful carriage scene, in 2x01. So many people are so quick to discount that scene, or completely disregard what it actually meant. So that they can just call Louis a liar, or say he "didn't mean it" or wasn't being honest. Blah, blah, blah. When the reality is, things like that, who you love, what your heart wants, and who you grieve and how long you grieve them. That is not something that you have control of. Love itself, is not something that a person has control of. Claudia verbally attacks Louis and resents Louis for still carrying Lestat with him, because just like the rest of these characters she has her moments where she's very selfish. All she sees it what it means for her, what a thing can or can't do for her. Louis sheltering his love for Lestat, Louis mourning Lestat, is ultimately useless to her. But for Louis, it's all he believes he has left of someone he loved. And he's grieving a very painful/traumatizing loss... And he has virtually no control over that process, or what shape it takes. But back to the carriage and Louis' speech. His words were for them both, they both needed to hear it. The meaning and promise of which was that as long as Louis is alive, he will not let Claudia get so low that she throws herself into a fire, like the female Vampire did. And as long as she is alive, he wont throw himself into a fire. As long as they're both alive, they'll always have eachother. And regardless of what others want to say, that remained true, all the way to her end. All of it, seeing as how in 2x06 when he was forced to remember her death, he walks into the sun. The knowledge of Lestat still being alive wasn't enough to make him stay, Armand damn sure wasn't. Claudia was no longer alive, so like he says in the S2 finale "what was there to live for". I digress again, in that carriage scene, they both needed to hear those words, but they both knew in actuality it was not true. Because even without Claudia, Louis would always have Lestat. Louis knew that, that's why his mind put DreamStat there, and Claudia definitely knew. It doesn't diminish the meaning of the words, and what they were meant for, in that moment. Don't forget, for those who do go more literal with things like these, Louis does say "if you were the last Vampire on Earth". The implication being if they never ever find other Vampires. Except she's not the "last" Vampire on Earth, and they do find other Vampires. Ones that Claudia herself wastes no time choosing, over Louis. For all the people who just like to completely ignore that part. The point of it was, which they both accepted and essentially promised to is that they would be enough for the other, they would tether eachother to life IF THEY NEVER FOUND OTHER VAMPIRES. Which then led to them BOTH finding companions in others. But she accuses him of "you and him", but she made the active choice of "me and them" and then "me and her". Anyways, last but not least, pertaining to that scene. Jacob himself confirmed that Louis so badly wanted that to be true, he wanted to convince himself and believe it were true. But again, it's just not something Louis has control over. He's not intentionally lying or anything like that. I think more people need to use comprehension skills to be honest. Because fortunately the creators and writers of this show do not treat us, the audience, like we're stupid. Like we need to be directly told, or spoon-fed these things. They allow us to use our own perceptions and our own comprehension skills to find and take in and understand things, ourselves. Something which is pretty much lost, on people who are so used to simply being literally told what they're seeing, what they're feeling and what to think. The reality of Lestat still very much being in Louis heart, in that moment has no bearing on the meaning of his speech, or his reason for saying it. Lestat will ALWAYS be a part of Louis, whether he were dead or not, whether they're together or not. He will always be an intrinsic and quite literal part of Louis, THAT DOES NOT MEAN that Claudia is not a part of Louis as well. As it's been proven, time and time again, since the night he carried her home, to the very end of S2 where we see Claudias dress immortalized forever in his memorial display.
I think Louis loved Claudia, but the source of the love was completely self-serving and selfish. It came from depression and issues with himself and she was just there as a band aid. The act of turning her was an act of total selfishness, not unconditional love. Until he accepted himself, like truly, I don't think he is capable of unconditional love except Lestat.
Louis ALWAYS put Claudia 1st ---- WHEN it came to making her a sacrificial lamb 🔪 🩸🐑!! She was the 1st to get that 🥾💥🙅🏽♀️ whenever Louis got a new man or hobby in his life!

@mysweetperspective Dracula on Netflix, vampire diaries, true blood and original. But I do think that IWTV is superior with the writing, The acting everything about this show is great, but I do find it tame
Why was Lui's love supposed to be more for Claudia? He loved her more than ANY of them But he also loved Lestat more which is understandable. He made him LOL. Lestat was and is Luis's love of his life and vice versa. She wasn't his real daughter LOL. Why is all of the good that supposedly was supposed to happen put ONLY on Luis? I am equal opportunity over here... If you watch my other reviews, everyone gets the business. My biggest issue with Louis is that he feigns piety, as if he's made all the sacrifices. He is the whole reason Claudia was forced into this position. He is at the height of selfishness, the difference between him and Lestat is that Lestat owns it.

This 😩
lol Oh lord what did louis DO now 😄😄😄😄 but he is BS....Thank you Ashley keep commenting I love your perspective on all of it🥰
I loved Claudia she was such a great character.
Louis ALWAYS put Claudia 1st ---- WHEN it came to making her a sacrificial lamb 🔪 🩸🐑!! She was the 1st to get that 🥾💥🙅🏽♀️ whenever Louis got a new man or hobby in his life!
I can't believe it's over already until the new season 😢
Thank you!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!! Louis hemmed up Claudia the same way Lestat did! That episode 5 was just bs testosterone flares! Lol!!!!
Exactly!!
Yes he did that wasn't called for louis a SIMP
@@rhill3611 yup! He used that as an excuse to go ahead and take his frustrations out on Lestat. He didnt think Lestat could whoop him tho! Cause Lestat never did anything to him. He allowed him to do whatever he wanted to do in that relationship. Thats why he got slick with his words, when he said he was gonna cut his head off... Then gone say, "What you gone do?". Lolololol. Now folks mad at Lestat cause they were looking at all of the wrong things. Lol
@Pooobaihr23 Louis is a monster that is true, but there's no way Louis vegan ass think that he could beat Lestat. What he think is that Lestat wouldn't hurt him like how he did, he under estimate the pain Lestat was feeling.
Louis wants to be good he wants to think of himself as good, and he has been failing at that and that's why he look at Claudia as his Redemption and yet again that turned out bad even interview with Daniel it's just him wanting Daniel to say hey you're not that bad but until Louis learn to love himself he is no good to anybody else which is the same for Lestat but I love their chemistry and I never watch this show because it's healthy and I'm expecting vampires to make moral decisions I'm expecting them to be immoral and compared to the Vampire shows that I used to watch these vampires are very tame.
OOOH, what other vamp shows are you watching??
@mysweetperspective Dracula on Netflix, vampire diaries, true blood and original. But I do think that IWTV is superior with the writing, The acting everything about this show is great, but I do find it tame
Louis only put Louis first. 💔
Incorrect.
They all made bad decisions. How is Lestat getting all of the passes but Luis is the bad guy. Luis was caught in the middle and didn't want to kill Lestat but Claudia did so she did kill him but also left him alive because burning him would have been getting rid of him forever. Luis did love Lestat more and that is perfectly fine.
