I love this floor plan! We've been looking at toy haulers and the wife is really turned off by the garage area. She says it just doesn't feel very cozy. This solves that problem as we're only hauling one dirt bike and a couple e-bikes. The back patio is a huge bonus! Finally, manufacturers are listening to their customers and thinking outside of the box with better layouts.
I have a toy hauler. When I'm not carrying a quad, I have a really nice rug and some very comfy chairs that I put in the back. It's a wonderful flexible space. Even if I wasn't carrying toys, I would definitely want a toy hauler. I have an extra refrigerator back there, and a nice TV. It's a great sitting room where we can sit around the outer edges and face each other. Don't discount toy hauler. Use your imagination how you could use that big open space.
WICKED!!! The perfect blend of Motorcycle hauler with bunks for guests and for when the kids get older. This is my Grand Design 2800BH but with a Toy Hauler!!!! LOVE IT! Just needs a new fixes: 1. Aluminum frame not wood. 2. Second door for bedroom like the 2800BH. 3. Raise those crazy dump pipes, holy they are extended down low! 4. Add an optional awning to the rear deck 5. Ditch the two burner stove and use a Blackstone 17 or 22 gridle like many trailers are doing. Either way, still an amazing combo!
Nailed it Tim! Not a huge fan of the only door coming in and out is right by where the kids would be sleeping. I'm sure you could install some sort of umbrella on the patio to solve the problem of not having an awning.
I like the concept. The adjusting bunks are genius. As a single woman who is looking to be a nomad, I would like for there to be a door between the patio and the garage side so I wouldn’t have to close it up every night. Luckily my truck (2021 Nissan Titan) won’t tow this. I love love love the black stainless. I’m also hoping more 2022 models come up with more solar. 100 watts is nothing.
What an awesome area to sew! I saw one with twins a long time ago and loved it. This one is wonderful! I’m not sure about full time living but wow! Thank you.
We have this camper and love it. But two things that don't make sense for me is, one no vent fan in the bedroom and two the awning needs to be at least two ft longer past the door. When it rains you can't leave the screen door open without rain getting in.
Hey Josh!! We bought one😁😁😁 absolutely is a DREAM!! Beautiful inside and out , love how we can leave fresh water tank open while we drive so all the water can slosh out. It has the 2 gray tanks one for kitchen one for bathroom. The only problem so far is the shower faucets don’t work like regular sticks and bricks home. You have to turn faucets outward but hey you can get use to it. The furnace is great and hot water heater will last for about 17 gallons if you are hooked up to electric and the gas at same time . 😃 Really a great model sorry we didn’t get it from you guys 😞 but thank you for doing a video on it have a great day 😁
I am really considering this unit. Wish that there were door for that porch. A Blackstone in place of that stove outside would be amazing. Bathroom is tight but something we could live with. Agree on bedroom outside door that would be great since when slide closes off the room when closed. The wires you pointed out...that is definitely something they should have covered.
It's the catch-22 of giving people information! There are some models that do well nationally, but struggle to find success here. Sometimes I think those extra bits of info we point out work against in that way But we do just fine overall so I'm not worried. I'll just keep the info coming!
A wall between the garage & living area even if it means adding a extra half ft-1 ft of length to do this.Ideal to carry one motorcycle in half garage. More toy haulers & 5th wheel toy haulers need a full 10ft garage separated by wall for 2 bikes & TV entertainment center across from theater seats in living area. Also washer, dryer area.
I can't help but think ones that are designed to have a back deck and not be a toyhauler should have an awning to cover said deck from the factory, so the deck can be covered *and* everything is designed so the travel lights and backup camera aren't obscured. Otherwise, I quite like it. Also, come to think of it, it wouldn't be too difficult to setup a water supply and drain for a washer out on the deck under the space for the TV. Then, one could just strap down small washer in transit, use the washer on the deck, and then deploy a clothes rack either on the deck or in the shower for drying the clothes. The average person probably wouldn't have to worry about that sort of thing since there's a good bit of storage, but for those who do, it's good to have options like that. The only hard part is figuring where to put the washer when the deck is up....
Thank you Josh. This is the perfect RV for me and my two dogs. Plus the toy hauler area is perfect size to take my adventure motorcycle along with me. Awesome.
Not sure how I missed this video. I caught your Hank Hill reference ('propanist') 😆I like this mini garage since my Harley doesn't need that much room. Good job as always.
Literally been waiting for this floor plan!! Finally combined a rear bath with a toy hauler! Outback 335 I think got close but used too much space for the garage, this is perfect!
That cargo space is scream for futon battle fort mode. So much to like in this most of all it's a giant fluffy family trailer that isnt 40 feet and 14000 lbs. Give me the super slide sofa from its fifth wheel cousins and it would be perfect for me.
Those tie downs in the garage by the bed is for you to to tie down your buddies who have had one to many drinks so that they won’t roll out of the bed 😹😹, the shower gets a 👎, your humor gets👏👏, keep’m coming, also in Texas we say the same thing about the weather.👍👍👍👍 on everything
That's Thunder Snow Josh and Ohio is just as bad for weather. It was 49 this morning when Sadie decided that she needed to potty outside - add mosquitos to that scenario and well I'm over it.
Wow Josh this is the first usable toy hauler....that doesn't feel like a toy hauler!!! I'd be all over this! Quads dirtbikes now can fit and come with you! The only thing it's lacking is clothes storage for the bunks. But man oh man. I'm in love I'd seriously consider buying this!
I love the basic floor plan of this unit but sadly I think the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Let’s start with the exposed wiring you noticed. The fact that it went out that way sends me a signal that quality and attention to detail are lacking. Loose dangling wires in a bunk likely to be occupied by a kid!! Yeah it’s an easy end user fix but now I’m wondering about all the stuff I can’t see. I would narrow the bunks a bit and widen the bathroom allowing you to add some storage in. The kitchen needs a lot more storage. The cabinets above the sink and stove need shelving in them for example. All that height is wasted otherwise. A part of the problem is the location of the outside kitchen which takes up available space right there. If they relocate that back to where the pantry is that frees up space for more drawers and more kitchen storage. Also what’s above the microwave that they can’t open that up? There also should be a pop up counter extension at the end of the kitchen counter. With the outside kitchen in the pantry changes are needed there. I’d put in shelves like what Grand Design does with the 2800 instead of that pantry. Because one of the big problems with a “walk in” pantry in a trailer is that the standing space frankly ends up being wasted. I’d also like to see a drop frame up front and a perhaps a more finished off pass through storage. Though there is a good argument to be made for how it is now in terms of opening up more space. I don’t like the sidewalls on the slide out. Once again it says cheap and cut corners to me. If they are going to offer an “enhanced” solar package in a 12v fridge unit it really should be capable at a bare minimum of keeping the fridge going. There is almost no storage in the bathroom. That’s a major fail. Install a door in the bedroom to allow access when the slide is in. I’d also like a much longer awning. From behind the rear most window to just past the front door they need to add. I’d personally remove the power stabilizer jacks. They add weight and maintenance issues. That sink in the outdoor kitchen strikes me as useless. I also really don’t like split dump stations. Other RV’s with this general layout manage to combine them. All in all I see huge potential in this design. Storage for bikes and the like are a perpetual issue in family oriented bunkhouse trailers and this concept really does solve that problem with very few compromises.
Love this camper! Can you get 3 season doors for the patio? This could be my perfect mobile art studio…with a coat of white paint and generally de-browning.
Not from the factory, but those can usually be added aftermarket HOWEVER... When the ramp patio gates are folded in they occupy the little bit of space between the ramp door and that entertainment hutch. So those walls are physically not compatible with this RV (unless you removed the patio rails)
That outside kitchen... steaming veggies on one burner and boiling pasta on the other (which I totally would) I’d be concerned about the heat from the back burner damaging the fridge. Or maybe it’s further than it looks.
Thank you for being honest about the tow vehicle. Half tons, in general, are a poor choice for this trailer, for all the reasons you said. So many dealerships will say, “Sure your F150 can pull this” just to make a sale. And for some reason a lot of people get butt-hurt over their 1/2 ton not being “good enough”. As someone who trailers regularly and watches 1/2 tons swaying back and forth, I want to say, “thank you, Josh!’☺️
so far my 2019 f150 ecoboost 3.5l with max tow can handle towing my 27pack10..with 2014 h.d ultra limited straped in .blue ox max track w/d hitch and airride air shocks ..so towing 11000lbs is no problem with a half ton if your spec it out right
Very nice travel trailer! Looks like it’s well-built but the few extras I agree with, tuck in the wires away so they don’t get hung up. That’s were Rockwood and Flagstaff does an exceptional job.
I think we have seen this before but everytime i see it I like it more. This would be amazing for heading to the dirt track as I can stick the full sized pellet grill, generator, and mountain bikes for getting around the track and other campsites. The bathroom access is great and something i look for now (thank you for educating me about this) If there was a complaint I could make, i am not a fan of where the drawers are in the kitchen. Josh.. I'm actually impressed. You got all of them to dance.. Seriously, I really like this model and will be considering it as my next toy. But, I'll need a slide topper and I'll be adding my generator and more solar panels and Battle Bourn batteries. See you soon.. 😎
A roll down screen wall could likely be upfitted in place of the tent/screen wall that's already on this RV Three seasons walls cannot fit on this RV though. Not enough room to close the patio rails and ramp if one were present
I actually love this floorplan 85%. The used rig I bought from you guys this spring made me realize I wanted an outside kitchen and me being afraid to load my quad in the bed of my truck made me realize I want a toy hauler ha ha. I was window shopping for 5er toy haulers and realized with my 2017 f250 diesel, I'm still very limited to what I can safely and legally tow which knocked basically all 5er toy haulers out of the picture due to weight. One of the main gripes I do have with this floorplan is that I wish it had another door in the bedroom because when the slides closed you can't get to the bedroom at all. I would gladly sacrifice the window up front on the camp side for a door with a smaller window just to cure that problem.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I'm also curious to see how the flooring under the "garage" is constructed/will hold up over time with a quad in there during trips being that there could be a lot more weight focused on one side of the trailer. I'll definitely be coming back to Bish's when I'm ready to purchase my next camper 👍👍.
@@s_hassell97 For that I would point to the used market and see how many toy hauler garage floors are failing. In all the years I've seen RVs I think maybe ONCE I've seen a garage floor with any sort of decking issue?
On the backsplash/side splash I wonder if your service/parts team could order those magnets from Cherokee and the result would be a side splash? Another terrific walk-through my friend.
Suggestion: Move the outside kitchen to the ramp using the back wall of the shower. The space where the outside kitchen was could be reclaimed by kitchen drawers and an in-wall dresser in the master.
If I am picturing this correctly that would directly conflict with an already reduced loading space and potentially even conflict with the lower bed's "down" position Maybe I'm not understanding the suggestion though
I love this floor plan! We've been looking at toy haulers and the wife is really turned off by the garage area. She says it just doesn't feel very cozy. I want it to feel like a full timers home!!
A roll down screen wall could likely be upfitted in place of the tent/screen wall that's already on this RV
Three seasons walls cannot fit on this RV though.
Love hearing from owners like this. TY for taking the time!
Pretty cool, versa camper. Ty
Cool layout. I wish Rockwood made it.
They'd make amazing toy haulers. I'm shocked they haven't broken into the market beyond a little geo pro
Weather like that, I like to say with a thick English accent "Lovely weather we're having for this time of year! Don't you think?"
lol - I see we have similar ways about things
On the backsplash/side splash I wonder if your service/parts team could order those magnets from Cherokee and the result would be a side splash? Another terrific walk-through my friend.
Oh sure. We keep those on hand usually. I'd love a dual placement setup
Could the manufacturer maybe have put a door on the patio side of the bedroom for overnight access in travel mode??
theoretically possible, but they didn't allow for it in the current design
Awesome floor plan, but yep my Toyota Sequoia won't pull that, lol
yeah no lol :)
Suggestion: Move the outside kitchen to the ramp using the back wall of the shower. The space where the outside kitchen was could be reclaimed by kitchen drawers and an in-wall dresser in the master.
If I am picturing this correctly that would directly conflict with an already reduced loading space and potentially even conflict with the lower bed's "down" position
Maybe I'm not understanding the suggestion though
I like the addition of the outdoor kitchen to this year's model but I don't like that the door covers the window!
