Hey mama, I'm so glad this recipe works well for you, but I just wanna warn you that overusing those scent beads is HELLLL on your washer!!! They leave a residue on the inside after each wash, especially when used in a cold cycle, and if not cleaned regularly or used excessively can cause your machine to be damaged and require major maintenance or professional cleaning. You may want to consider cutting down on them just slightly, and running some sort of washing machine cleaner through your machine once or twice a month to help prevent that build up! Otherwise you may be in for a costly replacement or repair bill much sooner than you'd normally need it 😱
Similarly, they help retain that scent on your clothes via a similar build up of a microscopic film which can leave clothes much more flammable! You can look up several dry cleaners/laundry professionals demonstrating these phenomenon. I love scented detergents and softeners too, but cutting down can be a worthwhile compromise if it could work for your family!

I make laundry detergent for my farmers market, but all natural. I'm a soap maker, so I make hand made coconut oil soap bars with essential oils and then I grate them with a cheese gater. Then add it to a box of baking soda, box of borax, and then add more essential oils and mix! Only takes two TBS for a large load. Then I add a 1/4 cup vinegar into the fabric softener area. It's a great option for those who want all natural detergent and it works great! Find a local farmers market or soap seller and ask for a bar that's for dishes and laundry (too harsh on skin)

Not to mention all of the artificial fragrances and blue lake dye that is harmful for our health in the long run!

Another way to save is by only using a couple of teaspoons or tablespoons of regular detergent and it will clean our clothes. I read we use way too much and because of they formulate it so concentrated that is all you need. A big reason machines need to be repaired is because of the buildup from the detergent.

Try removing the baking soda from the formula. Borax and baking soda do essentially the same job-removing odors. Make sure you wash your darks inside out as well. If you have an HE washer remember you don’t use the same amount of detergent as a standard washer. For a regular load it should only be no more than a quarter cup of powdered detergent. Also don’t put the scented beads. They create a wax film on your clothing. If you want liquid fabric softener use distilled white vinegar. I have never had my clothes smell like vinegar after washing. If you’re concerned you can always add an extra rinse cycle if your washer has that feature.

      Wrong.
Baking soda is a weak base and here is a filler.
Borax is an alkaline water softener.

Wow. Years ago I was watching people make their own laundry soap. They would shave the soap and mix it up not dry though. Oh this is easy. I can do this I actually have most of the stuff..
    Thank you. Wow ☺️

Here in Arkansas we have Edward food giant and they sell detergent base. One is can blanca, mainly used for white clothes but i think you can use it on any color; then there is the zote, the pink bar is the best but you have to shave it; there’s also foca and then Roma. They sell them in 10 lb bags for under $15. I get a bucket and mix them together it’s great. It reminds me of old school detergent and smells so good and has V long lasting effects on my clothes and i don’t break out with my skin condition. I spend about $30-40 for 6~ months worth of detergent

Thank you! I use every product you grabbed now I will use them together as a test
They will all dissolve because they are relatively soft powder items they don't have the texture of tide powder, so there won't be any clumps. But im.sholl.gon try it!! Thanks for the life hack!!! Blessings

I would love to try this for our family of 7, just curious how it smells without the scent beads. They make us itch and breakout. Right now we use the Perisil Intense Fresh pods and Clorox Laundry Sanitizer. It is gentle on our skin and our clothes feel super clean and smells absolutely amazing. It lasts about 4 sometimes 5-6wks so it gets pricey. I just need that clean, fresh feel and smell.

Depending on your washer, detergent needs to have a he stamp to prevent damage and build up in pipes and the washer itself

Because it's so considerate do u use like 2 table spoons ? I had a neighbor who did this and that's how much she used and it really worked. Her husband worked at a ship yard and the clothes came really clean

    Landry Recipe plz

    • @abbylynn8872
      @abbylynn8872 ปีที่แล้ว

1 box Arm n Hammer Washing soda
1 box 20 Mule Team Borax
      1 large tub Oxiclean
      1 lg box Baking Soda
      1 box Zote flakes soap
As much scent beads as you like. She used 2 bottles from Sam's club, so you know they are big. I woul start with 1 max and see how you like it. I'm not a scent Brad person.
... another option is to get 1 small box of your favorite scented detergent and add that in.
      Mix well
      Happy New Year
