    We have used Teaching Textbooks for a lot of our middle school math levels. Ohh, "Pirate Pat"! We have that same Usborne reading library! They've worked well.

    I like these type of videos! It's so helpful to look at things before purchasing. And I love that you broke them up by age!

    We loved teaching textbooks for my older 3. They actually tutored at our co-op. You can tell they really care about the kids.

    We also love Teaching Textbooks! This is our 1st year and next year both of my girls will be doing it. We did MathUsee for a few years but now that we've tried this, we don't plan to go back.

    Thanks for sharing the math activity books! I saw those and wondered what they were like!

    Thanks for all these great ideas! I’ve been looking for some new things for my children to occupy them while we are stuck at home all the time. We homeschool but we are almost finished with everything. Add in the fact that we aren’t doing our homeschool community or really can’t go anywhere and you have some bored kids......and mom! 😂

    Can you do a video showing how you do science with apologia? I am trying to set up for next year and would love to see how a veteran uses it!

    Every time you mention the pie game I think we need that for our toddlers! I definitely should just order it. We also like the into the forest game, I think based on your suggestion. We have quite a few others of your lists and I always appreciate your favorites lists!

    Wow this was such an amazing video of ideas! My son will be starting kindergarten this fall so I've been watching tons of videos and came across yours. I love all these ideas! Thank you for putting this together! I will definitely be adding some of these to my list of things to buy!

    Can you make a video showing how you organize your homeschool stuff? I love all the games you include and curious how you store everything- do the kids have access to it all the time, do you rotate, etc.

      I store it all on shelving that John built for me in our utility room. It's organized by games, puzzles, preschool/toddler toys, sensory bins, and crafts supplies. I have another shelf for nonfiction or unit study materials so I don't lose track of what I have (I double purchase often thinking I don't own something). They do not have access, mostly because I don't want pieces to be lost or things to fall on them, however, when they ask specifically for something, I most often say yes and bring it out, so long as it wasn't something that caused an argument or they're growing tired of. Essentially, I rotate what goes in our warm up bin (I have a video on that) weekly.

    Do your kids write in the activity books, or do they do it aloud or on a different sheet of paper so you get more use from it?

    • @RootedinRest
      @RootedinRest  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We write in them. They have stickers and mazes and such, but they’re less than $10 so it’s not a huge investment to make again.

    How do the My First Leveled Reading books line up with All About Reading?

    • @RootedinRest
      @RootedinRest  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We’re about halfway through level 1 and he is using the first level readers very easily. He knows his vowel sounds so I’d say that’s the reason he is able to read them well. It gives him more practice and he enjoys it.
