I mostly just watch AG videos and don't collect. Stumbled on to AGtube sometime last year and it brought back childhood memories of looking through catalogs at stuff we could not afford. Finally went to the store just to see the dolls in person, Dallas store. Seeing Claudie in person might have been the motivation I need to finally make a purchase.
Wow - you visited the Dallas store after its upgrade? What an amazing first store to visit, based on all the pictures I've seen! And yeah, Claudie would do it for me, too!
I appreciate so much that you shared your little one's unbridled joy whilst also respecting her privacy. Truly makes the world seem a little brighter whenever I see small ones just being kids. An ever present joy 💖
I can't go to any stores myself, so I live vicariously through tours. These will be tough times. I wish safety and happiness for your whole family and anyone you know
The Pizza Hut scene is still my absolute favorite. It’s just so nostalgic for me, and I love the way they transformed the cafe set into a pizza restaurant.
Your family is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this trip with us. I totally understand the conflicting feelings -- I'm very grateful that you choose to share joy with us anonymous watchers. :)
Loved the video. So much to see. Two images that will stay with me. #1) Your daughter holding up her Bitty Baby so she could see the display. That is the photo that AG should replicate for every catalog. #2) Your daughter dancing (not only dancing like nobody is watching but dancing like she couldn't care less if anyone's watching). Thank you for sharing your travels with us. It's a special gift.
Oh, thank you. I'm currently getting plenty of watching her dance this morning - ballet class followed by Frozen and Bluey "Floor is Lava" videos on youtube lol. Her dancing always brightens my day.
thank you so much for sharing this with us 💖i live in Bowling Green KY .. Nashville is the only store i’ve been too .. & i love it for the space it is. they def could use some more inspiration on a few of the displays , but loved seeing the Christmas displays .. they did some really cute scene’s with the snow effect understand the heavy hearts ..sometimes i wonder where is it coming from?? but getting into the doll world about a year ago has brought me so much JOY 🫶☪️ one day i want to get to the Dallas store 🙂↔️
Yeah, I think one of my favorite displays was the one with the 106 wearing glasses and decorating the Christmas tree. All those paper doll ornaments were so cute! As for the heavy hearts...I know exactly where it comes from for me.
I truly enjoyed your video ❤ Nice to get my mind off worrying about what's going to happen in our world. I'm so glad you got to go to the Ag doll store with your sweet family. 😊 It's just so much fun.😊 Thank you for sharing!❤
Oh, I'm glad. That's why I'll keep on making videos - because *I* need that pick-me-up and distraction and because I know they fill that need for others :)
Great tour! I liked your comparison pics and commentary. 👍🏼 And I appreciate that you are honest to us in how you’re feeling lately. We have to hold on to joy and a fighting spirit. We have to believe love wins. ❤ *sending hugs*
What a great video! (I don't have many of the 'big ticket items with the exception of Julie's bathroom; got it on FB Marketplace for $20, and it was only missing a few of the accessories.) It was so fun to see all the dolls and displays close up, even if some details were missing. I agree, Claudie always seems to get short shrifted, which is frustrating! Her story is so good, it should really be amplified. It was great to see how much fun your little one was having! Going to a store like this would have been my dream when I was her age. I'm glad you were able to go and that it brightened your spirits. 💕💕💕💕
I'm glad you enjoyed seeing everything in detail - I know a lot of people don't have the option to visit a store ever, so I try to film enough and photograph enough to do it justice!
Thanks for the store tour!! I know it was a tough time to be there, but you made such a positive out of it! I love yours and Grace’s attitudes! We may hate the situation but we can’t give in to them. It’s nice to have our doll hobby and our loved ones to bring us sunshine in this period. I’ve never been to the Nashville store and was never at the Columbus store so I love the comparison! I’ve been to Chicago, New York, LA (both the old and new one), Dallas (old one) and had been to Houston twice before they closed it in 2023. I had also been to the KC store. I’m sad that so many of them are gone, and I need to visit the new Dallas store in 2025. I’m about 4 hours from it. Thanks again for this video!
The Christmas displays are among the best! I love that staircase, too…I wish AG would sell that photo as a play backdrop as I’d totally buy it. The snowy scene with the spray snow looks so magical.
I'm happy that you were able to glean at least a small amount of creative energy from the tour of the Nashville store! You are so fortunate to have such a beautiful family! ( I'm trying to stay focused on what I am grateful for!) 😊 Thank you, I've never been to a store!
Thank you - I've always enjoyed the stores so much and know how blessed I am that I get to see them when so many don't get to, so I am happy to give as much detail as I can about each one I've visited.
Thanks for the detailed store tour! ❤ I know it’s not something you can do often anymore, but I’m glad you were able to visit another store! I don’t have any luck with dolls AG sends me in the mail - I literally exchanged my #89 twice for a good one when I’d ordered her! - so I definitely understand the allure of picking out your own dolls.
But I have to say I was pleased with the ones they had in the store. Of the Annas, 125s, and Claudie mold pink stardust dolls we looked at, all of them were really pretty with no big issues.
I didn't realize how spoiled we were with the Columbus store wity how big I would think Nashville is compared in size as a city. I found a friend who has been and is willing to go with me to the Chicago one. I'm nervous to go alone in such a big city! And even though I have it... seeing Pizza Hut display always makes me happy. It's one of my favorite things AG has made! On the fallen Christmas tree, it has the Elf on the Shelf... so thinking it was like a play on a kid coming down to their mischievous Elf knocking the tree over... I snickered!
You know I did wonder if that was the intent of the Christmas tree. Two things - a little paper speech bubble with the doll chastising the elf would have made that clearer, and also...that elf would be shipped back to the North Pole if it tipped over our tree lol. You'll LOVE the Chicago store! If you can go at a time when they're less busy, it's a good idea. It can be a bit overstimulating when it's packed :)
Thank you so much for this tour of the lovely yet small AG boutique in Nashville. I appreciate as my local AG store closed (North Point mall location) and this one is about 3 and a half hours away. It’s highly unlikely I’ll be able to travel there and by the time Id have the capability to get there, it will likely be closed seeing how AG is closing the boutiques. The Charlotte NC store is about the same distance from me 🤔🤔🤔 I have been to the now closed one at the mall I mentioned and I also was fortunate enough to visit the NYC store in 2019. I appreciate the pictures of the displays from the old Columbus store and the Nashville store you provided! ❤
IDK it I'd call it a boutique - it's a decent size store, generally speaking. But yeah, it *is* pretty darn small compared to the other three I've been to. I'm glad you enjoyed all the pics and details. I have a playlist of store tours that includes one from Chicago and a bunch from Columbus if you're interested in seeing more :)
This was a great video and I really needed the big dance at the end, as well I've never been to an AG store, but Nashville is the closest to me, so it was good to get your impressions.
As far as selection, I think they had as much as the other stores I've visited - just more compact with fewer displays. Getting to look through the dolls (and pick out your own) is really special.
Thank you so very much for such a wonderful store tour. Wow, yes Nashville store looks so tiny compared to Columbus store. I really loved the Pizza Hut scene. I'm so glad you guys were able to hand pick the dolls you were wanting to get (Great Choices BTW)
Thanks - even when it's the smallest AG store currently in existence, getting to go to one is still a very special experience and I'm glad we went back in that Monday morning before we headed out of town. Being in the store when it's mostly my empty is my favorite :)
@@agtakesover I miss our store, and I'm hoping to get to a store some point next year. I'm so glad you and Grace got to go and enjoy the store for a weekend.
I’ve been obsessed with Kit since I was 11 (the day she came out). She’s still my favorite doll! Your daughter needs Kit! You live in Ohio after all, just like her. 😊
Love seeing you tour my “local” store! I was there this past summer and then they had a huge Claudie display with her bakery front and center as you walked in the door. Disappointing they took it down.
So they apparently do have a display for her that I overlooked. I don't remember if it's her bed or her bakery, but I think the latter. Maybe it's the same one you saw but they just moved it to somewhere where it was less noticeable. I was so happy to be wrong in this case because that means they DO have a display for her (as they should) :)
Nope, they sure don't. Isn't that crazy? When our daughter was littler, she could NOT steer that thing at all lol. That's why we found an older version on Marketplace. It's cute, but not functional.
¡Hola! Thanks so much for the video I do enjoy it so much this kind of videos since I have never been in AG store. This time is extra special because you have bought goodies for me. I did enjoy the experience with you girls 💜 It is necessary to be emotional now a days- It is a reminder that we still care about our loved ones and the world. Thanks for sharing, stay well! PS: Is Emerson coming for Christmas?
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I always appreciate your kind word. Also, Emerson has been living in a box in the basement for YEARS, but the little one will get her for Christmas this year lol. We bought a bunch of Wellie Wisher stuff (some new, most used) a few years back and have been slowly doling it out to her on different gift-giving occasions.
The displays are sad! Poor Claudie! She has really been neglected! Was she allowed to sit at the lunch counter? Love the video! I wish we still had a store out here( WA). Glad you got to go to the Nashville store!
I have to believe I somehow overlooked a display case with her - I mean, she has her luggage, her scooter, her bed, her dog...plenty of items to build a display around. I hope I just missed it. I'm sorry you lost your store. That sucks!
Charlotte is pretty small, too. Orlando isn’t huge, either, and neither was the former Atlanta store. I’d love to make it to Nashville before they close, but I won’t hold my breath. 😅
The employee I spoke with felt pretty confident they were safe. But I bet the Columbus folks thought that too, until they were given the news at Thanksgiving that they'd be shuttered around Valentine's Day :(
@ yes! I enjoyed it immensely! I never really realized that displays wouldn’t be spectacular. No hate to Nashville, just a few were awkward and seemed repurposed. Like selling dog treats in the middle of a creek. lol.
Thanks for the tour! We went this past summer after losing Columbus and I told my husband I don’t see this store surviving if Columbus wasn’t worth renewing the lease on. It’s a sort of sad little mall and just wasn’t worth coming to the area for us. 😭
The one in Franklin was a sad little mall? Oh, it didn't feel that way at all to me. Maybe it's because Santa was already there and folks were in Christmas shopping mode, but it was pretty bustling on the weekend.
I don't know how it compared to Scottsdale because I never got to go, but of the 4 I've been to, Chicago was biggest, followed by DC (Tyson's Corner), then Columbus, then Nashville.
The amazing displays is one of the things I miss the most about being on the same coast (and nearby) the NYC store. I still haven't made it to the flagship store on THIS coast yet, but I hope that if/when I do, they've displays with 'writing AGIG' about! ;)
As far as flagship stores, I've only been to Chicago, but I can't imagine any of the flagships having lackluster displays. I'm sure it's AGIG-worthy ;-)
I’m so happy you all were able to get to go to a store and have a good time. It’s so cute seeing the peanut have so much fun. I really loved the Nanea beach scene, the twins’ Pizza Hut scene and the Christmas scenes. I really wish I had the space for Julie’s bathroom. And boooooooo…no Claudie displays - shame on you ag store.
Your favorites are my favorites, too. And I have to believe (hope!) that Grace and I both overlooked a Claudie display. At the very least there should be a scene with her bed. Mel is going there soon - I'll have her double check :)
Somehow, I think Santa is going to come through with Emerson. Four-year-olds tend to have that special magic twinkle in their eye that makes the thing they want magically appear. This is a very interesting tour. Obviously, I’ve got Chicago. This is this current reincarnation of Chicago it started in a four-story next to Ralph Lauren‘s restaurant And that place was packed to the rafters. It was very little room to move around and because everything was there and that was when people were walking out of this with three or four super large shopping bags then when Lord and Taylor went out at Watertower place. Had more floors of merchandising and in the current store now I believe we’re down to three. but this is really when they’re gonna make their money this from this week until the end of the year and even through Valentine’s Day this is when the majority of their year is made.
I'll say this here because she can't read it - we've literally had Emerson hiding in the basement for YEARS. We have a lot of secondhand WW stuff we got a while back and we held it all until she showed an interest. Then we started giving it to her incrementally on different gift-giving occasions. There's still a lot down there, but Emerson is the last *doll* to bring up :)
I hope they don’t close. They closed my Atlanta store so I’ve gone to the Nashville store multiple times since then. It is a small store compared to others, but I’m grateful they’re open! I’ve been to the Charlotte store once and it’s really nice. Nothing compares to my Atlanta store.😢 I had Julie’s bathroom but sold it. It’s a nice set, but I had no use for it and it took up room. I do wish the Nashville store put more into their displays. Out of all the times I’ve been to the Nashville store, I haven’t seen a Kaya display like that. They have had her with her teepee before, but she is usually stuck in the corner on a side wall where they stuffed Rebecca and Melody. It’s sad.
It's interesting - one of the employees was new there (like one month in) and she said her childhood store was the Atlanta one. She also told me the Nashville store hired the old Atlanta manager. Small world! I'm sorry you lost your Atlanta store!
I'm a bit confused - you wanted to see the Bitty Baby but can shop the website? You could always shop the website, right? Maybe I misunderstood something.
Also, Kaya is usually over to the left of Rebecca, tucked into a corner. It's not a lot, but she does have the same size display as Rebecca and Melody in addition to the glass display box.
OK, so you go to the Nashville store often enough to tell me - is there a Claudie display that I overlooked? (not the one on the left side when you first walk in, but like a separate case - maybe with her bed, or scooter, or luggage?) I feel like there has to be and I just overlooked it. At least I hope that's it.
I mostly just watch AG videos and don't collect. Stumbled on to AGtube sometime last year and it brought back childhood memories of looking through catalogs at stuff we could not afford.
Nothing compares to my Atlanta store.😢
I had Julie’s bathroom but sold it.
Loved your tour but wanted to see the Bitty baby display but can shop the website. Not to take away from the great tour. Thanks😊
I'm a bit confused - you wanted to see the Bitty Baby but can shop the website? You could always shop the website, right? Maybe I misunderstood something.
The displays in Charlotte are also sad unfortunately :(
Oh, that's too bad!
Nashville is definitely small, and the Columbus scenes are much better!
Also, Kaya is usually over to the left of Rebecca, tucked into a corner. It's not a lot, but she does have the same size display as Rebecca and Melody in addition to the glass display box.
Also, my husband always thinks it's funny there's no men's restroom, just a women's and a family restroom. 😂
I had never even noticed that, but when I mentioned it to Grace she was aware.
@@agtakesover There is! When you walk into the store, to the left of Nicki & Isabel's sleepover display is an Angelo's Bakery display under glass! ☺️
