Just one note. You don’t need to fully remove the grub screws that lock the threaded plate in place. You can just back them off a bit to release. This saves having them potentially fall down inside the mechanism or getting lost.
i reccomend EVERYONE who has a skywatcher mount do this. since i found my RA gear bearing so badly lubricated, that i had to use a bearing puller and a sledge hammer to disassemble the slip fit. Im considering just making a new one from scratch at this point.
This is a really nice instruction! I'm having a slight problem with my clutches not locking the two axes - so I'll definitely do what you've done here. I like that you're emphasizing the sequence of each part, making this video a good reference for later (when I probably forget said sequence)! Also, small note - you're calling the screws with Allen sockets "Allen keys". You wouldn't look at your door lock and call it "a key" ;) I'm used to calling them "Unbrako screws", but I guess "Allen screws" is just as good.
I have a similar issue, my DEC clutch does not engage and the DEC axis cannot be rotated 360. Were you able to fix the issue with the clutch? Your experience will be a great help for me.
@@erangafernando471 You simply have to follow the video here, and disassemble the whole mechanism. Try to remove grease from the surfaces that are supposed to engage with each other when you lock it. It's a fiddly process to get the pressure on the worm gears just right.
How did you manage to get this part off at 7:59 I really can't ! I manage to unscrew 2 out 3 the three screw but this last one is really getting on my nerve. Did you pull it off easily ?

You need a 1/16" (inch) Allen key. All nuts, shafts and Allen keys are in inches.
