They sound pretty similar to me but of course the 112j is slightly clearer and defined. Thanks man, I'm definetely buying the 012.

Looking at the specs on online the only difference I noticed is the body material. 012 has Agathis and 112j has Alder. The price difference is about $60. Thanks for the video

just found a VERY DUSTY but mint condition Yamaha Pacifica PAC 012 at the local thrift store for $25.
It's in a Cherry red sparkle .... not a scratch or ANY signs of wear or usage!! (Even the pick guard is in MINT CONDITION!)

I think that the Pacifica Guitar Range from 012, over 112.....311....5 and 6 hundred is one of the best Guitar Lines ever. It was issued first 1990 and even the cheapest 012 is already very good,
perfect shape, good Sound versalety, and nice to Play. I have one 012 and a 311.

Nice video and good item. I have been wondering the difference. To me pretty same. If I want to have a budget guitar I think both can do. Maybe the amp makes bigger difference ...a beginner hardly can/will buy those boxes behind.
Вживую играл на 112, звук у нее подрайвовее, в 012 чересчур сухой, собранный. Но разницы практически нету, норм бюджетка, качественно скрученная.
У 112 чуть больше середины и плотности но 012 удивила - не намного уступает. Качество Yamaha как всегда на высоте.
I have an old 012 (made in Taiwan), and to be honest, I wasn't sure whether to sell it or not (I was wondering if I should replace it with a higher grade one).
Looks like I won't have to sell it for a while.
And I knew I was right about buying it.
I don't use a coil tap, and the 611HFM I have separately can't be armed.
I think the one of the differences is due to body wood.012 has agathis and 112 has alder.Many Fender guitars are made out of Alder.Agathis is a cheaper alternative of Mahogany.

Literally zero difference sound wise
The differences affect the playability and the tuners. I wouldn't expect a big sound difference. I'm more curious about the player's experience.

I have a Pacifica 612V (mk.1). It must have been made on Friday afternoon! I've had to do a lot...and I do mean a lot... to make it a comfortable guitar to play. I would swap it for a brand new Pacifica 112 and not feel at all guilty...in fact I'd be relieved to be rid of it. It looks fabulous in its Orange stained finish...but the neck and action are still pants...ie: too thick and still not as low as it aught to be...serves me right for buying on-line.
And what do you think about de pac012?

Sí, es un poquito no más la diferencia, por el tipo de madera usado en el cuerpo, y el clavijero también es mejor, pero igual el de la 012 no está mal; en todos los video que he visto dicen que no se desafina como las demás guitarras de precios similar de otras marcas.
Aquí estoy en el dilema de si comprar esa 012, o una Ibanez RG131DX.
¿Usted se compró la 012?

@@renesaldanastlw Pues es una hermosura y el sonido me encanta. Solo que me gustaría que pesara un poco más, porque me parece que es muy liviana para mi gusto, aunque según entiendo en ese tipo de Guitarras es el peso aproximado en todas(estoy acostumbrado a las Les Paul).
De momento estoy contento, la calidad se ve y se siente. Es fácil tocar, las cuerdas no vinieron tan altas, pero sí le bajé un poco la altura.
Te recomiendo ver videos, para que oigas más o menos como suena. Viene con 2 pastillas Hambucker Infinity, que es el tipo de pastillas que me gusta a mí.

Both sound pretty decent...but i think if you can spare a few extra dollars...I would step up to the 112v which has better Alnico 5 pickups I believe.

Everyone has varied Budgets and 'Priorities'. So I still stand by my Statement.
The Pacificas are great Guitars....even at the budget level.
I disagree. The 112V has a pretty dumb layout, to swap out the humbucker, you have to remove not only the pickguard, but also a separate mounting ring. Also, the push-pull makes the tone knob really cheap feeling. Guitar Fetish sells Alnico pickups for about $25 each. You could customize the guitar exactly as you want it.

@@Slushpuppie55 "Better" is relative. Better for what? Better how? J & V are just different. A. tonally -ceramic vs alnico. Not better. Just different tin output and tonally. Right tool for the right job. B. V has push-pull split on the humbucker. J doesn't. V also has body mounted humbucker. J doesn't. Undeniably both are great guitars at their respective price points. I like the tone of the J too. Not buyer pride as I actually own 612VII, 311H (PUP modded) and x2 112Vs (x1 PUP modded) along with a few others including Revstars.
Same pickup = same tone

Can't really seeing that making a real difference. Alder ismore expensive and may age better (don't know) but couldn't affect sound imo, especially for a bolt on neck guitar.

Кокрас выбор был между EG 112 и ERG 112.
Я тогда не умел вобще играть по этому продавец играл.
Первая звучала боле красивее а вторая боле роковеи.
Выбрали вторую.
Но вот с комбарем не удачно получилося ибо тот помоиму назывался Yamaha GA10. И на нем было не достаточьно дисторшена. Хотя в то время за деньги нашы с мамои Mesa Ractifier не купить было ;)

Now I've been told to get the 112 because it has a alder body but has its my first guitar would it matter that much or get the 012 just not sure

@@yasmin-qx4kx No site da Yamaha tem um sistema de comparação. Lá só aparece a diferença de madeiras e o tipo de tarraxa. A 112 é die-cast e a 012 consta como 'covered'.
Eu vi vídeos aqui no YT e não achei que havia diferença de timbre que valesse a pena optar pela 112, que é bem mais cara.
Edit: Comprei a 012 na cor vinho e estou mto satisfeito. Só troquei as cordas porque prefiro a .010.

MY GUY....IVE HAD THIS SAME QUESTION FOREVER.....and my research will help you :) so....they both feel and sound EXTREMELY SIMILIAR but the erg has a thinner neck...if ur a beginner and dont use tremolo bars then erg121g....its cheaper and easier to play...BUT if your gonna buy the gigmaker(the one which includes erg121c) then Dont buy it....its cheap but its not worth it....the amp in it is thrash and its worth 1/3 of the price they charge...the amp cable is weak and sometimes doesnt clip in to the guitar properly...the belt is made very cheaply and the extra strings are fake....its not really worth it

Just a question: I may have found a used 112 for around 120 bucks...Sounds like a good deal, but how to tell it's not a 012? Is there any particular detail to look for, like a serial number on the headstock?
Look at the tuners, on 112 they are look like circle.
012 has covered tuners and 112J Diecast. In 112J the pole pieces of humbucker can be adjusted. Hardly any other visual difference. I find these pretty equal in beginners use.

Для меня 012 как-то собрано звучит., 112 чуть звук размазанный. Не знаю может это только на мое восприятие звука.
У 112 почему то небольшой нестрой , хотя во время записи этого не было слышно да и я постоянно подстраиваю гитары. Поэтому кажется что она чуть размазано звучит.
012 чётче звук за счёт меньшего количества обертонов. На 112 хуже читаемость нот,но сустейн лучше. На перегрузе разницу заметит не каждый. Если 012 по удобству игры не хуже 112, то незачем переплачивать !
Oye tú tipo perdido que no sabe cuál escoger, si quieres un sonido más brilloso ve por la 112 si quieres algo más rústico tipo rock o metal vete por la 012 son muy muy muy parecidas y créeme que la diferencia es casi nada

Ну я же вроде нормально надёргал) вообще это зависит от многих факторов. Для регулярных и сильных дерганий есть floyd rose.

Если не хочешь тратится на усилитель бери в комплекте. Они по звуку похоже, разве,что у 112 дерево корпуса получше,но для рядового юзера это будет не так важно.

Разницы вроде бы кроме конструкции нету,тут уже на вкус и цвет если есть деньги то можно и 112,а так если ты новичок то и 012 тоже хороша в некоторых есть комплект с Комбиком.Удачи с покупкой

@@ВячеславЦирковцев хоть я и опоздал на 4 месяца - все равно отвечу, на 112 стоят колки получше, и корпус из ольхи, у 012 колки максимально дешевые и корпус из агатиса, разница в колках заметна даже на видео если сравнить)

@@eric_t123 They have good color combos, but yeah, they're built a bit cheaper than the 112j, and I didn't like the neck as much, it was thicker than the Yamaha's.

I wonder what this means to the quality of the guitar, as opposed to what it probably means to the quality of the guitar...

It doesn't make any sense to outsource the manufacturing to different countries with a slight different models.
Most or maybe all of pacificas are made in Indonesia which is great.
I believe the China made ones are the EG112 and EG212. Never buy those, China's male population aim to violate your wives cause they would never find one for themselves.
I have 2 PAC 012's, one is 2007, and the other is 1992. Both were made in Indonesia.
