I love Kuro so much for the contradiction that he is. He's fast and strong, but if he's surprised even once he seems to forget how to move. He's not completely stupid, but he thinks he's a genius, despite being "Kuro of the 1000 plans". Bro, if you're a genius, you don't need 1000 plans, you just need one good plan and a good mind for contingencies. He thinks he's a way bigger deal than he is, and it doesn't help that he's just competent enough that he's fooled the world into thinking he is, too. Which, if he hadn't, he never would've needed this convoluted retirement plan in the first place. Everything about him is some degree of exaggerated or just plain untrue, even though he believes his own hype completely, which is why he's such a good contrast to Usopp, someone who lies, and knows he is lying, but who is actually a way more genuine person than he realizes.

The reason why Luffy is angry at Kuro is exanctly that: Kuro was tired of his name and scared about a life of constantly running away, but he is still a pirate, he never ceased being one and probably would not cease in the future either; Luffy doesn't question one's decision to stop being a pirate, but he's questioning the "ways of being a pirate". That's why he says his (Luffy's) ambitions are greater than Kuro's. 😃
A fact about Jango: Oda stated in an sbs that his goatee actually is a mushroom that grew on his chin and he eated the said mushroom and thats how he gets his powers. Oda was probably drunk while thinking this.
A lot of more casual enjoyers of OP that watch like any other shounen series go on about what they like about fights. Others of us like to talk about why everything that's led to the confrontation is what gives the fights the hype they have.
I don't mind that Kaya doesn't shoot because right after she drops the gun Usopp picks it up and doesn't hesitate and still Kuro evades the bullet. So in my head him standing in front of Kaya and pretending to let his guard down is not just demeaning in what he's saying but also because he knows there's no way she can hit her even if she were to pull the trigger.
You know the navy soldier that Captain Kuro stepped on his chin was Captain Morgan, Helmeppo's father in the past... Captain Kuro is actually a strong enemy, but he has his own ambitions and doesn't care about his men and considers his men as tools to achieve his goals, which is contrary to Luffy's principles.
Almost half way to the love it or drop it moment of One Piece. Episode 37 is the first moment where if you don't love the show you should consider dropping it. Episode 278 is the final one. If you do not love One Piece by that episode you have to drop it because nothing after that moment will be good enough.
Remember in the manga when the hypnosis chakram straight up just _impales_ Luffy in the back of the skull? And he just... _yanks it out_ and walks off the blood gush like it was no big deal? Good times

everyone has a story that shaped them into who they are today. the same applies to the Characters in one piece they all have Depth and it will be fleshed out in a back story. if they are important enough which lots are

I was wondering. I watched many reactors for this. And each time --> I don't know if their are enjoing bad guys like this Captain Kuro, or not. For me, he is as pleasant to see as our main heroes. Great in his role and cool to watch. But some reactors says "I hate this guy", with digust... and I don't know if they just hate his actions... or also hate seeing him as a character on the screen.
