    Just love watching the progress of LRZ in this team. Such a hard worker, feet on the ground and talented. Fantastic family support around him and much of the UK are watching the progress of this. You can see Nike / Adidas signing him up soon as well, he has the image for it and lifestyle.

    Great rugby player. I think the NFL is attractive to a lot of young rugby players. Rugby is a sport that is governed in a very bureaucratic fashion and most of the money goes to the national unions. The clubs in the UK don't attract large crowds often enough to pay players like the NFL can. LRZ probably sees a lot of years left in his career and the opportunity to achieve retirement money in just a few years. I think LRZ will do well. The NFL just acquired a great talent.

    He was one of the fastest rugby players in the world. He was the type of player that when he had the ball in open space, the defending team just stopped playing because they knew they wouldn't get near him.

    He also knows American Football and its little details. His Dad is a mad NFL fan and he grew up with the sport. So with his professional history and his in depth knowledge of the game gives him a massive edge over previous people swapping sports.

    Rees-Lightening! LRZ has every chance at making it if he is given the opportunity. I think the major advantage he has is that he is coming from a professional, high level, environment where he knows that there is a level of expectation and has had to deal with that previous. He has played in massive, filled stadia and knows how to live and conduct himself as a professional athlete so a lot of the things that hold other back and become a weight on rookies or new players are hurdles he has already had to deal with. The british accent and pearly white smile wont do him any harm either, ha ha.

      @TheTouchdownWithDougSmith Like a lot of people, especially rugby fans, certainly in the UK; the interest will be perked up in the NFL due to this high profile and recognisable name moving to the US to pursue the 'American dream'. As a former rugby player and fan of the NFL, it has definitely increased my interest even more to see how he goes as he is almost breaking the mould. As I said, he was already a pro, knows what it's like in a pro locker room, knows the expectation of a number of fascets within the professional game that exist in many sports, including the vast increase in money and the media etc so the things that overawe and overwhelm new professionals is not something he will be new to. He just has to get up to speed with things that make NFL different from rugby like the pads and helmet etc. But, run hard, run fast, evade tackles then get up and do it again; he has that part down or will be used to that part. Now, just do it regularly in Kansas instead of Gloucester.

    • @WalesTheTrueBritons
      @WalesTheTrueBritons 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @richard1403 so you are foreign on the your own island are you? The term Welsh is a Germanic term meaning Romanised foreigner. When in fact the term British was coined by the Romans and Greeks for the people the English call Welsh. Everything about Wales is native to Britain. The term Welsh was adopted by the people of Wales for one reason - because they think they are getting one over the Englishman when in reality he’s getting one over on you, after all he’s getting your nations history that goes along with the term Britons and British into antiquity. If a battle between Roman and Briton occurred in 200CE, who do you think a foreign would believe the battle was between? They’d think it was England vs Rome wouldn’t they, when in reality they would be referring to the people of Wales? After all they call themselves British and you refuse to. Do you see how saying you aren’t British is not only wrong but the abandonment of your nations history?

    • @WalesTheTrueBritons
      @WalesTheTrueBritons 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @simonjohnso5208 I’m not one of them, I know my nations history and where the terms of this island originate from. I’m not going to stop saying I’m British because the English also claim such. I will however point out the origins of why both use it.

      Wrong. His father played in the European Football League and LRZ said he is his hero, learned from him and watched American football on TV live late at night in Wales and on TH-cam. He was a fan of American football long before seeing an actual live game. Thought this was the time to try out while he had reached almost all his goals in rugby. Had been coming to the US - Atlanta- for three years to work with a coach there. Your welcome.

    It will be interesting to see how he develops. He's coming from an endurance sport, his 24mph was recorded 72 minutes into an 80 minute game. He probably run about 4 miles already along with being tackled and tackling multiple times. If he can trade stamina for power he might get even faster
    One problem with Rugby being so close is that he will have a lot of instinctive behaviour over years of play which are wrong now.
    The other players from Rugby have said what they found hardest was the small stuff. The instinctive stuff

    LRZ grew up surrounded by nfl through his dad playing for nfl in the uk, although rugby was his sport he was always geared towards nfl, watching it from a young age and also his dads real aspirations for LRZ were for him to play nfl in America hence why LRZ has been training in America for the past 3 years behind the scenes whilst also playing top rugby for wales and Gloucester, it’s his dream and I will bet he will make a massive impact
