I cannot wait until people start using some of these new AI programs to clean up and refine covers like this. You see what they did with the final Beatles song, no doubt it can be used to good effect here. Every last thing Elliott was recorded performing should be blessed with high quality versions.
@@jeffbrown-hill7739 Sure, it's raw and real as you say, but if it had been a crisp soundboard recording, would you wish for it to be a low quality one instead? I think not. The circumstances of how it was recorded are solely due to the person who made the recording, not anything directly related to Elliott's playing. I wouldn't want his playing to be changed in the least, but to have some of the noise removed and things to be "cleaned up" wouldn't detract from it at all.
You guys are both right. Too many people are trying to polish turds (quality-wise not Elliott-wise) when we just need to spiff them up a bit. Technically I didn’t use any AI for this vid but when I do use it, the principle is the same - don’t aim to get a soundboard recording from a 20 year old live cassette, but make it more listenable
I understand the wish for a cleaner, better recording, but the point of music is to covey mood, truth, beauty etc. Usually that comes-and goes-with the warts. This recording, warts and all, gets the job done, conveys Smith and his take on Dylan in that one moment in time. I think wishing for “enhancement without subtraction” on this one is likely a fool’s errand. My view is: Listen and enjoy!
I love the shirt Elliott's wearing in this picture.
He’s singing it just like Dylan did in the 70’s on his Rolling Thunder Revue. Pretty cool
Bob and Elliott 🖤
Thank you so much for uploading this!

No thanks. I'll take raw and real Elliott any day over some AI-"enhanced" Frankenstein bullshit.

@@patrickc8391Oh yeah, for sure. You don't need AI to clean up a recording, though.

I hate bob dylans voice lol. This is awesome
youll come round
Try listening to Nashville Skyline. He quit smoking during that period and his voice changed for a while, haha
BOOOOOO 👎👎👎
His voice works better for this song than Elliott’s. This song needs more edge
Drink some alcohol you might be in the wrong realm
