Not a good city for internationals. Even the TU Ilmenau residential dorms don't treat international students well. They are bound to limited dorms and don't get residence in many hauses. Throughout your study, you are alone and only get friends with your home nationals. No diversity in anything, even study programs.

I had in general a good experience while studying here in Ilmenau
