I’m on my 3rd winter with mine for a 10 gallon tank and it works fine so far. Turns on and off like it’s supposed to. I just put one of those sticker thermometers on my tank and it keeps it a good temperature. I’m sure it’ll wear out at some point but I’ve got my money’s worth outta it.
Had one of these for a few months, can't tell the warmth or if it works. it feels cold to the touch (Water) i never see the red LED come on. but my fish is alive, (Betta) i sometimes catch the red LED but dont feel a difference in warmth might need to buy a thermo
One of the worst heaters I've ever used. Bought three new ones and within two months two of them jammed ON and heated the tank to over 110F killing everything. I would choose any other brand/model over these.
Hey Tony.. I like those little heaters.. I agree they are cheap but they are all you need. I have found my "good" heater blow out just as fast. Great vid.. good info.. stuff many don't think about. Have a great hump day! I love that you are back and loving it.. cause I am!
HuuuUUUmmMMMP DaaAAAAaayyy! You are right, they sure do get it done for little investment and even expensive heaters can fail. I do need to get a power shutoff for my reef tank though in case there is an issue with the one I have in there.
haha..love the H-day! The only heater issue I've had is them dying on me and leaving my fish cold. But that's the best of two options.. die or fry..Fish are pretty tough and can take a dip in temperature better than a fish fry. =D
Thanks man. It's coming along. Because it's out in the garage, I want to hang curtains or make something that will hide away some of the supplies i keep on shelves
is the water supposed to feel warm? i plugged mine in and the water is completely the same maybe cause im in florida? it heats for a second and then stops i have two and they both are doing the same
Omg did you just ask that? No they dont sell those just to amputate your fingers and kill your fish. Of course everything is waterproof and not dangerous
Ok I’m confused. I plugged to test it and nothing happens. My family me never said that the water is warmer than the one the fish is in his old bowl. Which I believe is bc they added a new amount of water to get it in this temperature. Does it control water or do I need to turn off and when is getting cold i turn it on. I’m new to the fish world.
The red light on mine keeps turning off and on for like 3 months and the thermometer says the tank is at 50 Ps. The thermometer works I tested it yesterday.
We so you have to leave the heater in for at least 30 minutes without turning it on and then you turn it on or what I really don't understand please help me AKA right back to me.?
You should let it acclimate about 30 minutes before you turn it on so it doesn't shatter any glass. If you turn it on while its super cold it may shatter the heater.
I bought one never seen it turn one once. I’ll be switching to my old one. Just wanted to try a smaller black heater instead of my big grey heater which doesn’t blend in well. My old heats up a lot possibly burning my fish
I've checked the temp in my tank with this heater and it's not the right temp it should be. It turns red and then turns off after five minutes or so. I don't know if it's the heater or I didn't do something right.
I use the same heaters in my quarantine / med tanks, seem to work well. Review was nicely done. What editing software do you use / recommend? Being that you're in the industry your opinion carries some weight. Also many thanks for the sub, you are #500, big thanks for that.
Maximus Aquatics yea for being your #500! Congrats. I have found these to be a solid little heater. Software depends on the type of computer you run. So far, I keep the edits very simple so that the process doesn't keep me from wanting to make videos....since I already spend my day doing them. 😁 I use an old MacBook and Final Cut Pro X for these. It's really fast to edit and export with it and there are a lot of great plugins to make titles and other things very easy while looking professional. I tend to use FCPX at work to because of the quick workflow, but also have Adobe Premiere. Really though, if you plan what you are shooting, you can use just about anything that gives you 2-3 video tracks to work with. Some videos I even edit with iMovie on my iPhone. I started in editing using Pinnacle software and it was limited, but got the job done. iMovie on a Mac also works well. It's really about getting the elements you need. A good audio or narration and video to cover it.
I bought this, didn’t work, tried figuring it out, so I kept moving the cord it’s self around and that would be the case because it would blink on for a second as I’m moving the cord but then go off again
It depends. J run a cold house to save money in winter. Water temp is almost equal to air temp so if your air is too cold for a tetra the water is cold. I just got a heater in a tank with Barb's and tetras and danios it's running 65 in my room right now I decided it was too risky. Didn't lose anyone at that temp but use your judgement.
I’m starting a 5.5 gallon tank, and I bought this heater. I’ve been seeing a lot of reviews about this product overheating. Does anyone have any advice on how to prevent this? Should I just use a different heater? If anyone knows another heater that will work well in a small tank, please let me know!
Jenn B. Return it. I found my 5 gallon almost boiling tonight because of it. Thankfully only plants in it currently. Get a fluval heater. I’ve had one in my 40 gallon for two years with no issue
ChrisS4 ChrisS4 idk my heater turns on the light and heats but then turns off and the water becomes hella cold so I have to unplug it so it warms up the water again
I bought 1 like that and I plugged it and it never went off. The heater stays on and it went all the way to 85F so I unplugged it. Thank God I waited not to add fish to my 6.5 gallon aquarium.
Hi, i was wondering if your tetra heaters have condensation inside the glass compartment? i have a tetra heater and mine has condensation but is working fine
+bruh broski 3 out of my four different brands of heaters have some condensation in them. It used to worry me, but I haven't had further issues with any of them yet
It's doing great. I just took it out 3 days ago because I'm getting rid of a bunch of tanks. Now that my pond is complete, I moved the Guppies out to the pond and don't need the 5 tanks I was experimenting with breeding them in.
+SkidMark133 it is called hornwort. If it dies...it's a pain as it sheds needles like a Christmas tree. :) if it is healthy, it grows like crazy and you'll be thinning it out

Creative Fish Studio yes i have a thermometer. it’s pretty close to 80 but it’s cold when i touch it, but sometimes when i touch it, it feels warm. i’m getting my betta on saturday, should i worry about the temperature or let it be because of what the thermometer says?
I honestly don't know about Turtle tanks. As long as it stays submerged, has 10 gallons or less of water and needs to stay around 76-80 degrees F, it should work.
Creative Fish Studio okay i wanted to send you a picture of my Turtles tank but I'm not able to send it here in TH-cam and the reason for that is because I'm not sure of how many gallons my tank is
Creative Fish Studio I too have the same problem i bought it fron walmart tonight unboxed it plugged it up and the light never came on and its worrying me idk if the water is to cold for my baby RES and i dont have a therometer
jahmel dixon try making a boll or cup of cold water to see if the light comes on to heat it up. It may be that your tanks is already warmer than the 74-78 it tries to maintain.
It's a safety precaution. If you put a cold heater in a tank and turn it on right away...it's possible that the glass could break. Same with when you remove it. You are supposed to turn it off and let it cool before removing it.
Hey could someone help please? I bought a starter set for aquariums and in came a pre set heater. Its not even heating to the clamed temperature. But I alredy use the other parts of the set so I cant get it changed out. Is there a way to increase the set temperature at least a little? Mine is a little under the necessary temperature for my fish in a nano tank. They are alive and eat and all, but I still feel uncomfortable keeping them one Celsius beneath what they need. I could not find anything and I have been researching for days. I would buy another heater but it would not fit into the shape of the tank. Doas anyone have an idear how to change the temperature of a pre set heater? It's a tetra pre set 50 watt
MadGirl BitchingBoutStuffs if you can’t adjust it, you should set your room temperature higher, I had the same problem. Unless there isn’t enough watts for your size of aquarium?
@@Yommasandy well, it's my bedroom and I don't want to cook myself 😅. It's 50 watt for 10-15 liters. I don't believe power to be the problem. (Don't worry its a small Fisch that only becomes 2cm. I would not keep anything else in such a small puddel. And its only for the fry anyway. ) The heater makes 23 Celsius but the fish need 24-28. I think the problem will slove itself in summer but what can I do in the winter? I wonder if there isn't a way to change the set temperature at least a little? I know that you can hack it to be set on all the time but what if that gets to hot? Urrrg why did Tetra put a pre set heater in my set... thanks for the reply!
MadGirl BitchingBoutStuffs fair enough but usually preset heaters do fine when the room temperature is actually room temperature. My room has the biggest window so it gets about 15 degrees celsius in the winter, the tank heater can’t provide enough power to keep it at where it’s supposed to be because the temperature outside the aquarium is too low. I’ve never bought a tetra heater so I’m too sure about how to hack it and such but honestly, i bought a marineland adjustable heater for about $30 canadian and it’s way too good against competition for it’s price range. It keeps my 9 gal at 27 degrees, turns off when at the right temperature and has a thermometer built-in if you have to buy a new one.
@@Yommasandy I would buy one, I already am using a good one in my 60 liters Tank. But it would not fit inside the bowl😅. It's round. Im only having it because mum won't allow any more. Otherwise I would have already bought a different one thats better suited. Even if you don't know how to hack these thinks I still wanna thank you for replying! It's much appreciated. Do you think that one degree Celsius too cold is a problem or that it's still in the 'not animal abuse' range? Because I honestly rather give them away then keeping them too cold. Im still rather new to this hobby so im not sure.
MadGirl BitchingBoutStuffs no problem! and your fish should be fine with a 1 degree difference but any lower would be not acceptable in my opinion, a little too cold for most tropical fish
I'm guessing that is because it may be warm enough. You should look into a thermometer to check the them. You can get a $1-2 one that sticks to the inside of the aquarium or what i use is an infared temperature gun. It was like $14, but I can use it to check the temp on a lot of things.
This is the worst heater ever. First one didn't heat water over 72 degrees so I got a replacement. Same thing for the second one.. Looks like I'm not the only one also.

i might return it and get a different hearer
Mine did the same thing
Mine too! Wtf! It’s always cold in the tank 🙄
My red light wont cut on. I bought two brand new at Wal-Mart both domt turn on or heat up. Whats going on. I tried all plugs in my house.
I got that little water heater you pulled out first in my 1 gallon betta tank it works awesome and it doesn't over cook my betta and Tetra

do I need one for 5 gallon tank for tetra neons fish how many fish can I get 5 to 6 great video please respond

Jenny Star I have an acrylic tank an I've used this heater for a long time with no problem.
Hey bro can I put 50watt or 25watt in my 1 gallon tank?
So this heater would be OK for my 2 gallons sick tank. ?
You can't use an infrared thermometer that way, glass reflects IR around it, you need to tape something matte and point the thermometer to it.
I just bought the same heater
hey i just got one of these and it heated my tank to 92 F overnight. do you think it could just be a faulty heater?

no lol
The red light keeps turning on and off. Will this product crack or explode or something??? I'm nervous of having it in there and it not working

What wattage would i use for a 10 gallon ??
I used a 50 or 75 watt. Most thermometers say what size tanks they are good for.
10 watts a gallon
GunXMetal37 50 watts
Will this make the water too warm if I put it in a 1.5 gallon tank?
It would be a bit big in that size. They make small flat ones that would be better for that size tank
What about turtles
You don't want glass ones for a turtle. They make a 100 watt turtle heater that has plastic around it for $17. amzn.to/3uHpeGY

And its only for the fry anyway. )
The heater makes 23 Celsius but the fish need 24-28.
Im so sad that i didnt bought this, its cheaper than aqueon one
My red light turns off on mine in about 30 seconds any reason why?
Have you checked your tank temperature? It may just be turning off because it only needed a little bump to stay at the right temperature.
Creative Fish Studio I believe it's about room temperature but the only time I have seen it on is when I first plug it in
I'm guessing that is because it may be warm enough. You should look into a thermometer to check the them. You can get a $1-2 one that sticks to the inside of the aquarium or what i use is an infared temperature gun. It was like $14, but I can use it to check the temp on a lot of things.
@@MilkyBar756 so ik its been 3 years it does the same thing 2 me
This is the worst heater ever. First one didn't heat water over 72 degrees so I got a replacement. Same thing for the second one.. Looks like I'm not the only one also.
These things are terrible
