Mikrotik hAP ax lite - Unboxing and Disassembly

I want to install an LGA modem in this Mikrotik device, so I need to open it up and find out if there is an unoccupied LGA socket on the board.

In the future one thing to do is to look at FCC registration documents for the electronic device because those documents are available publicly and will include board shots. You can check to see whether or not the same board is in a given device before making a purchase, for instance.

The modem footprint is for a FIBOCOM fg621-ea modem on USB2.0 which is for EMEA/APAC/Australia regions. Because it's on USB2, pulling out the USB data lines and power to an external modem would be pretty trivial

You can use a L009 + USB modem. Check stock for Mikrotik "Chateau LTE6 ax"
The router has a port labeled as Internet and others as LAN, but Mikrotik allows you to use any port as WAN or LAN, even multiwan or use it as a switch with all its ports in a bridge

Which is the LGA socket, triangle? For a newbie I cant figure where you found/ identified it?

I don’t think you’ll get a 5G modem on there given that they have a LTE enabled version. That LGA layout is likely for that lte modem. That said, you might be able to find a US version of the modem they chose to use and put it on there.
