When God made man in the earth, man was already spirit (God had already created man in the image of God before the living soul/flesh of man) before becoming a living soul. When the Spirit breathed into man, he was not breathing man’s spirit into him, God [Spirit] breathed into man and then he became a living soul and created from the dirt as flesh. Book of Genesis. We DONT go to physical churches to get living water for our soul. We go to Christ. We follow Christ for that. Christ is the living water for our spirit and our soul. This is why you're experiencing what you feel is an attack of a church as a pastor, because if more and more believers did what they were actually suppose to be doing in following Christ, your church would not be where they go to get living water for their soul *smh* that's a very religious statement. It's almost like you were speaking down on validation while trying to get some for yourself and your platform. Some relevancy of worth, even… kind of hypocrisy or at least a contradiction.
The scripture is: What does it profit a man to gain the world and LOSE his own soul. ‘Forfeit’ means that the man is choosing the world over his soul. It is possible to gain the world and NOT lose your soul as we can see many Christians are profitable doing just that with now. So, you should speak about it in context of what the text says so as to not lose your point or the conversation
It’s not just social media, it's happening in the cliques of your churches. It would actually serve the church to know how it is in constant contradiction of what it preaches and proports. If you think culture and social media is beneath you, how do u participate in it without being a slave yourself? Is there not any validation in participating in what is beneath your heritage or does the reason why exclude you?
Our spirits stand before God. The living soul is will, mind, emotions, which goes back in the ground with the flesh or it is judged to go back into the earth. There are no emotions in the spirit world. The image of God is our spirit not our soul.

Our true self is not soul, so u must mean spirit. Tho Christian doctrine may say soul. God’s doctrine will likely call it spirit
