This is very true Mynda. Fortunately, your videos and a few other experts (Mike Girvin, Chandoo, Leila G, Chandeep, Jon A, Mr. Excel, etc) are fantastic and have taught so much to so many, me included. Thanks!

Today I have learned 2 new things or rather phrases, "Eudtaintment" and "Someday newer come", thank you for that and then I have to see that it translated into Danish .
And otherwise, you are absolutely right that without goals for what you want to learn and what it will be used for, it will never come to anything.
What makes it so interesting to watch your videos is that, in addition to obvious technical skills, you are able to convey the message professionally but still with a "smile on your face"

You have become one of my go-to’s for Excel tutorials because of how well you break down the concepts in the videos and I love that you include sample files so I can practice as I follow along. Thank you!!

This is the best Excel learning motivation video I've ever seen. It is a great, motivating message. Thanks for creating it, I was inspired. I can sometimes lapse into TH-cam therapy and end up regretting the waste of time. I'm an experienced Excel user, but everyone needs to hear a message like this once in a while. Thanks very much Mynda.

Yes Mynda, I started with a goal early this year to convert the cash accounting system of a club of retirees I belong to from paper based to Excel when my wife became treasurer again. I have previous experience with Access but would need to include a lot of VBA. I quickly found your tutorials which allowed me to avoid all the pitfalls and there is not one line of code that I wrote. My wife loves it. Nice that we are almost neighbours, we live on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Thank you so much.

I've been suscribed to your YT channel for some time and I enjoy your videos very much. I have been using Excel for many many years and, like many, I know enough to get by or like some say... 'enough to be dangerous'. I've been very tempted to sign up to one of your courses and I eventually will. Unfortunately, I already retired and don't have as much use for it as I once did, but... there is always something on the plate like analyzing my medical data. I have tons of data that I gather from at home devices (CPAP, oximeter, blood pressure, ECG holter, exercise bike, smart weight scales, etc.) . But, the big motivator has always been my eagerness to know more about everything. The internet is just a treasure chest of information and I spend a lot of time in front of a screen digging up knowledge. Thanks for your channel. I was an industry trainer during my last active years at a job and you have the touch, the delivery, knowledge and patience to do what you do and I admire you for it. Cheers.

Hello Mynda, this is sooooo true. I always want to embrace more than I can cope with regarding Excel of course, I used it every single day dealing with lots of data hence wanting to do everything at once dazzling dashboards, outstanding financial reports etc.., but with power BI as well and MS fabric data analysis. Your advice sets all records straight and somehow I needed that to to set my goals and targets according to a SMART framework. Many, many thanks Mynda (I can't thank you enough for the eye-opener. Like Chris said your tutorials (which I found very helpful) like those of other experts (Kevin S., Leila G., Chandoo etc..) help me a lot to make small but solid progress Keep up the outstanding work you're doing benefiting to us, learners, once again, bravo!!!

Wonderful to hear, John! The learning journey can be overwhelming, and many people give up. Glad you hear you're making progress and hopefully the SMART framework will help you make even faster leaps and bounds. 😊

"To teach someone else is a great way to learn, trust me" (said with a smiling laugh at the end). Awww! But, you're absolutely right! I have been having fun showing my peers how to get things done in Excel and Powerquery and Powerautomate and it becomes a situation best described as saying "I know enough to keep us from capsizing, so let's learn these waters together!" :p

@@MyOnlineTrainingHub I am trying to sell them more and more on PQ by reminding them that one very nice thing about it is if you hit Refresh All some day and it no longer works, you can usually trace your PQ steps and find the error and fix it. ... That's not so easy to do in a traditional Excel dataset packed with co-dependent formulas and external links!

    All good advice. And yet…
IMO, after a while, all this doesn’t matter all that much anymore: have a planned meeting on some change requests for an Excel tool that is about to go live, 10mins before that: solving an acute and ad hoc Excel problem for a damsel in distress. All in a day’s work.
And that was today. And Excel is just a secondary objective at work, no really. It’s a hobby, too.
And yet I like to watch YT-videos on the subject because there’s always something new to learn or some older knowledge to refresh.

Good point, Geert. Once you get to a certain level with your Excel skills watching tutorials is less about big jumps in your skillset and more about picking up small tips and different ideas.
