      Yes!! Cyndi Lauper was the perfect choice in 1985(?) and while she and Celine have completely different styles, I feel Celine was the perfect choice here

    Hello Travis. The first production of this song was great and this re-make paid tribute to the original and brought it forward with a new generation of singers.       I agree that the song is able to overcome different artists with different vocal abilities and styles, but from a writing perspective the rap verse isn't good.

    A lesson that I learned from this video was to see the people (grown and especially the children) smiling and dancing all while seeing their entire lives and homes destroyed. Having nothing, they still had faith and love for life

    Awesome reaction, loved your expression when the rappers popped in, yes this version is really different, but it is powerful and it all went together so beautifully. I think this one seems more like it's own song rather than a version, if that makes sense.

    I never knew this existed!! OOOHH my gosh! I loved the guy that was singing in Haitian (or whatever its called). Gave me chills.
    But when Janet came on...your face. LMAO. I cried when you cried becuz I know how much u love her. haaha And then I cried for the whole rest of the damn song just from her and Michael singing together on the chorus. lollll.

      The Haitian language is called Creole. And the gentleman singing in Creole is the awesome Wyclef Jean. He was singing Hips Don't Lie with Shakira. Hope this helps! ☺️

    not everyone having a solo was inevitable with so many people. It was the same in the original, and they had less people. In the original Bet Midler, Waylon Jennings, Smokey Robinson, and John Oats just to name a few didn't have solos. but the theme when they all got together was check your egos at the door.

    Overall it is a good version. And big props to Wyclef for keeping Michaels contribution.
    But... damn that was a lot of autotune on everyone who isnt of the same vocal caliber of Celine, Josh, Barbra, Pink, Jennifer and Mary J.

    It's called We are the World 25 for Haiti because it took place 25 years after the original. *Looks it up* Yeah 2010, so it's been 13 years now since that took place.

    I personally prefer the original USA for Africa version to this one. Both are good but I think that one is a bit better due to the amazing talent involved.

    I remember being in School, I think 2nd or 3rd Grade, and the Earthquakes in Haiti had happened. If I'm not Mistaken, I think this came out in 2010
    Edit: they had to put Michael's part from the 1985 version into the video because as everyone knows, Michael Jackson sadly Passed away in 2009.

    You and me = same. I started sobbing as soon as MJ and Janet popped up
    I agree that choices were certainly made here. The rap section was jarring at first listen but i came to enjoy it. I still could've done without Lil Wayne's solo and the level of autotune for T Pain (i think T Pain could've incorporated it better so i assume he wasn't as involved in the production of his part)

    I agree about the rap part, it felt a little forced and didn’t quite fit. I love rap and love LL, but I wasn’t crazy about that part, but I kind of liked Weezy’s part… probably because he was singing. 😁

    Overall, I liked this but I do agree that the rap part is rather jarring. It just wasn't a seamless transition. I liked that there was a rap section, however, I think it could have been smoother. It just didn't flow in my opinion.

    Idk. I don't like this version. Idk why. I just don't. It's a straight up copy. Like a cover. It's a good cause that's not my problem. I hate covers that are straight up copies. I only like covers that make a song there on. My God, they just straight copy and pasted part of this song. Just no. I don't like it all.
    Ok wait. I just got to the rap part i guess. It makes it so much worse. I just don't like this song. Although its the first time I've heard people sing without auto tune in a long time. But I just can't.

    I liked this only because YOU weren't afraid to show your emotion, bro. Other than that I didn't care for this much at all. It makes no sense to me to redo (or remake) this song for Hiatti. It's nowhere close to the original USA for AFRICA. And I'm only hoping that Quincy Jones had nothing to do with this.

      A lot of those artist using auto tune can sing well without it but we’re using it as a stylistic choice at the time

    Rap is my favorite genre of music but I didn't care much for the rap part. It seemed to almost be cheesy and kind of took something away from the song. I wish I never saw Kanye again.

    This cover doesn’t come close to the greatness of the original. The original had one unified sound they all committed to for a common cause. This seemed like a mashup of egos more than anything.
