Very good. Mother Hubbard has kicked my butt a million times, and still I have managed to catch a couple over 7 pounds on it. Appreciate the work you put in on these.
@@SimplisticFishing awesome! Really enjoy your videos and they have been super helpful. Finally catching some fish on Hubbard after watching all of your videos. Have a tournament on Eagle Mountain Lake in a couple of months so your break down would be very useful.
Do you ever see or have you ever heard of anyone bowfishing lake RH? I have spent a lot of time shooting gar/carp on Lewisville but am moving east, would love to go out closer to home instead of driving across the metroplex.
Tyler, thanks for doing this informative video. I just moved to Rockwall recently and am buying a boat in the spring to fish RH and other nearby lakes. Starting to identify prospective areas of Lake Ray Hubbard using the Navionics map but its only my best guess. Your video breaking down the lake is the best of its kind I've seen (and I have watched a lot of fishing videos). I appreciate you sharing your better spots and the when, why and how of these spots (which rarely happens on a fishing video). Sharing your knowledge and experience enables the rest of us to better dissect other potential areas on RH and other similar reservoirs. Looking forward to your next video installments.
One more suggestion for doing lake breakdowns using the online navionics charts. It would be helpful if you would first change your PC cursor to large and black (from small and white). It's really hard to see the white cursor against the white lake background of the navionics charts. Thanks!
I have but I would not say I am an expert by any means. The Thursday night tourney’s last year were producing 25+ lb bags. We’ve had good days out there but not enough to get 20lbs plus every trip and feel confident. We’ll get it added. Thank you for the support!
Been out in my kayak on RH both of the last two Saturday's from sunrise until 1pm. Got skunked both days. I've been up in that small middle branch, next to Rowlett HS, north or 66 and south of it. Nothing. What part of the lake is best for April and May?? I'm doing something wrong.
The river is always good but hard to get to by kayak. The area you are fishing I have only been too a few times. I would try fishing over by the power plant or see if you can launch in rush creek at the marina. I favor the south side but that’s because it’s close to my house.
Awesome video and breakdown of Hubbard. I fish it a lot in my kayak but always on the Rowlett side (just because of convenience) but definitely need to try the Rockwall and Heath side. Thanks for the detail and insight.
Terry Park is a good area over in heath. There also a fishing barge on the Rockwall side in the marina on northeast side of 30. Rowlett also has an area but I am not sure the name of the park. Good luck out there!
I have tried several times with no luck. They have to be there somewhere... if I am fishing the north side it’s either 66 rip rap or the river typically. Good luck and welcome to town!!
I will be publishing a few videos in the next few weeks on where to look for them on Hubbard in pre-spawn. Your best bet right now is to go to the river. Thanks for the support!!
Winter fishing I normally focus on 2 spots, the deep water rock break wall on the main lake side of Chandlers Landing and the dam rocks. At the Chandlers spot I throw red colored deep diving crankbaits and mainly focus on the edge of the rocks in deep water. Throw a crankbait that makes bottom contact, 20-25 feet. At the dam I also throw red colored deep cranks. I will position my boat around 60 or more feet off of the bank and throw deep cranks at a 20 degree angle towards the bank, but landing the crankbait about 15 feet short of the bank and bounce that crankbait off of the rocks all the way back to the boat. My objective is to make rock contact all the way to where the rocks stop in deep water.
I will be launching a video soon on the Hubbard Waypoints which includes some tracks to avoid the trees. You can buy the a waypoint card now at simplisticfish.square.site/.
Secondary points are your best bet. Make sure you are in coves with major creek channels when looking for those points that is key. The others will have fish but the creeks have higher percentages. Is there a lake you commonly fish? Maybe I could do a prespawn breakdown on an upcoming video.
I’ll do a video soon for pre-spawn on Hubbard. If you’re going soon, you want to look at the river and that huge flat I talked about. They should be heading in there now or staging right outside. Good luck!!
Went out this afternoon. South side of the lake is still 51 degrees. The river is where it is at right now it’s 58 degrees. Main lake sucked today... :)
Great video! Caught my first and only walleye out of Hubbard. Waded out at the end of the old 66 bridge when it was still there back in the late 70s.
Very cool!
Good stuff
Appreciate it
Do Lake Granbury
It is coming next, I have been breaking it down and getting in ready. Should post in the next few weeks.
I’m going to RH in the morning you should join me brother
Loved in Heath all my life learned this lake and possum kingdom back of my head bc we also have a home out their it pays off to live on lakes
Awesome! I’m jealous needing a lake home for sure.
Really good video, thanks
Thank you! Appreciate the feedback. Tight Lines!

Thanks Roddy!!
Great video man, just caught my pb drum at ray hubbard today
Rock on!
Really appreciate this video. Learned a lot.
Thank you! Good luck out there!!
Thanks for the hard work man. Gives me hope for Ray Hubbard.
Thank you!! Don’t lose hope, they are there just harder than hell to catch!!
Good morning! Any chance you might do a breakdown of Eagle Mountain Lake? Thanks
Sure thing. I will get it done. Thanks for the support!

Just moved to Fate! Took the Skeeter zx200 out today, working out some kinks but look forward to learning this lake more. I appreciate your info!
Royse city bro I been fishin on the bridge where boat ramp is and it takes a few houres but I was able to catch a 13" strip bass
Nice!!!!
Thanks for the video - I'm from Rockwall ('94) - JFND - I'm out in Fate now - but just getting back into fishing and trying Ray Hubbard and Lavon.
JFND!! Good luck out there and thanks for the support!
Where's a good crappie spot
I-30 bridge is good, also over by the power plant by wind surf park there is some timber there they like.

I haven’t but I bet you would do good up in the river north of 66. Would love for you to kill the Gar, Bowfin and carp up there! :)

Will do! Thanks for letting me know. Lavon will be coming soon. I’ll give you what I know but there is much more to be discovered.
Ever fished Lake Lavon ? If so maybe you do a lake layout

I need to go fishing with you. I’ve lived by this lake for 11 years and not enjoyed it enough. I live right by Rowlett creek off of Miller.
For sure we’ll need to go out sometime. Tight Lines!!
When you fish the rip rap what lures are you having success with?
Shaky head with baby brush hog will always get it done but you could throw cranks and jerkbaits too and have success.
Thanks, Tyler this was valuable. Is there a parking lot there where I can shore fish over there? Just subscribed 👍

Are you going to do a Hot Spot card for this like you did for Lake Fork?
Good idea! I’ll go back and do that soon.
Ever fished Lake Ontario? Looking for big small mouth
Little too far for me but Landon goes to Canada every year. I’m sure he’ll have some tips.
What areas do you think would be best for late February, I have a tournament on Hubbard at the end of the month

If I can find them on a map. :) thanks for the support!
