Being treated like this myself, I often wondered how many people have been turned away from great opportunities and companies never reaching their full potential do to bias leadership. I still believe THE LORD uses this type of wrong for his good.
I really don’t understand what the manager was thinking. Her actions have damaged the brand's image in the eyes of customers and demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism. She should definitely undergo retraining.
[05:40] Miss Richardson’s behavior is infuriating. Judging someone’s 'fit' without merit is exactly why so many talented people are overlooked. Kudos to Malcolm for calling out this toxic culture!
Interesting story but significantly flawed. If Miss Richardson had worked for the company for over ten years she would have known who the interview candidate was! Plus, when did Mr Ross write his report on the interview. He, apparently, went directly from the interview to the Boardroom.
Firing her, out of hand, makes her someone else's problem rather than addressing the problem. Keep in mind, she did nothing overt. Firing her for cause, would have been very difficult, if not impossible, and could have led to major league litigation against the company which in turn would have led to very bad publicity and a loss of revenue. On the other hand, if she's given the choice to leave or stay and she chooses to leave, that's on HER and NOT on the company. If she stays and adjusts, she becomes an asset rather than a liability even IF she decides to leave the company at a later date. Giving her the chance to actually make things right was the exact right thing to do.
It would be nice for people not only African Americans but Latinos, and other races that come to the US in look for a solid future for them and their families, that is something that should.be happening right away, how many businesses have hard time getting employees to work just because of the stuck up interviewers that see a different color of skin and just say, have a good day and we will be in touch, in touch my foot! God help.with what's coming this next year..🥴😮💨😬😒🫣

How could she NOT know why she was being called in? 🙄 🙄
