I was about to ask how will it compare to the Japanese release and the 70th anniversary 101. I have a bottle of the Japanese release in transit now coming. Was going to open it side by side with my 70th. But now I might wait for the American 8yr
@ I’ve been casually trying to find a 12 for about 3months. I’m not 100% sure what a good price is. So I go that’s way too much or this site seems too cheap. Is this website even legit lol
Should be soon. Someone in my livestream was already talking about having a store pick of regular green river full proof. Just a matter of time for more stores to start getting their own single barrels of this wheated stuff
Cheers brother! It makes me hopeful for myself, but I’ve honestly struck out hard myself. So many new bottles and ive only gotten a couple of them lol. But hey, the hunt is half the battle
Their bourbons batches 33, 34, 35, and 36 are delicious. Their new years celebration batches are delicious. Their friggin finished batches like mizunara and ice wine are delicious. I might be a total fan boy hahaha
@@TheBourbonWrench oh wait I thought it was only a VDN but I see that is only 17 % .... yes IDK about that now... definitely a lot going on that blend.
The rate they are putting them out, I’m starting to question them. Like comeon, these other guys can barely put out a 90 proof bourbon before they put out 6 new labels. Like who do I trust?!
The only one I might buy is the WT101 8 year...whole lot of gimmicky stuff going on with the other ones and you already know they will be ridiculously expensive
There really is a lot of gimmick stuff going on. It’s like everyone is trying to get some sort of “rarity” or “hype” behind their bottle without actually having either. It’s just normal bourbon with an absurd story.
@@johnh8268 “Our first special release is limited to around 100 bottles, from casks distilled by a historic Kentucky bourbon producer in 1999.” It literally says casks distilled in 1999, so I’m not sure how else to interpret that.
@@red5standingby419 I'm just saying it makes sense that it's old Stitzel Weller. Who cares they closed in 92 and this was distilled in 99. It was probably distilled in 92 and tanked after so long lol. Honestly, the metal tanks for whiskey are extremely underrated. If Heaven Hill can do it, so can the other big boys.
I wish Seagrass was what it used to be. Not the same since the first handful of batches. Drinks hotter now and less of those great flavors that used to be there. Super bummed. Bring back old Seagrass.
@@TheBourbonWrench No, no…it’s not terrible now, I just feel like it’s not the same with recent batches compared to older batches. I still drink it and enjoy it, just not as much unfortunately. Both my wife and I have been HUGE Seagrass fans since day 1 and unfortunately agree it’s gone down hill a little bit. That is just our opinion though. I’m curious if others have experienced the same or not. What’s the batch you’ve been sippin on?! Our most recent is Batch 10.
Amazing…Gen Z beer tastes like sh*t …. Gen Z bourbon…yup. Same. Just stop. Don’t need stuff (coffee, vodka, milk, sparkling water etc) infused with hibiscus or elderberry or whatever the flavor or car freshener of the week is. Just stop.
I’m honestly right there with you. Check my videos, I ain’t reviewing half the crap that’s out. So many reviewers spending hundreds of dollars on crap bourbon and it’s the same thing; just wanting people to spend another $150 on ANOTHER bottle. That’s not this channel.
Whats hilarious is that they've had wild turkey 8yr in japan for decades now lol

Supposedly Japan helped Wild Turkey during slow times and WT and Japan now have a special relationship
I’m right there with you. Just wait until the masses hear about wild turkey 12 year!!!!

@ most website are fake, average cost for 12 year WT on secondary market is $200-250
I'm curious as to where you found the information for that Green River release. Really want to know when I should start looking for it.

I love these breakdowns! Thank you for continuing to create them! I'd love to get my hands on the new Woodford.

Excellent video ---- love the content! Cheers!
Cheers man! Glad you enjoyed, we always here delivering the videos, but making them fun!
I like finished bourbon and I love Blue Note but I agree, that's a lot going on there
Great video TREV
Cheers buddy, glad you enjoyed it!
Gonna have to try more of the Barrell offerings. Just cracked the 5yr they put out recently and it's delicious. Cheers!

A Local BM are doing GreenRiver store picks. Thinking about going this weekend!
Do it! They are well priced and I hear they are tasty!
I’m excited for the blue note VDN and Woodford
Whatcha think of that blue note blend? Think it’s too much?

Lets get them all!!!!
I love Seagrass, but I don't know about a toasted.... have you tried the 20yr seagrass, Trev?
Whatever sample you got me, I haven’t tried yet. So I can’t speak to it compared to whatever this new toasted barrel is gonna be
@@TheBourbonWrench Didn't send you the 20yr seagrass - sent you the 20yr toasted - I have some of the 20yr seagrass that I'll send ya.
Nice video!. Not a Blue Note fan. Some interesting stuff!
Cheers nerds!!
Just googled 5 Keys Bottling...this is Blade & Bow which currently uses the old S-W distillery
8-year WT101. Now $50 prolly
Blue Note sounds like they're trying to make it a cigar blend
Cheers 🥃 🦃🦃
Love you LEGEND!
Great, another Bardstown release I'm gonna have to hunt down! 😂

SW was sold in 1972 and closed in 1992…someone is trying to cash in on the SW name/label
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
What a NERD!!!
Stitzel-Weller closed in 1992. So not sure how, if this whiskey was distilled in 1999, it was them.
It could have been distilled in 1992, or earlier, and then vatted after 24 years.

It literally says casks distilled in 1999, so I’m not sure how else to interpret that.
I’m very confused by it. Maybe it’s vatted, who knows. Regardless, this is gonna be a money grab
Stitzel Weller sold old fitz in 1999 so it could be a leftover 👀👀👀👀
But there’s 100 bottles. Aka, you’ll have to sell your left nut. Maybe both nuts. Probably a kidney too. And who knows it’s it’s actually good!
It's old Stitzel-Weller stock, just like Blade and Bow 22.
It's gonna be good as fuck.
Even if true I like how you say this as if you'll ever see any of the 100 bottles being released lol
I’m right there with you lol 100 bottles is MEHHHH
I’m sure it will be! Only people gonna see it are rich dudes who have connections no one else has! 100 bottles is insane

The Barrell Seagrass Toasted is apparently an r/bourbon exclusive. It's on sale on Sharedpour only this week
It's sold out
Still showing in stock for me. Won't go to public availability until Thursday (turns out it's Thursday not Friday)
@@andrewgrayson I just ordered it off shared pour's site without issue. Not sure about the publicly available thing.
Thanks for the input Andrew!
Just got an email that it's available now

I can’t speak to this. Hate to hear it; I love the seagrass batch I have, but man I don’t wanna recommend it if it’s terrible now
