This was ms. Days favorite film. It a pure kick and my own favorite...and I'm 72 ..been watching it regularly for about 62 years. Even have my own copy and know all the dialogue and tunes. Like I say...its a kick. :)
RIP Doris ...one beautiful lady...love your movies ..you have a beautiful personality, beautiful voice, beautiful smile...you will never be forgotten...
Rest In Peace dear Lady. My favorite movie of yours is Calamity Jane. Thank you for the wonderful entertainment, but mostly for your heartfelt love of animals
Love this movie watch it everyday without fail Doris Day was my Hero an her an Howard Keel i loved so much, i think i will watch this movie till i die love both ther singing an acting, i even cry at it 😂 but i wont ever stop watching them in CALAMITY JANE , THE BEST MOVIE EVER
What an absolute delight! I love Doris Day and Howard Keel in this fabulous movie! This woman is a very very talented woman. She is a great actress, singer, dancer, and an amazing person❤️❤️
Doris Day is wonderful. What a great film, her singing is beautiful, and she's a great actress. I noticed how in "Annie get your gun", Betty Hutton plays sort of a similar style character, but not NEARLY as great as Doris Day in "Calamity Jane", both films starred opposite Howard Keel.
In reality they barely tolerated each other. He was a gambler and a washed up lawman. He was married to a woman in Wyoming. And she was a rough and ready, heavy drinking gal. She later married a man in Texas.
Fun movie - but definitely portrays the 1950s sentiments towards Native Americans - which is rather embarrassing. Also, you won't learn one thing about the real Calamity Jane (Martha Jane Canary) from this movie. There's a one hour biography on Calamity Jane (The Tragic Life of the Woman of the West) on TH-cam that is worth watching if you want to know more about her. I recommend this bio - as it shows sides not seen in this movie or the HBO Deadwood series.
Complain all you want about the low production values of movies these days, but got damn movies back then could be obnoxious and disingenuous, let alone that they pissed all over the memories of the people they characterized. This hurts to watch.
not a fan, know the story of Calamity Jane, and that's not Calamity Jane, that's a blonde skinny woman, Jane wasn't cute, nor was she a blonde skinny woman, she practically looked like a man, so saying there's never been a "cuter shooter" is turning a real person who was tough as nails, into a stereotypical trope of a female character

I love how people now-a-days complain about how trailers show 80% of the film. Well check this out.

I can tell by these comments that few of you have watched HBO's Deadwood.
kind of funny to compare these portrayals with those in HBO's Deadwood. Quite a different Calamity Jane and Wild Bill.
You can watch Calamity Jane (1953) Full Movie at *fullmoviesmedia(dot)com/calamity-jane-1953-full-movie* Thanks, Devon

I wouldn't exactly say Calamity tames Wild Bill. haha. More the other way around.
A história real e cômica de Jane calamidade
Only here because Limmy said this is his favourite movie
This is much better than Annie Get Your Gun.
classic....just like Oklahoma!
Movies just don't have any of this pizazz any more. My generation will never appreciate this era :'(
Major spoiler in this trailer! lol Still quite good tho.
Você participa do desenho pica pau
A bit insulting to the first people!

Doris day
Could someone give me an inside , when Doris Day starts to rotate her pistol it looks kind of silly and amateurish , what`s wrong with this scene ?
I'd simply say that Doris, herself, was not an expert with pistols.
nothing.
