Been skating inline since 9yrs old. I did everything, slalom, freeskate, speed, urban aggressive but never halfpipe. Had traumatic experience both physcially and mentally with dropping in when I was 14. Never touched it again. Today, being a father and almost 30, I have officially learned to drop in. Jesus, how good that felt. I just dropped in. Thats it. Jesus how good that felt. So thanks a bunch Danny
Thanks Danny.I've watched lots of vids for this and always wanted you to do one so from this 50 year young bloke who has been at the skate park for about six weeks Thanks, I'm just getting used of the half pipe and I can drop in but I think I need more practice cause going backwards is a bit sketchy at times so I'm more practicing pumping up and down the half pipe and hopefully it will make me less nervous or sketchy in time. I would love to see more of your skate park vids when you aren't to busy. Thanks Heaps
51 year old here, first time at a skatepark at 49 (started skating at 48, never done it before). Like you I can now drop in ok, and pump and 180 in a halfpipe, but I find skating fakie very hard. Balance is shot, somehow. Nothing for it but practise and persistence I think. Good luck with your blading journey. Big up the old newbies!
i started skating at 26 (1 month ago) and i can drop in but its very difficult for me to stall or land a grind going up. and forget skating fakie on the half pipe .. i gotta practice my fakie more how he shows here by pumping for sure.
I wish I could give you more likes. Half pipe is such a cool thing and i sucked big time so far. Especially your explanation of the body position was key to my understanding. I struggled in pumping and getting air. Now I guess I now more :) Danny , thank you very much!! Cheers
You'rea really skilled teacher. I'm scared just watching the halfpipe, maybe because I'm not that youg and learning now this stuff. But it looks so fun I totally want to do it.
Great tips. I always wondered if I was right switching leg when going forward or backward. Basically it is always the same leg leading: right leg leading if going forward and right leg leading if going backward. A good idea of next video would be "how to stall and then slide on the coping".
very helpful! thank you for making this video. I've been too intimidated to go to the skatepark as I don't want to embarrass myself but you're right -- all in good fun
Handy tips! But I think which foot you lead with is more determined by if you're regular or goofy footed. At least, it is for me. And because of this I don't switch my stance for forward or backward. But I learnt to blade half pipe in the early 90's after learning to skateboard half pipe in the 80's. My origins being in skateboarding is probably the reason.
First time halfpipe today, did as he showed. After about 20 min, i suddenly got enouth speed for a jump. Wasnt prepared to actually take off..... that hurt
Great vid Danny. I 180 it slightly differently though and find it easier to go up with my right foot it front, 180 to the left, then come down with the left foot in front. This saves switching feet and also teaches to switch leading feet. I also prefer rolling up right foot first, then down backwards in the same position (left foot back) as again, it saves switching feet. Great video as usual though Danny, you make it look so ridiculously easy!!! I guess everyone teaches this slightly differently, but the basics like pumping etc are always the same 🙂🤙
For me dropping in is easy. But I cant properly land on the ramp with my 2 skates on the coping. Want to keep my body postion in a 90degree angle, like you explain in the video. But at some point you have to transition to upright (make a litle jump?). this is where Iam unsure what to do with my body. Ussually have to much speed, and fly by the coping.
Good Video, but I have one point: You say that we should 4:00 not do the drop in, before we are not able to come up on inline skates. But how do I come up to the pltaform? I am a little bit afraid of doing an involuntarily air - ;-)
My mans just casually threw out a backflip during an explanation. Good stuff Danny.
He didn't even stop talking there :D
Me is yelly 😲
holy shit he’s good
and the very next thing he says is "it is literally that simple."

feels good man
I did it yesterday after 13 months since I've started to skate and I'm 43. Great feeling.
Im learning to ride the skatepark at 53
I am impressed with his explanatory skills. He is a great ambassador for inline skating.
there are many youtube channels that explain better by faaarrr. But it's a nice to have
This is the best video explaining the basics of skating a half-pipe that I've seen. He explains it so clearly. Love it!
Wow, thanks!
Agreed, came late to the party but wanted to comment saying the exact same thing.
Like everyone said, dude is amazing at teaching and showing. Very intuitive explanation of how to do things that usually seem to vague to figure out.
Me: Ahh a basic video that's what I need
Danny: throws a backflip

The best explainer video about riding a halfpipe with inline skates. Thank you Danny and Rollerblade!
Holy mid-life crisis coming! Happy birthday to me, gonna be on the lookout for a half-pipe.
Can't believe I just did said that.
Thank you

VERY good experience and explained.
Excellent tutorial sir! You make it look so easy that I will probably hurt my self if I try! That flip I didn’t see coming...
Man I love all of danny's vids.
the back flip was fantastic!
You'rea really skilled teacher. I'm scared just watching the halfpipe, maybe because I'm not that youg and learning now this stuff. But it looks so fun I totally want to do it.
Love that backflip
2:40 this man just casually hits a backflip
give me my weights back >:(
Yooo that shit was crazy
More of Danny's point please!!!!!!
Very useful tips to help me get started
Con. Usted se aprende mucho.
The video I was hoping I'd find when I came looking!
I really love your intro
More skatepark tutorials please. Love this content ❤️❤️❤️❤️👌🏻
Working on it...
@@AuthenticRollerblade thank you, thank you very much!
Thankyou for this as I have the same kind of skates as you and I couldn’t find any with those types of skates

Nice tutorial bro, Spain looks like the perfect country for skating all year around. Here in Germany we are having zero degrees and below in winter :(
That was excellent thank you so much
very good explanations ! you know you are a pro when you can explain something while doing a flip haha :D
VERY good my bro
Thankyou 🙏🏻
Loved it thanks so much for making the video! ♥
Glad you liked it!!

And wheel quality and bearings.
It’s a shame rollerblade don’t make size 13 skates
You really inspired me,I'm 42 just started skating,if I may ask how old are you?
69
"this ramp brings happiness, not pain" tell that to my a$$
still love the journey though!
I am learning the ramp now. Pump and it works😊 i am 44 and just start skating … do you think it’s too old???
You are AMAZING!!!!!!!
me too right handed and it's only convenient to put LEFT foot forward like in a boxing stand etc
First time halfpipe today, did as he showed. After about 20 min, i suddenly got enouth speed for a jump. Wasnt prepared to actually take off..... that hurt
Lol 🤣
thank you sooooo much
ur welcome

Thank you Danny!! 😍 Where is this skatepark by the way? 😂😅

"It is literally that simple" - Danny after casually hitting a backflip
how to drop in with the 3 wheels?
It's looks so easy when Danny try it :) I try to do this in my skate park... and its so freaking hard and terrifying for my :D:D:D
me too :D
where can I watch more videos of Danny?
That simple he says.
is that a flat rail with a 10 foot drop on the other side?
Hi, can you make a tutorial on how to go downstairs without using railing for help (the safe way 1 by 1, not rolling / riding them I mean)?
Reeally nice and helpful tutorial! You wanna add one for the backflip too? ;-)
Thank you, aun que deberían incorporar subtitulos para la comunidas roller latinoamericana o hispano hablante
Ok, that’s simple!
i am way to freaked to go there but really want to haha. do you think it’s to dangerous or weird with rockered skates?
no do it... and do it in your style...
I am not able to go backwards when in scissors position, somehow I start turning
0:10 Danny, U always make sense, just gimme a splif...
teaches how to do the magic slide tutorial
next..there is already a slide video
Where is this half pipe?
Need lovely 😍💋 💝💖❤️
Backflip and say Simple 🤣🤣🤣
Miniramp not half pipe ....
