To protect internals of an engine that has been setting for a year or more, 1. remove plugs 2. spray lub in cylinders 3. change oil/filter 4. crank over with no plugs in, till oil pressure is up in order to lube bearings/valve train 5. put new plugs/wires in with fresh gas and try. That helps reduces dry start valve chatter or other possible damage.
Great advice. I love roadkill. Half of the show is them doing the right thing kinda the wrong way regardless of the consequences. And they usually say so. And like Jesse said, they don't care because they have better motors. They don't care much about the looks of a car so long as it is solid and the frame isn't bent. We'll kinda. They did do 2 or 3 shows with the only car I have ever seen drive an imaginary telephone pole as a passenger in the tront and back seats!
I love how the Satellite turned out, especially since I have one, but it's a highly modified '72 "Resto-mod Road Runner" with a poked and stroked 440 that is now a 528ci tire frying beast! I grew up working on and riding in my brothers (who is 10 years older than I am) '71 383 powered Road Runner and it has been my favorite car of all time ever since. I was into 4X4 trucks for many years but after helping my four kids buy, do any repairs, and teach them how to properly maintain their own car (or truck) I decided it was time for dad to buy myself something I had always wanted, so I found a rust free '72 440 Road Runner from Arizona and bought it to build dad's (and now grandpa eight times over!) full scale "Hot wheels" car! I've watched the episode about Freiburger's favorite RR at least a dozen times when I'm bored!
My first car was a 71 satellite with a 400 engine, and 2 barrel carter carb, and a 727 slapstick trans. We put a lot of work into that car trying to get it to pass smog. (Back then California required a smog cert on that year). We kept getting bad new carbs and the car would not pass the smog test. About 4 new carbs later we finally got a good carb, passed smog and I drove it for a few months. Until it threw a rod. It was a great first car, I bought it from a neighbor for $300. Paid for it with my own money I made working as a stock boy in the local mini mart gas station. Watching this brought back a lot of good memories.
Great name. Brother had a 70 super 🐝 383 and a 71 'cuda conv. 383. I'm pretty sure he said cobble. I've never seen roadkill coddle anything. I thought I heard that the first time too. And he says it shortly before pulling the oil filler cap, almost gets steam burned and does a celebratory whhooo whooo steam whistle!!!! On the spot diagnosis. Terminal illness. And Steve drives away.
Show idea Between everything at The Dulcich Grape Ranch, and everything Freiberger has, you get as many of them heaps running as you can in one thrash of a show.
I have discovery+ and they didn't have any roadkill on discovery+ for two years. They only started putting roadkill episodes on there again in June but I think there's only three episodes on there from this year. Before that the last episode was from around may 2021. I used to watch roadkill on here every time it came on them when they announced it was going to be behind a paywall I was very very disappointed. I'm not going to pay for a website to watch the show. I'm not paying for discovery+ either. When I upgraded my SKY viewing box in Februrary here in Ireland I got Discovery+ for 12 months free.
R u guys those fancy scientists? Pull the plugs out brush them off and when you replace them put 4 shots of starting fluid in each cylinder and keep your fingers crossed .
The 2 barrel/4barrel adapter makes as much sense as ye' Olde 8 track/cassette adapter. The only reason for either one is not a valid reason for their existence.
Freiburger must be Beavis because Dulcich looks exactly like Butt-head. This body style was a huge improvement over the 70 and older. In fact I consider it one of the very best looking cars Chrysler Corp. ever made. I absolutely love the show. They speaka my language (You can't see me, but I'm shaking my hand with my fingers all extended and touching each other in the typical pizano gesture)😉
Man look whoever’s operate in his motor trend right here. I ain’t doing very well job because we’ve seen all the shows already. What is the Woodward Ave., Pauline races that can you tell me that were you putting all that stuff because I seen it off of here
so the cars to filthy and nasty for the dog but is ok for you two.l likesteve Steves haircut for once he doesn't look like a homeless guy living behind a Safeway.Steve is truly the calif. mopar king.and doesn't do a bad job growing grapes.
As much I love you guys and love your show but I would love to see you guys actually get serious and actually restore a car. Hot rod, street car, restore to factory doesn't matter.
Do you like how the Satellite turned out?
I think the title is a bit miss-leading, this car isn't restored. It's cobbled JUST enough to drive, and that's it.
I have a 1966 Dodge Charger all original except it has a 66 Coronet front bumper. Not in as bad of shape as this car, but needs a full resto.
It looks great but if one of you doesn't come down with hantavirus I will be shocked
71/72 were the best years for the Satellite/RR/GTX in my opinion. Keep going with this one gentlemen, it's a badass! 🤘😎🤘
sexiest of all the muscle cars
I preferred 68 69 charger ,roadrunner andGTX 71 Cuda for years. I didn't like the fuselage when it came out. I f....... love them now.
As a owner of a ‘71 Curious yellow GTX…I agree with you 100%😊

No friburger will just sender. They have many better engines lol

Love the sound of those classic shrieking starters. Used to know who had a Mopar in the neighborhood by the mere sound.
I loved the sound of a MOPAR starter, you could have an Imperial, or a Valant that warble was unmistaken.
There was no sound like that in the world! Definitely amazing!

If the big yellow Ford truck suddenly comes up missing its hood scoop, I don't know anything about it!
But now you know I know.

No jackstands that’s nuts. I love it 😮
Roadkill should have more spots on the moter trend channel.
God i love that car i want it so Bad! Its looks so Cool! Who doesn't want it!!
My first car was a 72 satellite. Loved it. Just a 318/727 car, and now 18 years later I'm shopping for a Roadrunner.
Still got my 72 RR ... bought in 82
Love it! We've worked on a lot of Roadrunners: th-cam.com/video/ZVVDB8VWEHE/w-d-xo.html
I loved David's remark " you just have to coddle that garbage " 😂

That factory paint has to be very rare for that year and option package. I hope it gets the love it should
The satellite is probably one of my favorite cars ever
Fresh restoration from Mother nature, she's a beauty!!
GREAT VIDEO STEVE AND DAVID!!!! I LOVE IT!!! THE PERFECT DAILY DRIVER!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Another job well done! Did I see Tru Spokes on that car to begin with? They'd probably look good on a C body!
The sparking water pump is one of those things that will fix itself after a few minutes
Good job figuring out how to get that old Satellite running again.
Great 👍 content guys. Had one of those in 80 with a 318, great car. Thanks for sharing 😊.
That's just plum crazy

I'm so happy to see dulich
please bring roadkill back to the EU. i've been watching it since 2012 :/

I 100% Agree. Never seen a company as Motor Trend trow away 1000s of loyal supporters and viewers for what???
I love you guys!
Man this is an old episode
Istimewa..
Harbor freight Jack for the win
True animal lover,he didn’t even leave me the dog!
Nice television haircut Steve
Good lookin' haircut, Dulcich.
Will you please get Steve a lift for his shop!!!
Im willing to bet you have some good connections
This car should be called the 'Setalight', on account of how it looks like it's been gifted a flamethrower patina
My first car!! Even looks the same 😂
Can't afford M/T with job injury I'm now disabled so I LOVE when you guys allow some videos here on TH-cam. /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\
I've got a 1972 my favorite car mine is a ssp with a 318 but a 76mm turbo need to find the vynal roof trim
R u guys those fancy scientists?
Pull the plugs out brush them off and when you replace them put 4 shots of starting fluid in each cylinder and keep your fingers crossed .
What happened to this car? Will we see a build series on Roadkill Garage?
That car is long gone it's an old old episode
@@MrKoaz72 It occurred to me that the video was part of an old Roadkill Garage episode after I made my post. I do like the Satellite body style.
This is what happens when you don't use a Thermoquad. ('71 was the first year)
I had a383 in my dodge work van! Burn outs all day
love it ;)
Is this an old episode? They look younger than I've seen them in the recent past.

I miss Steve original teeth.
Dude 😂😂
too funny lol love two :)

dark metallic green for paint
Cool
If that happens to you cut the rubber out of the radiator cap. With no pressure the leak is much smaller. Get you home.
That's an awesome tip. Thanks
Steve got a haircut 👍
Thats the one they sold Wyley, the drone pilot camera man
Not bad
Flip the 4 barrel adapter for a 2 barrel carb on a 4 barrel intake to make your gas last longer and make your dad pissed
Should I buy this subscription again
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤩‼️🔝🇧🇷 Very Nice 🔥🔥🔥
6:55 it can't be that bad that he needs to bring in the Armed Task Force /s
That car has moxy. Sort it out...and take us along for the ride.
9:00 that garbage would take a serious amount of work to make it road legal here in Ireland.
Nobody cares about cars in Ireland 😂
Similar story in Finland. It would take a full solid weekend and a whole lotta parts. 😅
Steve cut his hair. He looks good.
Here's a name for it, Satelblight.
Had one was my first car .i need to fine one
Are those maui Jim glasses
Steve doesn't look homeless like tike the later episodes
I’m getting a 64 tempest for free, the 326 is stuck. Any tips on getting it unstuck?
I think I speak for everyone when I say plz restore the car or a car
Sometimes if you leave minor body/chassis damage alone cars turn better .
Everyone knows that .
Man look whoever’s operate in his motor trend right here. I ain’t doing very well job because we’ve seen all the shows already. What is the Woodward Ave., Pauline races that can you tell me that were you putting all that stuff because I seen it off of here
I have experienced backfires
Is that a ram charger in the back ?! 👀

The Tru's looked hideous on that car. Love the look of the classic CL.
Did I justn hear that firing order correctly. Seems the same as big & small chevy engines.
Shweeeeeeet!!!
Yeah but the hotwheels are always great on any muscle car
Steve wears nicer clothes to crawl under and wrench the starter than I do to go to church
Bummer.I guess that 383 wasn't all it's cracked up to be..../I'll see myself out.
cool wheels btw, how come no one puts wire wheels on them
I'd love to know how you pissed off Dulcich to leave you standing there with nothing but the camera man to talk to.
when is freiberger going to play with the 6.6 400ci engines? same stroke as a 383, but a bigger bore than a 440!
Paint it purple again
i see burnt paint and melted plastic, was this a victim from the cali fires?
That's a real POS lol
How much do you want for the car?
HOW CAN YOU WATCH FULL EPISODES IF YOUR NOT IN THE US???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Don't hit the Dart.
As much I love you guys and love your show but I would love to see you guys actually get serious and actually restore a car. Hot rod, street car, restore to factory doesn't matter.
she drove a plymouth satellite ...
Aren’t you supposed to use that anticoagulant stuff so the rings aren’t coming out of retirement after? Years .
Sheesh
Real life wire wheels leave them
look at that horrible excuse of an air filter
