Not sure if anyone answered this yet... He's called "Snow Warrior" because that model of bullet train was used in the Hokkaido region (Northern Japan), a place that receives the most snow in the country. Each train is nicknamed according to either location in Japan or a certain function.
Liokaiser was also a six-member combiner. Plus if you really wanna get technical, there were some six-member Micromaster combiners in Operation Combination.
Funny fact: the Trainbots were originally from the same Japanese line that gave us the Autobots: From Diaclon, owned by Takara, the Car Robots subline had the Trainrobots, who could form a 6 part combiner. Also, the constructicons belonged to the same line.
I actually owned the original Japanese version of this/these as a kid. I was lucky enough to get it while visiting my dad who was stationed in Japan. Now only if I could remember which attic/garage/box I put it in.
I had that as a kid, from the Diaclone series. My brother got the dudes who would become the Constructicons. They were cool! The trains came with tracks and power bracket...things (they're all over the place in Japan). The constructicons came with a full-on construction site: terrain piece, plastic (or cardboard...I can't remember) i-beam girders and little plastic pellets for shoveling.

the new combiner wars figures I can totally see them make these guys out of them. I know some would suggest the arms where to leave them but the joint that firefly has for the arms can move them all the way above his head, thus they could be made into the rear of the train together with the "backpack". As for the rest it should be like with alpha bravo being the front part that can split etc. This is so easy to do.
Monstructor, Piranacon, were also 6 team combiners available in America and to complete Piranacon as a 6 team you had to order nautilator from japan in 1988 as he was not included in the giftset. Raiden can be considered the counterpart of Devastator, although belonging to another series of the G1 continuity. Size and disposition are the same.
This would be a good set to give a modern iteration as the modern Rail Racer. Rapid Run, Railspike and Midnight Express plus three more
