    I love watching this. Makes me feel like fourteen again, drooling over guitars in music shops. The only guitar I have now is a small acoustic my baby-mom found in a dumpster.

      That's good enough to get you any Jerry tone from any era of his career, as long as you're good enough. It's all in the fingers.

    I will order my Wolph with the Davvy customization. Where they crack the neck, glue it back to get that extra special Davvy/Jerry tone. Seriously, I placed my Wolph order Dec 1 and yeah, the wait will be long due to popularity and covid constraints.

    Wow besides all the killer Jerry tones, the mutron issue of the signal not powerful enough for normal guitars but you can actually turn down the volume and it still auto wahs so perfectly...truly impressive!

    I have this guitar and love it. It seems like you got a heavy one though. Mine is 9.2 lbs. with brass upgrades. Phred's site has the stock one at approximately 8 lbs. Great channel.

    Been waiting for this demo video, thanks Davvy. Look forward to getting my Deadbolt. Phred Instruments is certainly the most affordable option for a Jerry style guitar. I got all the upgrades on mine and the final cost was still cheaper than a Gibson Les Paul.

    Love your videos. I've played guitar on and off for 30 years but I'm nowhere near as good as you. Career, family, home, took priority but when I found your channel it's inspired me to learn more and play recently so thank you. I love these Phred guitars. The only way I'm buying one is to get rid of one of my AM fender strats. Probably would be a dumb choice.

    It's also to be noted how much better your Milkman amp sounds compared to the Mesa. I was not expecting that. Maybe it's just the XLR out difference I'm hearing. But you have made me a believer of Milkman products.

    I just ordered the Wolph fully loaded with the neck-through. The hard shell case should help quite a bit for shipping. It is going from Cali to Arizona. I do not know how long before I get it. I am not in the queue as of yet. It will have the pre-amp bypass toggle on it. Have no idea what it would be needed for, but I will have it if I do need it lol. I will let you klnow how it goes:)

    I'm assuming the mini toggle in between the two inputs turns the obel on or off?
    I'm also curious about how long it took the company to process your order and ship the guitar to you and all that, so what was the timeframe like for you from buying the guitar to the guitar arriving at your doorstep? The main reason I'm asking about the shipping is because the Scarlet Wolph is currently in stock on their website, but it says that shipping is backlogged right now, so I was wondering if you ran into that when you got yours.
    And also, if you could only choose one of the possible upgrade options from the base model guitar, which one do you think would give you the best improvement when compared to the base model?
    Last thing lol, do you prefer the Phred Wolph model or the Tiger/Rosebud-style model?
    Cool video man, love me some Jerry tones and will probably spring for one of these pretty soon.

    Nice video...and nice playing. Being a total Gibson Les Paul guy, I have been looking at Phred Guitars for a few years now but never pulled the pin on one. After stumbling upon this video I think this may be the year. Question for you...any chance you have tabs for Morning Dew? Just a favorite of mine and wasn't lucky enough to catch Jerry do one all the times I saw The Dead play. Anyway if you can help with tabs totally grateful. Either way stay safe and keep on playing.

  • @ctcards2636
    @ctcards2636 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I own 5 Phred Wolfs and they have been my main guitars for almost 8 years. I have 4 of the standard model and I have one Green one. Love these guitars and even if you dont like the electronics, its easy enough to put new electronics into the amp. But the models I own play and feel and sound great. Also people who buy this dont have to be a dead head, this guitar like a Strat can fit so many peoples styles of music. People think im trying to copy Jerry.. Well that would mean everyone who plays a Strat is copying Buddy Holly or someone else. Funny how people dont look at the big picture. The amount of tones this guitar gets is impossible to get from most every guitar out there. If you have never tried a guitar with a preamp in, your missing out. I can get Knopfler tones out my Wolfs. I do play Grateful Dead and ive actually played with members of the Dead thruout the years, but this guitar is far from a one trick pony. PRS is one of the companies that understands electronics and how to offer people the most tonal options. They have guitars that seem to have gotten a little bit of their design from Jerrys guitars. A preamp imho should be in every guitar, because now when i pick up my other guitars, they just dont offer very many options. Anywhoo. Love Phred and his Wolf guitars, hes always there if you have a question or an issue. Its nice not to have to spend $10k to obtain a guitar like this and thats how much some of these replica guitars cost. Fender just released one that is $20K !! My guitars sound great, stay in tune, feel nice (love the neck profile) and offers me endless tones. Phred rocks ;-)
