    Thanks for the video. I just ordered a white rear set for my white seat model Y. I’m making the back bomb proof for my 2 young girls. I think these seat covers will let me relax that much more. - especially with 2 car seats that would otherwise be rubbing on the OEM Seats. Spills, sand mess or muddy shoes won’t be the end of the world.
    I took off all my protective covers on my model 3 to sell it (no seat covers) just on everything else. And it’s showroom condition. Glad I looked after it.

      That's smart. My latest video that I just released is another seat cover example...for a Model X! Thanks for watching!

    Just recently discovered you due my concern of white seats. I have a model 3 on order and went with black seats .. but I regret not going white and do have the option to switch to white interior. You’re videos are helping me making that decision quicker, but still for whatever reason hesitant

    • @BecauseTesla

      Hey there, welcome to the family! I do have a few videos about seat covers, but I also have a few videos about my honest opinions about the white interior to help people make up their mind. Bottom line is I will always choose white if given the option. I have a Cybertruck reserved, and my only concern about it is the lack of information regarding interior options. I’ve only seen demos with black seats. Hopefully white will be an option. If not, I’ll rely on the aftermarket for white seat covers to do the color change. Thanks again for watching!

    In your first video you stated they were a bit stiff. Did they ever break in? If so how long did it take?

    So hard to install it!! I think it’s best to go without any seat covers! 🥴🥴 We just did our driver’s side and it was very difficult.

    Nice feedback! A question: are front seats covers echangeable in case you see some more wear on the driver cover and want to switch with the passenger one?

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the front seat bottom covers are the exact same for both driver and passenger sides.

    Did you feel like the seat covers were necessary, or do you still feel like the OEM white is sustainable?
    Debating white v. black on my order but don’t want to need the covers.

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, thanks for the question. So I'm a HUGE fan of the factory white seats. For most people, they will be just fine without the seat covers. I really only recommend the seat covers for people that anticipate some wear on them...those people would be drivers for Uber/Lyft, or renting out via Turo, and the big one is those with kids. If you have kids and you're strict about not eating in the car, etc, you'll be fine without seat covers. But if you're like me, I'm constantly on the go, and often eat in my car with my family. I like the seat covers for that piece of mind. I have a few videos about my thoughts on the white interior, but here is the first one to help you make up your mind: th-cam.com/video/bmXS0wahBmM/w-d-xo.html

    I have a huge problem with OEM seats making my back warm.. have you noticed it being cooler with the perforations with these covers?

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I haven't noticed. I know Hansshow makes cooled seat covers, but they currently just have the black ones. If you have black seats, you're in luck. If you need white ones, I know they make them, but you'll need to reach out to them to request it. Does the seat cover itself has some cushion? My Model Y 2024 is super uncomfortable to sit in to the point of not being able to be in it for more than 10min. Looking for some alternatives and wondering if these have cushions.

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does have a tiny amount, but not enough to feel “cushioned”. You could get some foam to rest between the seat and the cover and it would look like it came from the factory that way. 😎

  • @anthonyrichmond6834
    @anthonyrichmond6834 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    which material did you go with? microfiber, space leather, brushed leather or nappa leather?

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Model 3 has Nappa Leather (this video), and I also have Taptes seat covers in our Model X (I have a different video for that one), but it is made from Space Leather. The Nappa leather is the most similar to the factory seat material.

    • @anthonyrichmond6834
      @anthonyrichmond6834 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BecauseTesla can you feel a difference between the two. I have a X that I’m looking to purchase the covers for. Was the price increase worth it for the Nappa? Does the space leather feel cheap?

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anthonyrichmond6834 Yes, you can feel a difference. Nappa leather is going to feel more like the factory material...which is why it costs more. The cheaper Space leather still feels nice. It doesn't feel cheap, but it does feel a tiny bit stiffer/thicker/more durable. It feels more like leather seats in a Ford truck than a Tesla. Please don't take that the wrong way. It's really nice for half the price of the Nappa. My wife really loves them. So the decision is to pay quite a bit for similar feeling material to the factory seats or pay half the price for really nice durable leather-like seat covers. Both are soft, but the Nappa is softer.

    Did you buy the backseat cup holder cover separately?

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it came with the kit. It zips to the backseat covers to hold them together. The front armrest cover also came with the kit.

    As a girl trying to do this myself, your video is very helpful. Unfortunately, I can't unhook the flap straps under the front seats (2023 M3). If you make another video, could you please add this basic information for us dorks? Thanks! I've tried to take pictures so I can study them...

    • @ErikStone1
      @ErikStone1 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you haven't already, step 1 would be to raise the height of the seat as far up as it can go. This will give you a little more room to work with. Are you referring to the straps that go from the back to the front of the seat, or straps going side to side?

    • @eleanorwilson7728
      @eleanorwilson7728 ปีที่แล้ว

      The straps that go back to front. There's no buckle! It seems they are connected to a metal square then stuck on a white square embedded in the seat button (top?). Lol.
      I've pulled, tried to get my nail to see if they snap off, etc.
      I'm concerned because Tesla told me my head test is not adjustable, so I'm wondering if I can undo these straps. Thank you for asking!

    • @BecauseTesla
      @BecauseTesla  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eleanorwilson7728 I'm not sure if I understand which straps you're talking about. Are you talking about the seat bottom that you sit on, or the seat back that you lean back on? We'll figure this out :)

    I have a 4 yr old model 3 and there is no stain or dirt in it! No dye transfer at all! What you are showing is quite garbage compared to what Tesla put in its cars

    • @1486230

      I kind of have to agree. For the price Taptes charges I wouldn’t have expected that kind of wear so quickly. My model 3 has over 70,000 miles and there’s not a single wear spot on any of the seats.

    Why are you using seat covers when you have leather seats? The leather should last you a long time as long as you take care of it. Use Chemical Guys Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner to make them last.

  • @justu2bnit17
    @justu2bnit17 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My view is that YOU bought the car so YOU should enjoy the quality factory seats instead of covering them up just so later you sell a well used car with pristine seats. If they don't look so good when you want to sell it, then that's the time to put on the seat covers. Plus, that peeling seat issue is unacceptable!!
