Hi Team, Ahhh damn it I was rushed for time on this edit and didnt even get to pre watch before render. Ahh well just so you all know the second weight I put in for GOLD Nugget is wrong. I cut pasted the first one - but hey thats all good the weights are on the scales at the end. For all those who join live, Thank you so much for you awesome support. And for those who watch the Video - make sure to shoot a comment. Will surely get back to you ;) HAPPY HUNTING M.G
Nice finds T, Re GPX charging - If you charge from a car or Auxiliary (Aux) battery, charging using 12 VDC uses less power than inverting 12 VDC to 240 VAC then back to the 8 VDC charging voltage. I would only use the 240 VAC charger if on mains or your genny is running anyway. It can also be about process, if you drive from camp to where you detect, put it on charge from the car or Aux while you drive. If you move spots put it on charge, if you stop for lunch put it on charge and when you head back to camp. I've measured my charging at 1.4 amps using the 12 V charger adapter and 2.5 amps when on inverter, makes no sense. These loads won't flatten a car battery and if done every opportunity, doesn't take long at the end of the day. I prefer my Aux as it is stable in the high 12 V range (12.9) when stopped and if charging DC-DC in boost at 14.4, both ok. My 4x4 runs nearer 15 V. Cheers Mike PS I have solar in car, on van, inverter and genny, the above is what I do when out.
Ahh thanks so much M - much appreciated mate. Yeah I dont often use the Inverter but is handy for a couple other things I need while out which are primarily 240v - battery and solar is my usual when out camping. As always enjoy and good luck mate, thanks for the detailed response. M.G
We're away for 6 weeks at a time so I charge the van battery with solar, and then charge the 4500 battery and the SP01 battery with the van battery. Too easy. Works a treat.
Hi mate, I have a jumper battery pack with two cigarette lighter plugs, USB port, light and it’s 1900 crank amps. I also have a 200 watt folding solar panel with built in regulator. I leave the panel out all day and plug in phone, iPad and other gear during the day, and the detector battery in the evening. It usually charges by the time I am ready for bed. I freecamp, sometimes for weeks in the one spot and always have enough power. When I move somewhere else, I plug the battery pack into the car cigarette lighter socket and always top up the detector battery as well
Hello Robert, thats absolutely fantastic. Thanks so much and I am sure many people will enjoy reading this post. Awesome - keep up the good work and good luck M.G
A fully charged GPX battery gives you about 10hrs detecting. Re-charge time is from 45 to 120 mins depending on discharge. I have a 100ah AGM battery with a lighter plug on the floor behind the front passenger seat in my ute. You can charge your detector battery plus your phone for 6 days straight no problems without having to use your car battery. I reckon you could even drop back to 80 AH without a drama. I have been involved in the Battery business for 20 years.
Ahh tip top stuff Adz, many thanks that will give people all they need to make a decision. Yeah I rarely start my car, just had to throw that in just incase someone drained a battery from something else. ;) Enjoy and many thanks for watching M.G
On ya MG just watched it. Great vid as usual. Sorry I havent been participating. I've been with you from the start. Just finding it really hard this year to get involved in the gold scene with the lockdown stopping me going out. Not long now so will be back on board momentarily. Watch this space ha ha . Cheers bro. Heading out soon like I msgd you. I gotta spot mate. Reefy with yours and my name on it. No one knows this spot. I'll be in touch brother
Ahh cool cool Robbo, yeah does take its toll being stopped from things and maybe makes the body and mind not even feel like getting out and about. Motivation drops as well, but the spark of finding gold is enough to keep us going for sure. The joy and excitement even just standing out in the peaceful bush with no interruptions is the best medicine for us for sure. All good mate and looking forward to that journey with you for sure. Cheers M.G
Gee you have your detector running absolutely spot on judging by that first nugget , great response at that depth and wait in hot ground ,👍👍👍 great stuff
Great vid buddy, it's awesome seeing that change to the clay layer and pretty much guarantee the nug just came out. Oh how do you leave a review on the stumpy.
Haha finally got to this comment. Yeehaa - yeah its great seeing material change and the gold just plonked in there. Ahh yes yes emailed that to you LOL
Thanks for all the charging ideas it will definitely help me going forward, I like the second battery idea we could recharge with the vehicle every second day. Great video as always MG thanks again
Hey hey Gippy - ah thats my pleasure mate. Hope it helped you and others out as well. Adz Out n About - advised using a 100AH battery and he advised it will charge your GPX battery for 5 to 6 days without needing a top up. So yeah thats a win win Good luck - M.G
hi just brought a gpx 4500 i have also just purchased a coiltek 14 inch mono coil whats the best way to get to know the machine Buy a .5 gram nugget to learn with any help much appreciated
Great video as always MG! And some nice finds indeed, I think you need some snickers and mars bars, nothing better than some chocolate on cold days with a cuppa, be well mate and catch you next time :-)
Thanks Alex, ahh yeah many chocs are good hey. Oooh nice warm cuppa's for sure. I surely have those pre detecting. Same same enjoy and catch ya in the next. Enjoy your weekend. Rain on the way hey matey.
All good Mish - been so busy havent had time to head across and watch your recent ones. Enjoy and talk soon. I see ya got a Silver Ring - be excited to see that one M.G
@@MinelabGold haha! Great vid as always mate, congrats on the couple of nuggies. Would love to swing by your way sometime to see how you goldies operate, we're in the same state but I'm nowhere near the gold regions. Maybe one day. :)
Well I was .34 gram off on that nice nugget! It is nice seeing someone finding gold with the 4500, God know I can't find anything with it. Very frustrated! Lots of rust nuggets and lead. My buddies are pulling gold out Feet away a from me and I find nothing! Not sure what the issue is but getting discouraged. Sorry I am a bit behind on your vids but will catch up soon brother!! Keep up the great videos!!!!!
Hopefully soon Peter, just been busy with contract work commitments. And last 2 weekends and next 2 are also training days booked. Got something exciting coming up for me and TH-cam will join the journey too
Always good fun joining you on live. Cool to find out that you are fond of a good blade too. Watch the chocolates, ur gonna ruin your appetite...🤣🤣🤣 Good news, I could use some, lol...😎✌️
Ahh thanks so much W - releasing those things I have been working on very very very soon. All complete just waiting for one more product to arrive back. I would say 100% in the next 2 weeks for sure. Ahh yeah love the blades - enjoy your day and night M.G

2.34on the first one...stupid fat finger shoulda been a 1 lol second hmmm with the iron 1.56 what the.... same as the first exactly??? That’s odd and very unlikely nice save on not dropping that slippery slab thx for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏻👊🏻 p.s. the gold I find while prospecting charges my batteries quite well....😁
Haha awesome - oh nah I told the live viewers and pinned a post saying how I was rushed for time and silly me cut and pasted the same weight without changing it. The second nugg was just over 1.5g - as always thanks for tuning in. Hah Gold charges the battery NICE.
@ Minelab Gold was a rushed day for me as well didn’t have time to read the comments like I usually do but I came damn close on the second one finally only took me six months lol thx for the explanation I still think it would be cool lol thx for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
I've got a kickass solar and battery set up. Best on the market. On the battery pack it has 12v sockets and usb portals. I can charge my GPX battery. Mobile phones, dog tracking system and run my fridge all on the one set up.
It's never a bad idea to carry extra batteries. I don't know if your detector has batteries that are removable, but if they are just swap in a fresh one.
Hi Ron, yeah they are removable mate. They last for 10 to 12 hours. But again depends on how hot the machine is running, how hot the grounds are and how many targets are swung over. The battery drains faster when swinging over target. Oh the old days I use to have 4 batteries for the GP when we carried around Motorbike Batteries ;) But then I updated to the lightweight Lithium when they became available. Many thanks for your comment and have a super week ahead.
@@MinelabGold thanks. Kings 4x4 center have some good battery packs too. I think they have 2 12v sockets and 2 usb portals and they are good quality.
