I have one of these and a US made Council Tools 1.5 pound head hickory handle pickaroon. The only thing the Council Tools does better is dragging very large rounds across the ground. 90% of the time I prefer using the Fiskars, it is much better at moving already split wood around.

That been my experience with the most pickaroons. It seems most have a place for a certain job. But I tend to always come back to the fiskars now

Wish we had those 40 years ago I might have stayed with wood. (naw)

If I had your setup I would not touch wood lol. It actually is very helpful. I was amazed. As I age I learned to work smarter by every means necessary a few dollars spent here a few dollars spent there my back will probably last another 10 years. 😂

I use a log rite hookaroon which is a bit longer (36”) and a bit heavier. I get firewood delivered and dumped. It’s a Godsend.
    They are such useful tools.

I have heard nothing but good things about the log rite hookaroon. I don't think everyone realizes how much these hookaroon can save your back and body. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share what you use that way others know of other good options

Got my hookaroon today and already love it. Totally agree that it's going to change the way I work with wood. I just had a tree come down and this is going to make cutting up, moving, and piling a lot easier! Any thoughts on what the graphics on the side mean? Clearly they don't want you to hammer it - but not sure what one of the graphics means.... something like don't move side to side?

Honestly I'm not really sure about that one either. Lol but the warranty on these tools they really don't ask too many questions. I've gone to a level now where I only buy fisker tools. That said I really appreciate you watching and commenting

I believe that means don't use it as a splitting wedge.
