Il add this in just incase if anyone needs it, because TBH its a very important setting that was added recently and is NOT mentioned in this video. AMD FidelityFX is a MUST TURN ON if you are on a low end PC. Adding up to 20 more FPS on "Ultra Performance". Though most low end PC's like mine will do perfectly well on Balanced or Performance. As for FSR2 Sharpness, I saw no difference. Hope this helps!
I wish Squad would implement a fov system like Arma Reforger. In Reforger you can have a higher fov and still use the optics on weapons as the fov seems to toggle back to a lower setting when aiming. Also, when recommending clearing the user cache or reinstalling it would be helpful to include a note about backing up keybinds. I always have to look up a guide each time so that I don’t waste 15 minutes trying to remember all my binds.

Pre V3 was getting a pretty solid 60fps capped (with odd dips when a lot of action going on), post V3 with same settings framerate is all over the place 30-50fps with the occasional 60ish (cleared cache after update, made little to no difference). Really can't enjoy the game with such a variable framerate, I'd go as far as saying it's barely playable, in general V3 is a step backwards. Ryzen 5 3600, 16gb ram, rx5700, installed on ssd. Edit: 3.0.1 hotfix mostly fixed performance and stability issues that were introduced with v3, still get 10-15fps less on Black Coast.
@@ltpetsema876 The hotfix (3.0.1) mostly fixed performance and stability for me, back to 2.16 performance on most the maps, a capped 60fps with a few dips here and there, Black Coast is around 45-50fps with the odd dip, much more playable now though.
I’m so thankful for this video, I’ve been struggling with graphics because I have a low end pc and don’t play that much. But now I don’t have to be annoyed because my graphics look great❤
I dont know how and why but I was pretty much the only player in the world with a decent pc who had INSANE framedrops and total freeze for 2 or 3 seconds each time I encountered enemy close range without them even shooting at me. It became even worse when we both started engaging each other. So I was only able to fight from distance and try to ambush enemies and even then, if an airstrike came in anywhere on the map, I had framedrops and didn't hit the enemy but this is an issue many have as I heard. So anymways. When 3.2 (the new 3.2) came along, it really fixed those CQC stutters and freezes! 2 years in, I can finally play and have shootouts and do CQC and even kill guys!!! My experience with squad just turned up from 0 to 100 real quick. I really love this game eventhough I have been playing Arma 3 for 9 years now, it is not hard for me to say that I like Squad more for the fun of it. But nothing comes close to Arma 3 when it comes to actual intelligence and strategy in order to just stay alive. At some point in Arma you may even find yourself avoiding scenarios or fights but with Squad it's like "Arma Light" and Call of Duty just came together to give you a semi realistic yet hard and fun game in which it is most important to communicate and think rather than carrying big guns or rushing in.

It’s incredible work you’ve done here. It amazes me that developers put settings into games with zero education to their audience on what these things do or how to tune them. They’re clearly out there for the audience to adjust, but across the board the developers themselves completely neglect the education part.
Very true, maybe its just a matter of time, its kind of complicated and most people just go into a game and play without even changing settings. I always tweak games before playing so i wont have to do i t later. Powerful GPUs are a pretty new thing so maybe the environment has to evolve in its own pace
Really unhappy with the Anti-Aliasing. Off is unplayable and on is blurry. Using a combination with Res.scale now which is taxing. Squad needs more AA-Methods!
is it not possible to override the in game Anti-Aliasing method with GPU settings, for AMD (I'm guessing nvidia will have something similar) under advanced you can choose to use in game settings, enhance in game settings or override in game settings>Anti-Aliasing method (in game settings are fine for me, but it might be something worth taking a look at for yourself).

My textures are blurry for some reason, I know it isn't the topic of the video but I tried everything, followed some guides and nothing gave me a solution, does anyone know how to fix this issue?
One thing I noticed in my case is Squad runs a million times better on an SSD. I had lots of problems with lag and frame drops playing on an HDD until I switched to a m.2 nvme ssd. Now my frames are pretty consistent and the lag is almost non existent. Just something to consider. Also, I like to play at 4k native resolution and 50% render resolution (1440p). That way I get some of the benefits of 4k but the performance of 1440p. Works great for me.
24GB is such a weird amount of ram to then also be at 2133 mhz, but yea 32gb seems to be a massive improvement for these "new" styles of games that have large maps. Rust squad Escape From Tarkov No Mans Sky BF2042 Arma etc
Vsync doesn't do anything with less fps than refresh rate? You sure? Absolutely convinced it'll still buffer frames and possibly further reduce fps (to half or a third the refresh rate) and definitely increase latency.
Today i reinstalled Squad, Think iwas tripping with the black smudging. Game still running good on 2060 Super but my gpu usage goes from 40 % before to 80 -90 % now especially on Skorpo or high density trees map. Edit: My SSD was full, make sure you let 10 - 20 % free storage on it and the game will run smoother
Thank you so much. Squad was running great for 700 hours and now after that last small update I keep getting fps drops that makes it unplayable. I cleared my cache messed with graphics and used Navida to optimize the game but nothing seems to work. I gone to just reinstalling the game so I will try again when it's done downloading.
@@levihill7897 nope. I had to put all my graphics to low and I still will get some fps drops it's just not so much its not completely unplayable. I don't know what happened though cause I used to play it on high.
Am I the only one watching this, and hoping that it’ll fix my sudden and extreme frame drops (that last a whole minute or two)? Because although I haven’t tweaked my settings accordingly to what is said in the video, I really hope that these changes will fix my issue.
Glad to see I'm not alone. Everythings going fine then all a sudden I suddenly drop to 0,xx fps for anywhere between 30 sec to over a min. Happens maybe once per game and I have no idea what's causing it, but due to this reason I'm scared to go pilot in live games, I'd hate for this shit to happen while I'm transporting a full squad...
That Higher FOV to my understanding is an unreal engine bug since ReadyOrNot had the same issue when they added in FOV Slider and the Devs fixed it in 2 days but I could be wrong since It didnt exactly match 100% but the Low zoom and smaller optic issue was the same.
Just to comment on this in case people skip over the warning! Clearing Cache resets everything so don't do it unless it's a last resort and your settings are saved!
Hmm I got a gtx 970 & i7-4790k. My draw is really low like 8ms, but "game" (which is cpu as you said) and gpu seems to be almost linked, always at the same number going from 15 to 18 roughly. So I guess if I got a better gpu it wouldn't even help much because I still need a better cpu as well?

I got a R5 3600 paired with a RX 6600 XT , my frames are around 100, but it spikes pretty frequently and makes the game unplayable, the Frame, Game, Draw and GPU ms`s are going insane, like 3-40 even 50 (usually it sits somhere around 10) , thats when i get the fps drops and i dont know why is this happening, anyone else has or had this problem? i would really appreciate if someone can help me out
Bro I have the exact same setup as you and I get around 50 fps max on ultra (dips when in fights) and around 60 fps on med-high. I don't know why this is so? What settings do you run your game on? Now coming to your problem my friend also had stutters when playing on hdd which went away on switching to ssd. Maybe try that? Also how much gigs of ram you got?
Also if you're already on ssd and have good ram with decent speed maybe try verifying game files and checkout more fixes on squad's official reddit page
Got it on my m.2 , about ram i got 16 gigs at 3600 cl17 , verified the game files, dont know what else to do, i will upgrade to 32 gigs , might help, also im running medium settings

Might have found the issue, i went to a friend and borrowed another 16gigs , when i ran the game the radeon software was saying that @20 gigs of ram is used, so i will upgrade either to 32 or 24 soon and let you know if its a permanent fix
I have a gtx 980 4gb vram. Followed the low specs on this video and got horrible graphics and fps. Then I reset the graphics to default and after put graphics on medium preset which gave me good graphics and more than 60 fps.

And also, you are talking about stuff where you dont have all the competence you need. Even when you cap your fps at 60 on a 60hz Monitor you will still get screen tearing if you have V-Sync Off. You are missing the core functionality (idea) of V-Sync. Anyways, to all gamers out there, in almost all games you should turn Off V-Sync no matter what Monitor or PC you have. I wont explain why, inform yourself but RE 7 is one of the games where you should turn it On, the screen tearing there is crazy.
i5 2500k + 10503gb Vram + 12gb ram- i tried doing all epic settings. it runs smooth but it will not render/load textures of trees grass characters etc. on my laptop i am using ryzen 7 5800H 16gb ram 3060 6gb all low graphics settings but it looks really good lmao
My Vsync is opposite even when i have 144hz monitor and average fps around 70. if i dont have vsyn on i am getting screen tearing. And isnt that what vsync is for, making low fps game run better with high hz monitor

Hey MOI! i recently got a 4060, i upgraded from a 1660 super - and i cant quite getting looking like i had it. Are these settings still relevant with recent updates?
Server Connection Closed. I've ran into this issue a lot where I'll get into a game and after about 15 minutes it will randomly kick me out back to the menu and say server connection closed with no warning signs. I am able to run at 60 fps on full graphics and don't have issues with internet. Not sure how to fix this.
After testing, a max FPS should ALWAYS be set, preferably on a driver level - this has the benefits of reducing heat & wear on the components. For testing it should be turned off, to better see the impact of settings and where one is. As a minimum 120 fps is recommended. V-sync should ALWAYS be off for ANY PVP game due to its severe latency penalty as well as performance impact. Amongst advanced users there is not even a debate about it.
V-sync with G-sync makes playing at anything framerate below the refresh rate of your monitor decently fluid. There is a slight input delay increase, but I like it.
@@FunnyUro Thats what I thought, but according to nvidia in the control panel it recommends the best experience is with gsync and vsync on, and low latency mode on ultra, with this itll also automatically set the max fps to 3 below the monitors refresh rate. So im not sure why its better than just gsync on with low latency on ultra, or how the technology works. However nvidia does say its the best option
@@wadiyatalkinabeet2514 RX580 isn't mid end (it's basically an overclocked rx480), I run a rx5700 and consider that to be mid range, I used to run a rx480 8gb, good cards for price but even in its day (2016) they were only mid end cards or 'entry level VR cards' (if I remember correctly, Vega was AMD's high end cards of that gen). Anyway, GPU's your weak link... saying that, in big firefights, lots of explosions, smoke going off etc I get dips to 45 with a similar setup 3600+16gb ram+ssd+rx5700 and it seems that many others even with substantially better setups get dips, pacifically dips to 45fps, so maybe it's just a game engine thing.

Same problem mate! On the new map black coast I even have dips as low as 20fps and massive lag spikes which makes it unplayable for me😔

If you buy a fast gpu, you basically need a fast CPU to keep up with it

Don't use Nvidia gerforce expierence to optimize the game. It will only make your FPS worse.

max fps can raise and lower your frametime. if its bouncing all over the placedial that in.
I think my radeon 550 can't handle this. As soon as I downloaded it. The frame rate came from the 90's.

Got it on my m.2 , about ram i got 16 gigs at 3600 cl17 , verified the game files, dont know what else to do, i will upgrade to 32 gigs , might help, also im running medium settings
@@crististancu9662 okay so if you’ve got it on your m2 and have decent ram idk what it might be. Maybe someone with experience can help? Meanwhile try capping your fps ingame so that you don’t have a lot of stuttering. Also i have no clue why I don’t get the same fps as you with the same setup
Might have found the issue, i went to a friend and borrowed another 16gigs , when i ran the game the radeon software was saying that @20 gigs of ram is used, so i will upgrade either to 32 or 24 soon and let you know if its a permanent fix

I have a gtx 980 4gb vram. Followed the low specs on this video and got horrible graphics and fps. Then I reset the graphics to default and after put graphics on medium preset which gave me good graphics and more than 60 fps.

And also, you are talking about stuff where you dont have all the competence you need. Even when you cap your fps at 60 on a 60hz Monitor you will still get screen tearing if you have V-Sync Off. You are missing the core functionality (idea) of V-Sync. Anyways, to all gamers out there, in almost all games you should turn Off V-Sync no matter what Monitor or PC you have. I wont explain why, inform yourself but RE 7 is one of the games where you should turn it On, the screen tearing there is crazy.

i5 2500k + 10503gb Vram + 12gb ram- i tried doing all epic settings. it runs smooth but it will not render/load textures of trees grass characters etc. on my laptop i am using ryzen 7 5800H 16gb ram 3060 6gb all low graphics settings but it looks really good lmao

My Vsync is opposite even when i have 144hz monitor and average fps around 70. if i dont have vsyn on i am getting screen tearing. And isnt that what vsync is for, making low fps game run better with high hz monitor

Hey MOI! i recently got a 4060, i upgraded from a 1660 super - and i cant quite getting looking like i had it. Are these settings still relevant with recent updates?
Server Connection Closed. I've ran into this issue a lot where I'll get into a game and after about 15 minutes it will randomly kick me out back to the menu and say server connection closed with no warning signs. I am able to run at 60 fps on full graphics and don't have issues with internet. Not sure how to fix this.

After testing, a max FPS should ALWAYS be set, preferably on a driver level - this has the benefits of reducing heat & wear on the components. For testing it should be turned off, to better see the impact of settings and where one is. As a minimum 120 fps is recommended.
V-sync should ALWAYS be off for ANY PVP game due to its severe latency penalty as well as performance impact. Amongst advanced users there is not even a debate about it.
V-sync with G-sync makes playing at anything framerate below the refresh rate of your monitor decently fluid. There is a slight input delay increase, but I like it.

@@FunnyUro yes lol. Just cap fps 2 - 3 fps below gsync refresh rate so for me I have a 240hz monitor I cap at 237
@@FunnyUro Thats what I thought, but according to nvidia in the control panel it recommends the best experience is with gsync and vsync on, and low latency mode on ultra, with this itll also automatically set the max fps to 3 below the monitors refresh rate. So im not sure why its better than just gsync on with low latency on ultra, or how the technology works. However nvidia does say its the best option

@@wadiyatalkinabeet2514 RX580 isn't mid end (it's basically an overclocked rx480), I run a rx5700 and consider that to be mid range, I used to run a rx480 8gb, good cards for price but even in its day (2016) they were only mid end cards or 'entry level VR cards' (if I remember correctly, Vega was AMD's high end cards of that gen).
Anyway, GPU's your weak link... saying that, in big firefights, lots of explosions, smoke going off etc I get dips to 45 with a similar setup 3600+16gb ram+ssd+rx5700 and it seems that many others even with substantially better setups get dips, pacifically dips to 45fps, so maybe it's just a game engine thing.
@@Voodoo_S3 I see, I see. I have heard my friends with beast PCs complain about the optimization of the game tbf so it could well be a game engine thing. Either way 45fps for some reason doesn't stop me having fun ahah
