  • John Leguizamo chats with ET’s Lauren Zima at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Radhika Jones at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. The actor reacts to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock during the ceremony. Leguizamo suggests the 'King Richard' star should have offered the comedian an apology in his acceptance speech. The voice of 'Encanto's Bruno also reflects on the success of Disney's animated musical.

That is exactly what I thought. The joke was really in poor taste/bad but it would have been forgotten within minutes. Will Smith made the unfortunate error in judgement when he resorted to violence. It was a violent act, which makes me question the actor's character now. He could have addressed the matter backstage but he now has millions of witnesses to his act. Most unfortunate indeed, and now everyone is talking about this. What a stupid thing to do.

This guy says exactly how I felt. Will Smith acted like a little boy while Chris Rock acted with grace, dignity and maturity. When a man acts with violence when someone jokes or even insults his wife, don't be mistaken, it's not to defend her honor. It's to defend his property, manhood and pride. He just sent the message that Jada can't fight her own battles. Can't she defend herself? More like, can't either one of them take a joke? Why does he feel the need to act as if she is a child? There's nothing sadder than a person who chooses a life in the limelight who can't take a joke. If you're such a wimp that you can't handle a joke about you or your famous spouse, you need to either grow up or get out. I can't ever watch another movie or program with that ham-fisted punk or his wife who rolled her eyes and set him out to do her bidding. Everybody saw Will Smith laughing at first. I wonder where Jada Pinkett got that magic dog whistle. I'd like to get me one because she sent that message so fast and silently, I didn't even notice when she snatched up Will's balls and put them in her purse!

Definitely. Will Smith pushed black and brown people back 30 years as the unwanted because of stereotypical thinking like they won't know how to behave, they are loud and aggressive. People have been fighting for black and brown people to be recognized more in the industry and in an instant Will flushed all of their progress and hard work down the drain. How do you think that made Denzel feel, a man who knows how to defend his wife's honor. Will got his own issues to overcome, one being his wife. Will was laughing with the jokes until he caught Jada's side eye and then went up on stage. Her exposure about her entanglement especially on her red table really messed him up.

I would like to know how John Leguizamo can say the Oscars were tarnished because of this incident. The Oscars were tarnished from it's inception. How about in 1940 when actress Hattie McDaniel was nominated for an Oscar for Gone With The Wind, and was told she couldn't attend because she was Black. But only after Clark Gable and a few more people pulled some strings, was she allowed in. But they still made her sit at a table far away from her white co-stars in the back. What about the time that a naked man ran across the stage while actor David Niven was at the podium. What about 2003 when the Oscars gave best director Oscar to Roman Polanski after her was CONVICTED of DRUGGING AND R*PING A13YEAR OLD CHILD AND THEN FLED THE COUNTRY TO AVOID PUNISHMENT???? What about 2017 when the Oscars announced La La Land winner for best picture. And after the whole cast went on stage and said their thank you speeches, they were told it was a mistake, Moonlight won best picture. So John PLEASE go have a seat with that DOG WHISTLE. There are too many RECEIPTS hiw the Oscars have always been tarnished.

LATINOS UNIDOS LATINOS THE STRONGEST: Mr. John Leguizamo is a LEGEND - LEGENDARIOS I have the up most respect for my, Brother. It was not an easy road for him. In his Stand Up just like his movies, there is always a message. And he speaks his mind with No filter. Being Native American & and Puerto Rican born in Manhattan N.Y.C. I too had too dig very deep and push through the adversity that confronted me on a daily bases. Same said of My Brother, Mr. John Leguizamo. But he has achieved much more than I. And I am so proud of him. As a Vanguard and Commando he "Battled his Way Through all kinds of prejudice and struggles in his Career and "LIFE"!!!!!..... Pushing through any and ALL Obstacles that got in his Way, With the Blood, Sweat, and Tears of a "BATTLE HARDEN" WARRIOR He never once lost his identity as a "STRONG AND MENTALLY DURABLE LATINO" and Continued his Journey with Unbreakable Perseverance!!!!!! And when he would come across a dead end?.... THEN HE WOULD "BREAKTHROUGH" and continue his "RISE" beyond the Stars.
He reminds me of a young Freddy Prince (May he rest in POWER because just like Leguizamo, everything he did was unique and Powerful) He lives in our hearts forever💪
And Leguizamos achievements shall too live in our hearts forever💪
Congratulations Mr. John Leguizamo You are THE UNDISPUTED CHAMPION OF LIFE

Hollywood is used for mind control so that ppl will be distracted all the time from paying attention on how the country is actually run to the ground by the power elites who enrich their coffers. Socialism for themselves and capitalism for mainstreet.
These Hollywood celebs vote Democrat. So, the rules are different for them. Will doesn't even have to apologize for his actions. He will be back on the Oscar stage soon. Don't be surprised if the Democrat party mainstream media and late night aholes vigorously defend his actions and Hollywood rewards him with a movie deal for his 'suffering'. Will Smith is known to get physical. He slapped a fan in some foreign country couple of years ago.
Already TH-cam has censored this incident from its suggestions. Their BigTech social media will bury this by tomorrow.
