I first saw this movie YEARS ago when I was much much younger (around 8 or so) and this scene is what I remember most!!!! I could remember everything from the song lyrics, to the all white outfits, to the end when they're walking down the street and singing!!! Now that I'm an adult I can appreciate the entire movie which makes this scene even better :-) Thanks for posting!!!!!

this song gets stuck in my head so easily. my friend and i actually do the final dance they do on the street down our streets singing "you don't own me!" it's kinda awesome :)
i watched this with my mom when i was super little freaking vhs time, and i came home today and saw she got it on dvd, lol i instantly remembered this song.

Love this song and movie. Some say Hollywood is America's royalty. I do tend to look at many stars and think, "sure... but they haven't had my struggles." But, in this case, I understand what they mean by royalty. Because, contemporary royalty sets an example to follow. And that's what these ladies, too.

Get a rough deal in a divorce, Steve? If so I'm very sorry, BUT, I was blindsided with a divorce, there was another woman involved, and I'm here to tell you that I cheered outloud during this movie. Are there two sides to every story? Yes. Were the women in this movie perfect? No, but they didn't deserve to be treated the way they were. I love the movie, I love the comeuppance that those three men got, I loved the way that the women helped others with their settlements, and I love this song.
