  • On June 2, 2024, engineer Dominque Hogue made his last run on the FSDL as he moves on to a new job as a boiler inspector. We wish him the next and have enjoyed having him on the FSDL!

Thank you very much for filming and uploading this Seth. It’s perfect.
To all those who don’t know, Dominique is my older brother by three and a half years. We are very close. I consider him to be my best friend.
During the trip my brother wanted his family that could make it up front in the first row of the car.
So our Dad, my brother’s wife and I sat up in the front row of the first car. She filmed the right side of the car, I filmed the middle and as you see, Seth filmed the left. Seth and my brother’s wife got the best footage for sure.
My apologies if anyone hears crying in the video. That is me. It was a very emotional day for me. One with a lot of tears, yet a lot of smiles and laughs. The tears didn’t hit until I got on the train and it really kicked in he was leaving.
To work at Silver Dollar City as an engineer on the Frisco Silver Dollar Line was indeed my brother’s dream job ever since he was a child.
He wrote a letter to Silver Dollar City when he was around seven years old and stated how his dream job was to run the steam locomotives there on the Frisco Silver Dollar Line as an engineer. My parents kept it because it was so pure.
We were born and raised in the Branson area. We grew up with the city itself. Yet Silver Dollar City was always our go-to place as children and as adults.
Silver Dollar City was truly like a second home to us.
I will say this, you will not find a sweeter man, nor a harder worker than my brother. He puts his entire heart and soul into whatever he does.
There were so many times where I seen him visit with children, young adults and older adults between train stops at the station and treated everyone with such love and care. No matter who it was.
In relation to the video, the first car of the train here was filled with family and friends of my brother Dominique.
The man who operated the engine with Dom, who is Ryan, is like a brother to he and I. So he had family with him in the cab of the locomotive.
I will speak for my brother on this and say that we couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to be on his last train.
It was a truly holy day. Truly blessed by God.

Thank you for clarifying his position in the description. He has told me before on what he’s doing but I couldn’t remember. We’re still gonna have to behave because he works for the state. Lol

This train ride was definitely not one for the whistle haters😂
And if you are a whistle hater then you really shouldn’t be riding the train lol
