    Wish I lived close by, could solve the small tree issue you mentioned in a couple of hours. Since I don't I'll try to explain. Get 2 lengths of pipe with a diameter slightly shorter than the length of the bucket teeth. Use 1/2 to 3!4" plate 8" wide , step in 2" from both edges, cut 4" teeth in plate like so VVVVVVVVV you now have 2 pieces, weld each to pipe. Cut holes in each pipe to correspond to teeth on bucket and thumb. Weld heavy chain to pipe to anchor to bucket. You now have easily removable fitted fine tooth jaws to rip out the small stuff. Not being able to put a tape on the bucket and teeth, you understand those measurements are all estimated, but I'm betting your welder could whip that up in no time. Love your clearing and beaver dam videos. Keep them coming!

      The drone shows the field next door with the poles (that Chris put in a year back) that are for an orchard/vineyard(?). I'm guessing some of the lake water will be to irrigate them. The map in the intro to this job also showed a wedding platform next to lake.

    Thanks for the video, the new loader appears to work well for you. The trees are definitely small on that property for your area. The relatively large oak you pulled out about 8 minutes into the video looked like it had a shallow root system due to "hard pan" which is most likely the cause for the small trees.

    @waltermattson5566 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    That was a great video. I didn’t realize how much bigger the 250 is until I saw the drone footage. For getting the dirt off the stumps would it be feasible to build something heavy with a few very heavy duty arms sticking out theat you could just rub the stump against a few times? You could just use it on jobs when the dirt really sticks to the roots or have the other excavator do it after you dig them out.

  • @ohhpaul7364
    @ohhpaul7364 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The drone footage makes it look like the dam will be pointed towards the road at an angle. Whereas with the original overhead shot, I thought the dam would be mostly parallel with the road. Kind of amazing how it changes once you remove the trees. good water flow too, may be a pain to work with but good for the pond.

    • @RangieNZ
      @RangieNZ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is going to be a lake. You keep hearing Chris saying 'shooting levels' - i.e. use a laser to set heights, then work to those. Watch the earlier videos too.

    • @MostelsRoofing
      @MostelsRoofing 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keith Brettell follows the grade as water will be all the same level at any given point

    • @keithbrettell2058
      @keithbrettell2058 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've watched the other videos, does 'set the heights, then work to those' affect the shape? I guess to some extent it does, but it seems like it would be really easy to clear too many trees and then you've got an open area that was supposed to be trees.

    • @TheBrushcutter
      @TheBrushcutter 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@keithbrettell2058 the contour of the land at full pool is what ultimately determines the shape of any body of water. If you look at topographic maps the little red lines show what a pond would look like in hilly terrain.

    That is now the end of that stream. Whoever lives downstream can kiss their stream goodbye. That pond will require a lot of water to fill and it will lose a tremendous water due to evaporation. This is why people down steam hate when people upstream put in ponds, etc.
