I remember I was hit in the face. I saw it coming too. For a brief moment, it almost felt like you can see the ball coming to you in slow motion. In that moment, I knew what I had to do. I had to dodge it, obviously. But my body was frozen. I saw it coming, ball had a “slow motion” moment, but I couldn’t move. I didn’t cry nor did I drop to the floor. It was like I was in so much pain, I couldn’t do anything else other then hold or rub my cheek/chin area.
I love the BS job ply-by-play guys and analysts dish out in this kind of situation. On one hand they want you to believe that this guy can throw so accurately that he can zero in on the black outline of the plate. On the other hand, it wasn't his fault that he hit the batter standing a foot and a half to two feet off the plate. Can't have it both ways boys. If the guy can't throw accurately enough to keep the ball over the plate, he needs to go back to packing groceries. The grounds crew puts plenty of fertilizer on the field, they don't need any help from you.
Question: How come the batters are being hit ? Why are the " catchers "seldom hit........and if the catcher is hit.....most times its because the ball has been touched by the batters bat. The batter can just step out of the way....and they just stand there and get hit ????? When playing catch with my brother I never got hit by his 100 mile per hour ball...... stepped to the side and reached to catch it. So whats the problem here ? Are the batters sleeping ???
@@jeremyd.2156the majority of the batters are a good 3-4 feet from the plate. If the goal is to throw the ball over the plate, a lot of the pitchers are doing a super poor job.

1:51 When the announcer said "Rojas is a good contact man", I don't think he meant in that way.
"If you are not wearing glasses, he will hit you in the contact"
make one just for the mets
Cards too
Loved the TMNT them played in the one clip.

12:01 ???
Most of these dudes were crowding the hell out of the plate. Gotta take the risk with the reward
I feel bad for andres gimenez and Ty France
I wish we had freakin replays on some of these plays cuz some of these plays the ball doesn’t even hit the batter but they “act” like it does
Ty France seems to lead the majors, or close to leading the majors in getting hit every year for the past 3-4 years
As my coach used to say "wear it" that's as good as a hit.
If they crowd the plate, they are likely to get hit. No pitcher has an obligation to not pitch inside. No sympathy whatsoever
I don't know about y'all, but I wouldn't throw a ball at someone that's holding a bat.
Absolutely the best part of baseball. I’m laughing my ass off
The best part of baseball is seeing people in pain from being hit by the ball? Are you a sadist or something?

Most of the ones who get hit are really close to the plate. The plate they're trying to send the ball over
