As an adopted child myself, I take great offence at how malignant Marge is inside that ignorant, hate fueled head of hers. When I heard her say this woman wasn't a 'real' mother, I felt my blood pressure go way up! To so maliciously claim that an adopted mother isn't a mom at all, in every way that matters most, was one the most vile, uneducated, nasty things I've ever heard her say to someone. My mom died when I was 3. My stepmother was amazing. I knew she loved me and I loved her with all my heart. She passed away 20 years ago and I still miss her. How infuriating and disgusting that MTG thinks only biological mothers are real parents. We've all seen the way she treats children.

I'm Canadian, which makes it none of my business. When my wife and I adopted both our children, it was completed by a judge in an actual courtroom. In closing the proceedings, the judge said " this child is recognized by the court as if he were born to you". Marjorie says I'm not a father and my wife is not a real mother. I would say ask my adult children. I'm pretty sure that's the real benchmark. Get rid of this STUPID embarrassment to your country's image.

I was adopted as an infant, brought home at 2 weeks old and very ill (fetal alcohol syndrome that I wasn't even aware of until my 40s) My mother stayed up all night and walked the floor with me, took me to Docs, and finally my Grandma suggested goats milk which worked well and began my recovery. My adoptive parents are the ones that raised me, loved me, guided me and worried themselves sick over me during the teen years. My mom once asked me if I wanted to know my birth mother as Mom knew who it was and kept in touch with her periodically, every few years. I told Mom no. I know who my Mom is, it's you and has always been you. I feel like I was lucky that Mom picked me. Just one example of my loving Mom...I knew I was adopted from my earliest childhood because I got to celebrate my birthday and then 2 weeks and 2 days after that I got to celebrate my homecoming day. So I got presents and cake twice, but what a great idea to not only make me aware that I was adopted but to make it a happy, celebratory event. MTG, you tell me that she wasn't a 'real' mother. As a MOTHER of adopted children, I will say that MTG has once again proven herself to be completely lacking in humanity. Vile, insulting and cruel statements are pretty much par for the course for her. The law identifies me as a "mother" and my husband as a "father" on every legal and official document we have regarding our children. Our kids have been calling us Mom and Dad for over 27 years.
Not only that, MTG was sneering at the woman, calling her, "Just a political activist", when MTG is a political activist every day!

This horrid attack really highlighted Marge Greens depravity. I was watching that hearing and my husband happened to be sitting in the other room. He’s not very interested in politics, doesn’t engage in it much. He overheard Marge and from the other room said, WHAT THE FUCK, that was disgusting. Even the normies think MTG is insane.
MTG was pissed because she had to stay home with her kids and ACTUALLY help them with their homework and be embarrassed because she doesn't know any of the subjects.
As a military widow and single mom of a special needs child, I am fighting cancer and homelessness. We are falling through the cracks. My son is over 18, so all help is gone, even though he needs constant care. We suffer food insecurity already. This cut in SNAP benefits is devastating. I pray for all the single moms out there struggling to provide for their children. 🙏

The rich congressmen with government benefits can't relate and don't care. Our country needs to do better when it comes to the families of our fallen soldiers!

As a biological parent I would never tell another person their presence as a parent isn't the same as mine. That parent is loving and caring. Then that person is a parent.
My stepfather was more of a father than my biological father was. I only saw my dad every other weekend, if we were lucky and my dad got time off from driving semis. So my stepfather raised me and taught me how to be a real adult. Not these overgrown children the Republican party seems to produce these days.

I have the utmost respect for Randi Weingarten and for her dedication to teachers across America
Teachers (at least below high school) also wanted to be in school because they see first hand how little kids end up learning with online only lessons. The decision to open or close was handled by individual school districts and very few followed the federal study on flu transmission and mitigation in school buildings that was published a year before covid broke out. The blame is 100% on crappy school boards and administrators. The vast majority of the bad ones were right wingers, but sadly even normal districts screwed this up to and closed for no reason.
My local district actually followed the study by adjusting hvac to make sure fresh air cycled at least 3 times an hour per room(more in most rooms), they hired extra staff to sanitize desks multiple times a day in each classroom, and everyone wore a mask no matter how many stupid parents claimed masks were harmful to the school board. They only ended up closing for a couple of weeks to do online schooling and that can be blamed entirely on the horrible parents purposely infecting their kids by refusing to use masks or social distance outside of school.
Closing schools (or opening unsafely) was caused by ignorance spewed by right wingers or parents purposely spreading the disease by not wearing masks.

I home schooled a friends child when his school was closed. He went back to school and was way ahead of his peers, his next school report actualy stated tge teaches couldn't believe the improvement. He also had huge fun doing it. If MTGs chikd suffered then that is her fault she should have looked after her child better
Her children were grown. One daughter is 26. She had very little, if any, impact.

Families come in many different forms today. What about grandparents that are raising their grandkids? Some have adopted their grandkids for legal reasons. I find it incredibly insulting.
