I actually like the way Kenjaku went out. Takaba was something he created that went beyond his own potential. In the end, his own culling games got him killed I do wish he had a meeting with Yuji though

I'm yet to see someone mention how smart of a way to recycle Geto from volume 0 Kenjaku really is, Gege just took the same design, same power and even his memories, and then made it into an amazing plot point.

I’m cool with Kenjaku dying how he did after having the time of his life with Takaba. We see earlier in the manga that he’s only done everything he’s done out of pure boredom. He’s what happens when you live for too long. You run out of things to live for, which also counters Yuji’s previous desire to eat the fingers and die for something. Kenjaku himself had become a hollow shell, living for nothing. And getting to fight a truly unique curse user like Takaba have him something to enjoy. He hadn’t had that much fun before. And the minute he got to enjoy something was when he got killed. So I wonder if there’s some kinda symbolism in that maybe? Idk if that’s the case, but just my thoughts.

@rearistt5865 Speaking of Hakari, I think that there is no way Hakari did not get really strong if he was being compared to Yuta. Hakari might be a last resort, reserve player. I also wonder how he got his arm back after the Kashimo fight. I think his technique also gives him a limited refresh from damage outside of his domain. You remember the re-up he used twice against Kashimo to heal damage inside his domain before he got the bonus. I believe those resulted from the balls he throws. Kenjaku might come back to fight Sukuna. It is unlikely the cast will end up defeating him. I get the feeling Sukuna is coasting.
Yuki passes her will to Choso who passes it to Yuji, on the other side of the coin Kenjaku’s will was inheirited by Sukuna but not out of respect. Its gotta trade hands one more time to make it symmetrical. So. If Megumi comes back hes a prime candidate for that.
I dont think Megumi can really do anything anymore, his ten shadows was absolutely destroyed. The only thing that could make him threatening tho is the inheritance he gets from being sukunas vessel.
Up to this point, Sukuna has been paralleling Gojo and Mahito in numerous aspects. I'll just say that a Prison Realm type moment or a "Shall I save you, Mahito?" twist isn't out of the equation - in which case, I imagine Kenjaku would find a way to activate the Merger inside a defeated Sukuna after getting beaten to a pulp by Yuji (it would perhaps also be a way for Megumi to come back). Point is, Kenjaku always managed to find a way to deal with the powerhouses of the series - it wouldn't surprise me if it's revealed that he always planned on using Yuji to eventually defeat Sukuna
I have a theory that Kenjaku might have done something to the Tengen/Merger fetus he sent to Sukuna, and that all three will combine when Sukuna activates the merger, paying off the Principals arc and the time spent explaining how he created Panda, with all 3 souls coming together in the merger in a similar way, but surpassing the current “peak” of jujutsu
The only Kenjaku highlight relating recent events is that he wanted Rika for the longest and now shes ate him, irony. So I’m left wondering.. if brain switch was his CT, what’s his CTR or Maximum? Can he take over a body that has consumed him with or without a binding vow?
Honestly, I think what Kenjaku really wants is the battle royale: “the strongest” vs the merger. Of course, it’s just out of curiosity. He helped Sukuna transcend death because Sukuna agreed to this fight 1000 years ago. I’ve locked Gojo up because he knew Gojo would not agree. (He also just dislikes Six Eyes/Limitless users). His real goal is to find the strongest thing/curse/sorcerer possible. The Culling Games was to force evolution. The guys whole thing is “Wonder what would happen if I did …”
Imagine that Kenjaku actually is alive and it's Nobara using the eyepatch as an excuse to cover the scars for those who can see them and Sukuna is Megumi playing along. Now that would be fucked up.
Honestly, I think Kenjaku is gone gone. Thematically and plot wise, the entire cycle of Kenjaku, a six-eyes user, tengen, and the star plasma vessel seems to have been completely destroyed. Heck, after this the six-eyes might never return. I believe Yuki made it clear that all these were tied together by fate. Now that those fated chains are broken, it seems a new cycle is taking shape. A cycle that has been brewing since the Heian Era. A cycle between Yuji and Sukuna, a new cycle of curses. Just my guess though. I think it is thematically fitting that Gege is giving one last Hurray to Kenjaku, Gojo, and the six-eyes. Combining all three in someway a pitting it against Sukuna one last time before we step into the new age of curses. Just my two cents.

It definitely not over for Kenjaku 0:27 , he is the one who brought all sorcerers into the future by turning them into Cursed objects. We see that Sukuna did this to himself, so it's not impossible for Kenjaku to do the same. My theory is that he already has, and is actually masquerading as Shoko right now.

Honestly, i liked how he died. He passed away like the cockroach he is. The moment he let his gusrd down, he got cut. It's a great death for a character that is burdened by immortality. As someone else said, Kenjaku also concucted the whole Merger plan just because he was bored. He lived for so long that he ran out of things to live for. He decided to do the merger just to see what will happen. As he said in Shibuya, he wanted to create something beyond himself. Another thing is that Kenjaku got his boredom satisfied by Takaba, after which he got killed. I like the parallel of him wanting to create the Merger just because it is something beyond his control, only to get his satisfaction and death from something he created (Takaba) that went beyond his control, and die satisfied. In the end, I feel that his death is appropriate for a villain of his calibre.
One thing people don't realize is that after Gojo vs Sukuna, there was no way for Gege to spin a proper 1v1 between Kenjaku and Yuta that Yuta wins that'll make sense, this is because in every possible way you can think of Kenjaku outclasses Yuta and almost everything Sukuna used/did in his fight vs Gojo Kenny can do.
Gojo will be the one to finally kill him. He's def not dead yet. Geto is who yuta killed imo. Kenjaku is merged with tengdn, and his kogane has stitches. Both were probably his "insurances" along eith sukuna. When gojo comes out of prison realm and appears before kenjaku looking like a shinigami reaper was all the foreshadowing in the world.

Yuki is the only character that could hear the voices of past star plasma vessels in Tengen. So kenjaku is merged with the souls in him. The tree CT he used in chp 249 is curse womb CT, it can probably split abd combine souls/techniques. When kenjaku uses it, you clearly see the Tengen normal at first, and then merge with Krnjaku and become brainey before launching. Chapter 243's final panel confirms that it is Kenjaku, because the eyes and little anger expression mark are identical. Kenjaku and Tengen probably have the same immortality technique, just different interpretations.
I'm pretty sure that Kenjaku transcended having a physical body via his usage of the Cursed Realm. After all he was even able to track down the soul of Sukuna's twin and have it reincarnate in the modern era. My theory is that he's still pulling the strings from there - and that the actual final battle will take place in the Cursed Realm after Sukuna killed the entire cast.

Chapter 249, you can liberally see the little tengen get brainy before it launches. Kenjaku used cursed womb CT (the tree) to do it somehow. Chapter 243 last panel kenjaku's anger appears on the tengen when it gets brainey.
I agree with you that we cannot listen to Meimei and the cast solely on how Kenjaku technique works. because Kenjaku learned more about Curse Manipulation than Geto did. That’s revealed in episode 45-47 when he teaches viewers about Supreme Art and how Geto didn’t know the full context description of what Curse Manipulations supreme Art does
kenjaku is going to come back in takabas body, we never see his forehead or what happens to his body after yuta rejoins the sukuna fight for his domain, it would also be fitting for kenjaku to want a more esoteric modern cursed technique in his bag of tricks and was able to retain his cursed spirit manipulation at the cost of another acquired technique like kaori's antigravity-system
Kenjaku could have put something in the Culling Games that allows him to take control of the merger or something else. I just don't see how a sorcerer that betrayed and backstabbed people was able to survive for 1000 years with no back up plan. He's the one that invented splitting your soul after all.
There are a few hints at kenjaku having taken over takabas Body, what if everything that is currently happening is just a result of kenjaku using takabas cursed technique
It wasn't. For someone so powerful, dubious and proficient, it is lackluster. Apart from Yuta, Sukuna and Yuji, he is the only other character that has more than 1 cursed technique. In fact, he has 3. He has too much mystery and expertise to get polished off like that.

Think about it the only reason Kenjaku wanted the merger Because he wanted something big and entertaining and he gets his wish with Takaba they're comedy act was 😂. Takaba dressed up as a doctor and Kenjaku was sexy nurse trying to revive a fish. Kenjaku said he hasn't had so much fun in years it was so fun he get distracted by Takaba to be decapitated by yuta. Kenjaku got exactly what he wants fun entertaining uncontrollable chaos and that's what got him killed in the end.

Mostly, it depends on how much story is really left, and what kind of ending gege is building towards. If he really is getting ready to end things I wouldn't see the point, but my main thing is I wouldn't like it as an ending for yuta. Especially if it's a lack of understanding the technique, if yuta dies do to a time limit I'd be upset. Mainly because there's no reason we are given that kenjaku's technique works like that. He keeps multiple techniques plus his own, and I don't see a way you could justify a binding vow that he made so he wouldn't have to manage the technique. Or to let him keep different techniques. If you did it at this point it would cheapen the narrative a bit.
This is gonna come true… there is no way Gege just offs kenjaku and says “my will be carried on” without him (Kenjaku) being prepared for death. He’s too smart to not have a plan for what’s to come…
I have a theory that might fall in line somewhere with yours. I dont think Kenjaku will come back even though I want him to come back myself but for Yuji’s character development. I think Kenjaku is dead but MEGUMI will Inherit his will after Sukuna is defeated. Reason being, Megumi has nothing to live for outside of Yuji and his classmates. His sister and mentor/father figure were both killed with his own technique, Mahoraga is destroyed after Gojo blew him up, and his whole purpose for being around has been sharttered via sukuna. Who knows how his mind state will be after he’s rescued. On top of that he has the command for the merger not sukuna. He xan inherit Kenjaku’s will of Jujutsu Terrorism once he’s rescued and I think there’s a high probability of thag coming to pass with him facing off against Yujiand the rest of Jujutsu Tech. BUT, I also think if this clmes to pass Megumi will want Yuji to be the one to defeat him as thats his one friend besides Maki who he told to “rescue him” when the Culling games first started. Thats how I think it will end.
7:39 honestly, I thought Kenjaku was a curse when Choso found out who Kenjaku was. Choso mentioned that he had three parents 2 of which were human and the other who was a curse. Since Kenjaku was controling Noritoshi Kamo, I don't think it would be off the mark for him to count as the other parent. Afterall, Yuji is only related to his brothers via Kenjaku, cause Noritoshi Kamo is not related to Yuji's mother, at least that hasn't been revealed to be the case.

we've seen his abilities fully displayed against Yuki so why is his abilities still a "mystery"? his innate technique is body hoping and he can store at least 1 more technique in his brain (other than the one of the current body he's occupying) making 3. he's def not coming back thru Yuta. I can see him having split his soul into a cursed object as a backup (since he's the one that came up with it)
Well, Yuta did say hes willing to become a monster, and we have seen with toji that he could claim an empty CE body. Now hear me out, kenjakus brain could be a cursed item like the fingers, and we know yuta has 5 minutes until our possibilities, so what if he were to lose all CE, and we would then see kenjaku have him inherit his will?
I don't think it's a problem at all. I think one of the biggest problems in modern media is nothing is left a mystery, every last thing is explained away. The force is no longer some mystical thing tying all living things together, it's actually the interaction of midichlorians in the body, it's really quite lame. It adds nothing to JJK if they make kenjaku some Aizen-esque mastermind who's calculated everybody's moves down to the smallest detail the last thousand years. We know enough of his story to know he's been working towards something the last thousand years, that should be impressive enough, but everyone wants to answer every last question that can be posed to the point it becomes a checking of boxes and takes the fun out of any fan discussions.
Ive had this theory that once the 5 minutes are up kenjaku will shockingly wake up in gojos body and yuta will return to his own corpse and die with rika
If The Merger plays a role in kenjakus betrayal to Sukuna then it could be similar to the holy grail when it absorbed Gilgamesh It didn’t have a host so it attached to Gilgamesh because he had the most energy - which was crazy because he didn’t have a proper mana source and hasn’t recharged in 10 years in the events of UBW Gilgamesh then tried escaping by chaining himself to Shiro but then got killed as his arm was cut off and he was halfway into the grail, with his remaining arm attached to Shiro - he was left defenseless for a sneak attack by Nameless Archer who shot an arrow from the other part of the city to kill Gilgamesh and have him absorbed by the Holy Grail
With respect to Kenjaku resurrecting in his killer's body or the like, we have to keep in mind that Yuta copied his technique and was able to inhabit Gojo's body without killing him. 262 also showed that Rika is still alive, so its very unlikely that dying (in the traditional sense) is required for the technique.
While i do think kenjaku was going to have sukuna die somewhere within his grand plan, i dont think it wouldve been a betrayal. I (and many others) assume that sukuna is working with kenjaku to bring about the merger so that he could battle it to the death, with kenjaku betting that the winner would be the merger resulting in the death of sukuna.

Kenjaku really reminds me of the main villain from the visual novel Tsukihime and Tsukihime plays with Roa’s reincarnation in a really cool way and if Kenjaku, as a sort-of reincarnator, doesn’t come back like Roa did in the Ciel route I will be pissed since it just feels like an absolute waste to not capitalise on an ability like that. I suppose you could say Yuta taking over Gojo is the payoff but it still feel weird to me for him to not come back. Come on Gege, it could be peak fiction.
Calling it now. Yuta is going to run out of his copy time, Kenjaku will take over Gojos body through some binding vow or nuance to his CT. This will open the door for Gojos return and bring meaning to the Geto scene where he chokes Kenjaku in the station. Gojo confirmed coming back! You heard it here now!

Up to this point, Sukuna has been paralleling Gojo and Mahito in numerous aspects. I'll just say that a Prison Realm type moment or a "Shall I save you, Mahito?" twist isn't out of the equation - in which case, I imagine Kenjaku would find a way to activate the Merger inside a defeated Sukuna after getting beaten to a pulp by Yuji (it would perhaps also be a way for Megumi to come back). Point is, Kenjaku always managed to find a way to deal with the powerhouses of the series - it wouldn't surprise me if it's revealed that he always planned on using Yuji to eventually defeat Sukuna

I have a theory that Kenjaku might have done something to the Tengen/Merger fetus he sent to Sukuna, and that all three will combine when Sukuna activates the merger, paying off the Principals arc and the time spent explaining how he created Panda, with all 3 souls coming together in the merger in a similar way, but surpassing the current “peak” of jujutsu
The only Kenjaku highlight relating recent events is that he wanted Rika for the longest and now shes ate him, irony. So I’m left wondering.. if brain switch was his CT, what’s his CTR or Maximum? Can he take over a body that has consumed him with or without a binding vow?
Honestly, I think what Kenjaku really wants is the battle royale: “the strongest” vs the merger. Of course, it’s just out of curiosity. He helped Sukuna transcend death because Sukuna agreed to this fight 1000 years ago. I’ve locked Gojo up because he knew Gojo would not agree. (He also just dislikes Six Eyes/Limitless users). His real goal is to find the strongest thing/curse/sorcerer possible. The Culling Games was to force evolution.

Honestly, I think Kenjaku is gone gone. Thematically and plot wise, the entire cycle of Kenjaku, a six-eyes user, tengen, and the star plasma vessel seems to have been completely destroyed. Heck, after this the six-eyes might never return. I believe Yuki made it clear that all these were tied together by fate.
Now that those fated chains are broken, it seems a new cycle is taking shape. A cycle that has been brewing since the Heian Era. A cycle between Yuji and Sukuna, a new cycle of curses.
Just my guess though. I think it is thematically fitting that Gege is giving one last Hurray to Kenjaku, Gojo, and the six-eyes. Combining all three in someway a pitting it against Sukuna one last time before we step into the new age of curses. Just my two cents.

Honestly, i liked how he died. He passed away like the cockroach he is. The moment he let his gusrd down, he got cut. It's a great death for a character that is burdened by immortality.
As someone else said, Kenjaku also concucted the whole Merger plan just because he was bored. He lived for so long that he ran out of things to live for. He decided to do the merger just to see what will happen. As he said in Shibuya, he wanted to create something beyond himself.
Another thing is that Kenjaku got his boredom satisfied by Takaba, after which he got killed. I like the parallel of him wanting to create the Merger just because it is something beyond his control, only to get his satisfaction and death from something he created (Takaba) that went beyond his control, and die satisfied.
In the end, I feel that his death is appropriate for a villain of his calibre.

Kenjaku already crossed Sukuna when he made Yuji to be his perfect prison. Yuji was Kenjakus back up plan if Sukuna was too much to control.
One thing people don't realize is that after Gojo vs Sukuna, there was no way for Gege to spin a proper 1v1 between Kenjaku and Yuta that Yuta wins that'll make sense, this is because in every possible way you can think of Kenjaku outclasses Yuta and almost everything Sukuna used/did in his fight vs Gojo Kenny can do.

Gojo will be the one to finally kill him. He's def not dead yet. Geto is who yuta killed imo. Kenjaku is merged with tengdn, and his kogane has stitches. Both were probably his "insurances" along eith sukuna.
When gojo comes out of prison realm and appears before kenjaku looking like a shinigami reaper was all the foreshadowing in the world.

Number 4 doesn't make sense with number 1, unless u consider that Yuki was speaking to Geto, then Kenjaku started speaking.
Yuki is the only character that could hear the voices of past star plasma vessels in Tengen. So kenjaku is merged with the souls in him.
The tree CT he used in chp 249 is curse womb CT, it can probably split abd combine souls/techniques. When kenjaku uses it, you clearly see the Tengen normal at first, and then merge with Krnjaku and become brainey before launching. Chapter 243's final panel confirms that it is Kenjaku, because the eyes and little anger expression mark are identical.
Kenjaku and Tengen probably have the same immortality technique, just different interpretations.
I'm pretty sure that Kenjaku transcended having a physical body via his usage of the Cursed Realm. After all he was even able to track down the soul of Sukuna's twin and have it reincarnate in the modern era.
My theory is that he's still pulling the strings from there - and that the actual final battle will take place in the Cursed Realm after Sukuna killed the entire cast.

I agree with you that we cannot listen to Meimei and the cast solely on how Kenjaku technique works. because Kenjaku learned more about Curse Manipulation than Geto did. That’s revealed in episode 45-47 when he teaches viewers about Supreme Art and how Geto didn’t know the full context description of what Curse Manipulations supreme Art does

Kenjaku could have put something in the Culling Games that allows him to take control of the merger or something else. I just don't see how a sorcerer that betrayed and backstabbed people was able to survive for 1000 years with no back up plan. He's the one that invented splitting your soul after all.

It wasn't. For someone so powerful, dubious and proficient, it is lackluster. Apart from Yuta, Sukuna and Yuji, he is the only other character that has more than 1 cursed technique. In fact, he has 3. He has too much mystery and expertise to get polished off like that.

Mostly, it depends on how much story is really left, and what kind of ending gege is building towards. If he really is getting ready to end things I wouldn't see the point, but my main thing is I wouldn't like it as an ending for yuta. Especially if it's a lack of understanding the technique, if yuta dies do to a time limit I'd be upset. Mainly because there's no reason we are given that kenjaku's technique works like that. He keeps multiple techniques plus his own, and I don't see a way you could justify a binding vow that he made so he wouldn't have to manage the technique. Or to let him keep different techniques. If you did it at this point it would cheapen the narrative a bit.

Inherit his will after Sukuna is defeated. Reason being, Megumi has nothing to live for outside of Yuji and his classmates. His sister and mentor/father figure were both killed with his own technique, Mahoraga is destroyed after Gojo blew him up, and his whole purpose for being around has been sharttered via sukuna. Who knows how his mind state will be after he’s rescued. On top of that he has the command for the merger not sukuna. He xan inherit Kenjaku’s will of Jujutsu Terrorism once he’s rescued and I think there’s a high probability of thag coming to pass with him facing off against Yujiand the rest of Jujutsu Tech. BUT, I also think if this clmes to pass Megumi will want Yuji to be the one to defeat him as thats his one friend besides Maki who he told to “rescue him” when the Culling games first started. Thats how I think it will end.
7:39 honestly, I thought Kenjaku was a curse when Choso found out who Kenjaku was. Choso mentioned that he had three parents 2 of which were human and the other who was a curse. Since Kenjaku was controling Noritoshi Kamo, I don't think it would be off the mark for him to count as the other parent. Afterall, Yuji is only related to his brothers via Kenjaku, cause Noritoshi Kamo is not related to Yuji's mother, at least that hasn't been revealed to be the case.

So if this guy is losing so many times why he is still there...
we've seen his abilities fully displayed against Yuki so why is his abilities still a "mystery"? his innate technique is body hoping and he can store at least 1 more technique in his brain (other than the one of the current body he's occupying) making 3. he's def not coming back thru Yuta. I don't think it's a problem at all. I think one of the biggest problems in modern media is nothing is left a mystery, every last thing is explained away. The force is no longer some mystical thing tying all living things together, it's actually the interaction of midichlorians in the body, it's really quite lame. It adds nothing to JJK if they make kenjaku some Aizen-esque mastermind who's calculated everybody's moves down to the smallest detail the last thousand years. We know enough of his story to know he's been working towards something the last thousand years, that should be impressive enough, but everyone wants to answer every last question that can be posed to the point it becomes a checking of boxes and takes the fun out of any fan discussions.

It didn’t have a host so it attached to Gilgamesh because he had the most energy - which was crazy because he didn’t have a proper mana source and hasn’t recharged in 10 years in the events of UBW
Gilgamesh then tried escaping by chaining himself to Shiro but then got killed as his arm was cut off and he was halfway into the grail, with his remaining arm attached to Shiro - he was left defenseless for a sneak attack by Nameless Archer who shot an arrow from the other part of the city to kill Gilgamesh and have him absorbed by the Holy Grail

With respect to Kenjaku resurrecting in his killer's body or the like, we have to keep in mind that Yuta copied his technique and was able to inhabit Gojo's body without killing him. 262 also showed that Rika is still alive, so its very unlikely that dying (in the traditional sense) is required for the technique.
Either Gota is the main for the next series or Gojaku is the villain.
While i do think kenjaku was going to have sukuna die somewhere within his grand plan, i dont think it wouldve been a betrayal. I (and many others) assume that sukuna is working with kenjaku to bring about the merger so that he could battle it to the death, with kenjaku betting that the winner would be the merger resulting in the death of sukuna.
So basically, Kenny might be built like Toto Sakigami from Deadman Wonderland.

Kenjaku really reminds me of the main villain from the visual novel Tsukihime and Tsukihime plays with Roa’s reincarnation in a really cool way and if Kenjaku, as a sort-of reincarnator, doesn’t come back like Roa did in the Ciel route I will be pissed since it just feels like an absolute waste to not capitalise on an ability like that. I suppose you could say Yuta taking over Gojo is the payoff but it still feel weird to me for him to not come back. Come on Gege, it could be peak fiction.
