The meaning of life is simple - the purpose of Life is ... To. Enjoy. It.
Too bad capitalism only cares about profit ...

Thanks for watching @3nertia! Interesting take there - So… Capitalism takes ALL the enjoyment out of life? I don’t think I necessarily agree. Yes, there are some very negative effects brought on by capitalism, the increasing costs of EVERYTHING being the primary factor but I think meaning and the enjoyment of life are distinct from that. What makes you feel that way?

@@EdgarDiazSpeaks Why take the joy when capitalism can find ways to exploit and profit off it instead? Heh
I feel this way because I'm poor and was born poor. I'm 37 but I grew up bathing in a creek, hauling a 5 gallon bucket of water on each hand for drinking/cooking/cleaning water. Washed my clothes on a washboard outside in the summer, did it in the tub in the winter. We had an outhouse too. I'm now disabled due to diabetic ketoacidosis, don't have a vehicle, don't have an income, don't have healthcare, and have nothing but a million ideas that could make the world a better place ...
Capitalism relies on capital - money. No amount of working can earn someone a million or billion dollars. That's only earned through capital investments. The whole system is wrong and incentivizes the wrong things in the wrong way and what's worse? The fact that this is essentially the same predatory system of "commerce" that we've always had ...
Do I still try to find ways to enjoy my life when I can? Absolutely! But they're fewer and further between each time because "shit rolls downhill" heh
My friend has been letting me live here while I've been trying to mature and sort through my traumas. My friend from Berlin, Germany has also been a great help but they have limits and it's still not enough. It's never enough under capitalism because of greed; capitalism thrives on our worst, most predatory traits - selfishness, greed, and aggression :/

@@3nertia thanks for sharing man! I’m sorry you’ve gone through all of that - I definitely understand your point of view better now… That said, it kind of sounds like you’re letting capitalism win. Of course the people who control the money want to keep it and that makes if difficult on the rest of us but there’s more to life than just that. Plus, you have lots of things in your life that are highly meaningful and that there’s room to be thankful for - it sounds like you have great friends who are willing to help you out which is INVALUABLE. Even as a kid, you had that bucket - how much more difficult would life have been without it? My parents grew up in a similar fashion as you so I understand the struggle and pain of it but life tends to be all about perspective. Yes, capitalism has lots of downsides. Yes, the game is rigged. But it’s not going to stop being rigged simply because you called it out. You might as well learn how to play. Best of luck to you, man - I really hope things take a turn for the better.🙏🏽🙏🏽

@@EdgarDiazSpeaks Yeah, I am thankful for what I have but my friend/roommate also lost their job just before this holiday season, so ...
Maybe calling it out won't change anything but maybe I can at least make people aware of the ways in which the system might gobble them up heh
Saying "be thankful you had a bucket" is a bit callous though heh
"Be thankful capitalism isn't fucking you harder!" heh
      Happy holidays!
