@rjrulz327 they definitely missed the mark with emerald nightmare, and again, we got to visit Emerald Dream in dragonflight but it was just a small phased area
Miss the mystery of Vanilla days. Where anything felt possible. Whilst TBC was exciting, it was very clearly a massive narrative jump from the original azeroth world to a bunch of linear levelling islands that represented "Outland." WoW expansions have followed the same model ever since and the deep world design of Vanilla was lost forever.
Vanillla felt like they made the world first and populated it with the "game" after, where as future expansions felt like they had the game designed first and made the world to suit that. Best way I can explain it.
Lol vanilla was no more or less linear than TBC which was just a bunch of linear leveling zones. Tbc was just smaller as a whole as it should have been
@user-cp9id1mj8b sounds like you didn't play vanilla then. Zones were level based and you were shuttled to each one. If anything retail is anything but linear, sure there's level scaling now but you can literally go any where at any time and level exactly how you want versus having to quest in specific areas like vanilla
Man RIP, HayvenGaming used to be one of my favorite channels to put on low and fall asleep to but now I wouldn't be able to watch any of them without my eyes welling up with tears...
I remember hopping into hyjal as a kid and walking all the way to the end of the path and there was a construction sign if i recall correctly, would be so cool to see this zone was completed!
@@Sarlyx no, that's the cataclysm version. one doesn't say thousand needles in classic is not the finished version just because thy flooded it in the second iteration. essentially mt. hyjal never got out of version 0.4 but in cata went to version 2.0. people want that 1.0 version and see what blizz was cooking with
So that's where that debuff came from. I remember seeing clips of people logging off in the level 60 raid naxx right before the wrath version came out. When they logged back into the level 60 raid, they had that debuff.
@@TurbotarzanWoW You could get it in the TBC friends and family alpha. Shadowmoon Valley wasn't completed, and if you wandered into it, eventually you'd get the No Man's Land debuff and get teleported out to the border with Terrokar Forest.
I don't know if this is still the case on classic servers, but back in the day, I remember you didn't have to do any funky walljumping to get into Hyjal. If you were a ghost, collision was disabled, like it is for most doors so that you don't get stuck on the wrong side of them when you need to corpse run. I guess they forgot to turn that feature off for that door. I remember exploring Hyjal by getting killed on one side of the door, walking through it as a ghost, and resurrecting on the other side. Edit: Come to think of it, you could do the same thing to get into Caverns of Time during vanilla too.
Mount Hyjal is another area recently added in Turtle WoW -- including an endgame zone and the raid "The Emerald Dream". It was really cool to explore -- I just wish they had added in more than new tamable animal for my hunter (a brown owl is a little underwhelming).
I would LOVE to see the classic team develop these zones for a full fledged CLASSIC + for 2025 or 2026. I think SoD is a great way to beta test all of the crazy things they could add. This is the future of Warcraft!
I wonder. I mean by the fact they're doing Karazhan crypts and an SM raid(?) I got the feeling they're just going to focus on things that weren't done in later expansions mostly. I mean we got some abilities that appear in later expansions, but they're in the form of runes which is unique. I know us and many players do want Hyjal though so maybe they'll find a way to do it differently.
Haven't paid attention to this Classic +, is that like Classic Wow but they add stuff in it or something? I stopped playing WoW 2 weeks after Cataclysm was released and have only followed the lore bc I grew up with Warcraft series and later WoW so I have emotional attachment to the story
@@KalmoKYeah. They relaunched the WoW Classic/ Vanilla game around 2019. And now they are adding a seasonal content upgrade with new things for Classic
Man, so many fun things from getting into this zone. I did it in Wrath when I think people either found a new way around the No Man's Land debuff, or Blizzard removed it, and it was really fun seeing Archimonde's skeleton. I was in the vanilla beta, and I remember them teasing Hyjal, Emerald Dream, and Karazahn as level 60 content they were gonna add.
You should do Alpha Karazhan next. It was planned for vanilla and one of the first raids started (but not finished) and was delayed for two due to the sheer massive size.
I remember they referenced that wall-jump exploit from Winterspring to the "dancing troll village" as how the Horde managed to ambush the night elves in the War of Thorns.
There's a few lore tidbits being teased about hyjal in phase 3 of classic, mainly to do with the shadowspear trolls and talk of the loa of hyjal going mad, makes me think the new content at 60 may be hyjal and troll related. would make a lot of sense for them too, a huge zone all they have to do is enable the portal and make a quest for the gate put some NPCs in and they're done, ashenvale showed they could do some thing like that pretty easy. Also nightmare incursions are very emerald nightmare linked and the crafting quest has us fighting a big boss in the nightmare.
I grew up on warcraft 3 and always loved the "world " of warcraft I remember when I truly started actually understanding the lore and stuff it was around the time wrath came out. Too young to understand all the stuff in warcraft 3 , but still just loved the universe. never was a big mmo person but I still just loved the universe of warcraft , it felt like home. With all the exploring of stuff cut from the launch of the game and all the stuff that got left on the cutting room floor just expanded my love for the universe. I truly hope ethire turtle wow or the season of discovery can give us the true vanilla plus experience, more of the old world.............. Of warcraft
I think its possible, but i think they will divide it into 3 pieces: Considering there was not much left for the origional vanillia to finish it will likely go something like this: Hyjal might be added at early 60 season of discovery after naxx, following which they might finally add the emerald dream in the last half since ED was origionally meant to be the final raid, and azshara crater might be added imbetween as a filler.
They DID add a way back into 40man Naxx into retail recently, same for classic Scholo but Zul'Gurub only lets you CRAFT some of its old loot and I don't think Classic UBRS or Strath or the low level zones are in.
Just earlier this week, I was getting my tears of Hederine and I found this entrance. I went down a rabbit hole of research. I had no idea this was in classic.
it's strange, hyjal looks like an instance like ZG but going around the zone reveals another instance portal in the location where one would expect illadans prison to be. hoping it becomes an open world zone over just a raid instance personally
Mt Hyjal , Deadwind Pass , Moonglade, can they increase quests, and maybe bring some of them new life =).. There are alot of more areas in wow classic never been explore like - Goblin venture company - city, in stonemountains, Grimbatol,, The old Ironforge =)
Grimbatol definitely that zone was fucking awesome !!! Some dwarves ruins overran by damm dragon high level elites so fucking cool and the gate for the furblong
Hyjal was one of the biggest disappointments in Vanilla. Besides the Emerald Dream. There was so much speculation around those two things, for so long. The only place that topped either was Karazhan, and that was mainly because it was fully in the game as a structure.
I absolutly loved it! Such great content even I, as my name suggest, after 17 years can still learn small things. And I researched a lot over the years. Just how did you get the dragon model into mt hyjal?
Happy you did :) the two dragons are Azuregos and Kalecgos. The whelps are Cobalt Broodling, who can be found in the Mazthoril cave - which is actually also mentioned in the Hyjal part of sourcebook
When the first zombie invasion event happend you could interact with any ingame doodad while being a zombie. I went all the way to the Hyjal gate and opened it 😅 I was surprised to find that the gate had a cool looking unique opening animation! I also went to AQ and found a spot that let me interact with the opened gate which caused the gate to close again! It would open by itself after maybe 5 minutes
It takea longer to ride from the entrance to Hyjal, to the tree. Than it does to ride from Dun Baldar to Frostwolf fortress. Its bigger than Alterac valley. If it were a raid, fuck that. Lol
Hopefully we get a 40 man Level 60 raid for Mt Hyjal, where we kill Demom and Emerald Nightmare themed enemies.
