Remarkable 2 Marker is damaged and not working properly

    mine was writing before it would even touch the screen (this is after I dropped it and it landed on the nib) I replaced the nib and it still was doing this. then I tried pulling it slightly out and it worked perfectly, so I think when it dropped it expanded the hole that it inserts into which caused it to work inproperly. these markers are super super delicate. my eraser is not working very well at all. altogether I like the remarkable 2 but not real impressed with the over priced and very delicate stylus.

    I have exactly the same problem after owning the device for only 2 months. Very frustrating.

    I actually had a lot of problems and was able to resolve it. In my case, the nib was not installed properly. I'm not sure exactly what I mean when I say that, but my remarkable was working awesome and the nib wore out and I replaced it and then it was crazy. I noticed, because I had at least a little experience, that the nib looked somehow "off". I took it out and put it back in and it worked. I feel like the nib rotates and that it sort of "screws" in or something, or the rotation has some impact.

    I’m both happy and frustrated.
    I have exactly the same issues.
    Went to conference with my three week old rM and 1/2 way through the second day it just stopped.
    I have not had any response from rM and now I have an expensive paperweight!!

    Would love to see how this turns out. Have you reached out to Remarkable? What did they say? I'm considering a Remarkable 2 of my own and came across this video.

    When the nib cuff breaks, the nib loosens and loses constant contact with the Marker Plus. This happened to mine. Remarkable replaced my Marker Plus, but the replacement broke in the same spot after two days. I have since used a Samsung S6 Lite S Pen (good writing, no eraser) and a Staedtler Jumbo (eraser!, poor nib writing experience).

    I had an issue with the 2.8.0.98 update. I think they tried to make the pen pressure sensitive (press hard to get thick lines and lighter to get thin lines) but judging by the fact we are both having the same issue they missed the mark and release a bad update. I found updating to 2.9.0.153 beta version fixed the pressure sensitivity issue . Cheer best of luck

      @@philchristinpk the pen is pressure sensitive and always has been, its not a software thing

      @@jeo7347 Yes, I agree. I should have wrote "more" sensitive. If it not a software thing, then the only other thing to do is to change the nib which she did.

    I have this same problem--segments of letters disappear and I have had it 2 days. My Nib collar is not broken. Will be contacting support.

    Just solved my one all you have to do is remove the tip from the pen blow slowly air in to the tip a few times and the put the tip back on firmly and it should be fine. But make sure that your pad is working and you can use it with your finger then reset your device and make sure you do that with the pen...

    Even though the replacement Marker Plus was not working on my screen, I had asked rM Support to solve the issue, maybe a second replacement. (Same as you that the device and the Marker are in good conditions, but not responding each other)

    I am having this problem after my pen tip wore down and I changed it. It is a very convoluted process to get a return, and so far have not been able to initiate the return

    I have been using the remarkable and all of sudden it has stopped working??? Replaced nib... still not working... used another pen (samsung - still notworking?? please help

      I charged it fully, reset it multiple times, replaced the nibs (multiple times), blew into the hole gently, then enrolled into the beta software update and reset and…it still doesn’t work 😢 it senses my finger and eraser but the pen writes inconsistently. Support is available from 2am-9am?? I submitted a request to contact me and they say they will reply within 24 hours. Guess we’ll see.

    The problem seems to be the device and not the pen. The pen tip is broken but it should still be able to write. Contact them for a replacement pen. Keep the device away from magnets. Magnets on top of and underneath the screen will cause this to happen. Do not put the device on top of your laptop and don't put your phone on top of it. Leave the device away from magnets for a few hours or even up to a day and then the problem should be fixed. If this doesn't do anything then take out the nib and put a new one in the pen. That could also be the cause of the problem.

      This is designed to be transported with your laptop and phone, so of these impact it is's no good!

      I had a problem that looked like that because I used a case that had magnets.

      @@fiveringsfinancialagents-n9697 I use original remarkable case with magnets. Now I cant write in area 1cm near top edge. Also pen is not responsive to buttons in landscape mode in that area. What do I do?
      You replaced device or removed device from case for few days?
