    Hey Jim! 10 years ago i asked you to tie a buck bug for me and you did! Thank you, I've tied hundreds and hundreds since then but you helped me in the beginning and I'm very thankful!

    It's been a while Jim. Good to see you post anything. Skwala is an Early Stone fly out west, like the little black stone we fish in mid to late February into March. It's a great time to be in Montana for those or Aberta. I had fished this hatch a number of times over the years. It's some of the first "Big Fly" dry fly fishing of the year.

    April fools hatch on the Bitterroot River! I use more yellow on the body. The secret to fishing the skwala is making sure you're fly does not look like the ones everyone else is using. 😉
