- Here's a VRC6+N163 chiptune arrangement of Ho-Oh's battle theme from Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver!
This is probably my favorite track from any pokemon game, and I've been wanting to cover it for a while! I've just been putting it off because I anticipated it to be difficult to arrange lol. I've also been looking for a good track to use this cool N163 slap bass made by VinylCheese. Check out their stuff here:

This was very ambitious bc of how complex and perc-heavy this song is. And it turned out good, especially in the intro and calm bridge. I'm guessing the balancing was tough for this one since there are so many unique parts. It's definitely the most accurate chiptune remix I've heard of this theme.

Ho-Oh I personally feel is one of the best Legendary Pokémon.
It was teased on the First episode of the anime. Its lore was established in Gold/Silver/Crystal as the one who revived the Legendary Beasts and _this_ music!
Part of why HGSS are the best remakes in the series, imo.

This song singlehandedly made me like Ho-Oh a whole lot more. It’s so imposing and majestic! And you did a great job at keeping that feeling strong in this cover!

i'd love to fight to og cynthias theme. the smash version has part of the approaching cynthia theme which im not that fond of. i love fighting to dialga/palkia theme tho but they missed giratina's theme which is sad
What I think would’ve been cool is if they had 2 versions of this theme: The original, and a version with a recording of the live versions of these instruments. That would’ve been INCREDIBLE!!!

@@abitofsupport601 Yep, that was my idea! You could also take it from "Sacred Ash" (Ho-Oh's equipped item in Pokémon GSC), but "Sacred Fire" works as well.

@@GiordanDiodato you can actually fit in a lot more than you see in the game, because there are so many overcomplicated algorithms used and unused content, to the point where skimming it down to only stuff that is normally available in the game only takes up part of the cartridge. Leaving plenty of room to add some really neat things

Sadly due to limitations, this theme would have to be simplified a bit, but if this were in the game, it would get so much more recognition.
This sends me back to when I was trying to catch Ho-Oh in SoulSilver and it just did not want to be caught. I tried for so long and on one occasion it fainted from struggle recoil because the battle just dragged on that long. On the plus side I got to hear a lot of its rad theme and I did eventually catch it.
You mean HeartGold, SoulSilver is the one with Lugia.

Ho-Oh has always had one of the best themes. You certainly did it justice, this slaps.
This theme was one of the reasons I was happy to have chosen HeartGold over SoulSilver back in the day.
Nostalgia just slapped me so hard across the face it sent me back to Jotho
The more pronounced melody really helps this track a ton. I daresay this is better than the original!

You know what I think would be cool? Either the original Pursuit theme from the Ace Attorney games, or Battle Aqua/Magma Leader from Emerald/ORAS, either version (since the original doesn’t go from 0 to 100, and the remake just sounds amazing).
