Man you are an absolute hero. Love getting the notification for a new episode. As bad as it sounds, I wish this series wouldn't end! Unbelievable work.
Mate, it’s so enjoyable to watch this journey play out. True dedication to an amazing car! Can’t wait to see the finished product mate!
Love that stuff!! Been using it on all my trim for the last 5 years!
That's why I enjoy this channel, his attention to detail is insane. Thanks for the content Seth.
Looking really nice seth. The 3 little spots doesnt matter. It looks awesome. Nice job ✌🏻🇳🇱
Hey mate. When I did this same job on my CRX, I bought some super slim masking tape 5mm w stuff to mask those curves. Then used the wider stuff. Worked wonders.
You're perfecting your craft. Progress man!
I really like the gloss/satin next to each other looks great
Yet another great video Seth👏👏
So sick! Love SEM, bummer about about those 3 spots, still looks killer!
Looks great! I used that same SEM trim paint on my civics door trim and it came out looking fantastic!
I used to just use the Duplicolor trim and bumper paint, but this is even better than that.
Good job! I like this style.
Tamiya yellow tape reels are great for the curves, good quality and come in 3mm, 6mm and 10mm rolls
Looks amazing, highly suggest some PPF for atleast the front end when this is all done
another banger!!
Fire!!!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
When it comes to any kind of tape, it's 3M or nothing. My father worked at 3M for 30 years.
Beautiful as usual !
Can you tell me Seth, how many spray paints were needed to do the 3 coats of the two bumpers ?
And in sanding before painting, what grain do you get on these plastics ?
Two cans. I sanded with 600, but went over it with some red scuff pad because this paint likes a rougher base layer.
What paint formula did you use for this ? I was interested in doing some oil base paint like rustlers with some hardener ? I’ve never in my life painted a car but your paint came out very smooth. I’m looking for an economical option with some nice results.
Be happy when weather betterr here so in can get on with bodywork repairs on my 1.5x JDM, need to watch more Spraying Videos to get better so reduce Orange Peel. Engine swap this summer from Dual Carb to Del Sol D15B Vtec, should be awesome then
looks fckn insane!
the gun dessicant works but it fills up fast and has to be changed. dont throw it away it can be re used by drying in an oven. if left wet in the filter it can corrode the filter
any reason not to use a black primer?
Only downside that I can think of is not being able to see how well your paint covered.
Love the build. Is there any updates on the CivicSeth civic love the content either way
Not yet. I am focusing on this CRX before I do anything to that car. I don’t want to end up with unfinished projects. It’s a slippery slope.
@@crxseth i completely agree I’ll watch both restorations come back to life love what your doing man
Looking awesome though, the trim paint looks brilliant for cans, Its very Frustrating, definitely pays to buy a well known brand you know can be trusted and pay a little extra, recently painted my partners bumper, Blue to Yellow, it has a black plastic protector that was Suzuki Accessory at top which i wanted to keep, masking off in poor light, i went over edge of it in few tiny areas so can see some blue.
If you could do it again would you have just painted the whole bumper black and then lay on the trim paint?
No, but I would have used a high quality name brand masking tape for the fine line tape. When I redid it, I used 3M and it did great.
@crxseth I tried it your way but I did the sem trim 1st. Now when I go to tape it up if I adjust my tape the sem peels off. At least for me the sem should be easier to repair I hope. BTW what blender brand did you use. Also do you have a tape recommendation for the trim so it doesn't pull it off. I'm doing the front bumper now. The rear bumper was the one that had peel
@@dajahvue It shouldn’t have peeled it off. Always use 3M tape. How long did you wait after painting to tape it? Did you prep it properly?
@crxseth that stuff is good I just blended the A pillar and you couldn't even tell
That's a shame. Based on its placement and it's black, I'd touch in the base, wetsand, then touch in some clear, then sand an polish just the area. If your going to mask and repaint, it'll be a nightmare to get it bang on the trim paint edge.
I think I’m going to do that whole section and mask it up to the trim paint. I think it will be fine and have a better result than touching it up. I’ll probably do some clear blending just under the bumper light to avoid respraying the entire bumper.
I want to see more of the silver Honda Civic coupe not those ugly hatch Honda’s your working on right now
Man, I know you are a little disappointed, but honestly, looks amazing! Your attention to detail is astonishing. You rock, my friend!
Thanks for the continued support and encouragement. I’m looking forward to getting past the painting portion since it’s taking so long. Once I start bolting on these panels, it’s going to be a game-changer.
Thanks, Seth! Looks great!
