I'm a nurse. The guitar amp reminded me of my boyfriend. He was a nurse who died from covid. He loved playing the guitar. And for 30 bucks he would have loved it.
In the UK, the domed plate is for properly storing & serving cheeses as a 4th course with or without Port. Keeps the cheese at room temperature & allows it to breathe. Putting good speciality cheeses in plastic wrap is a no no. It would have come with a cheese knife, but when serving the cheese course you can use any cheese knife. You pass the cheese plate round the table & your guests take the portion(s) of cheese sort(s) they desire from the main plate onto their own plate for eating with water biscuits, fresh bread, or cheese biscuits.
I have a parrot 🦜 just like that. I bought it in a auction box full when I was taking care of my elderly parents they loved listening to that parrot he was so entertaining for them.
That Kenyan-style antelope was nicely done for a modern one. Kamba men started making them after WW2 for the emerging tourist market in East Africa that were marvelous (later, in the 1980s, Kamba women made and sold soft sided "Kenya Woven Bags" with long, leather handles). Now the woodcarvings are made without much quality control by all sorts of folks.
One year my mother decided to have an angel Christmas tree. She went to flea markets and found frumped Barbie dolls. Recombed their hair, cleaned them, sewed angel wings on colorful fabric. Wahla! An angel tree, extraordinary.
Mondays child is fair of face, Tuesdays child is full of grace, Wednesdays child is full of woe, Thursdays child has far to go, Fridays child is loving and giving, Saturdays child works hard for a living, And the child that is born in the Sabbath day is going and blithe, and good and gay. My great grandmother was desperate to have her baby on the Sabbath but went into labour on a Thursday 😁
I love alebrijes , I started collecting them years ago anytime I traveled to Mexico, the larger ones are quite expensive but worth it because they are hand painted and I appreciate the intricate work. 😄❤️
A got a good laugh about the Hess Trucks. My brother has all of them and his wife's family thinks there worth a lot of money. They asked for them after he goes,. He 81 and he's wife has passed. I keep telling them there not.
Mondays child is fair of face, Tuesdays child is full of grace, Wednesdays child is full of woe, Thursdays child has far to go, Fridays child is loving and giving, Saturdays child works hard for a living, But the child that is born on the Sabbath day, is bonny and blythe and good and gay
I miss Andrew's shopping, he looks at different stuff and is so good at explaining why he picks or leaves something. I really wanted that Gnome mug with Magic written on it.
I love that you are so caring in purchases for your mom 💜 Just another reason you are my favorite to watch. And of course because you have the best Goodwill and places to shop in all the land!! You and your family have a great weekend ☕😎☕
My Mim has a bathroom scale like that! It is about 68 years old. I finally talked her into new scales this year, but she will not part with the old ones!
Oh my, those art nouveau paintings, just fantastic!!! Love the style, great pick:) I re-matted/re-glassed an antique framed Paris 1900 fashion magazine centerfold with seven boujee bustled women I got at an auction. One of my favorite new pieces!
In the UK the domed plate is for serving an assortment of cheese as a 4th course or instead of the sweet/dessert course. It would come with a cheese knife, but you can use any cheese knife. You pass the cheese server round the table & people cut off the pieces they desire. Having the dome let's the cheese “breathe” yet keeps the cheese from drying out. Putting speciality cheeses in plastic wrap in the refrigerator is a no no!
Nice finds! I think there is a market for decorative art glass hummingbird feeders. Maybe not a great profit, but I see them a lot hanging on the front porches in bohemian type neighborhoods.
Twice in an hour, you sure know how to spoil us,we have 2weeks still to go before our charity shops open again so thanks for all you do from Dartmoor England 😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Some Japanese tea cups sell for big $$$.... you should check out comps, some time. Also, they don’t have saucers when they don’t have handles (as far as I’ve seen).
My husband has bought vintage speakers as he says the sound quality is fantastic, even compared to today's modern speakers. Vintage Bose and Polk are ones he has commented on with me. There was a Polk at the local Goodwill that he passed on and then regretted it. I went back to find them, but they were gone. So, if you see vintage Bose or Polk for a good price, you might want to consider them. My husband paid upwards of about $500 for a set of vintage Bose before. I thought the bathroom scale was cool. I loved the centerpiece you got for your mom.
Hi, I know you said you picked up the parrot toy for your little one, just wanted to let everyone know that exact one sells for $70 or more on Ebay. So if she gets tired of playing with it, you know what to do..lol 🙂 - Jenn
I seem to remember, that you actually had a glass lamp base in your shop, that was missing a shade! I think it might have been amber or brown, but still - if you still have it, it might be worth a try. That lamp shade was beautiful 😍
I collect old bathroom scales....they are often incredible examples of art deco/streamline design. That lampshade is beautiful! The cameo glass shade by itself will sell. Those souvenir glasses do sell if they're exceptional like that one.
The blue cameo glass was wonderful. You thought Galle, I thought Daume-esque 😉 👍🏻👏🏻 I loved that first landscape you passed on. I have a roomful 💗 Really enjoying your content
03:20 You are totally right, and the candle is totally bougie. 05:39 I don't think I agree. To me, this seems like the real Russian McCoy, but certainly not of the top quality. 7:20 Possibly you could put it into the Witco room you're building. 13:08 The Peavey 110 TLS is an unpowered PA speaker for use in smaller clubs. It's nothing wild or wonderful, but $35.50 is below market for it. 13:53 The parrot glass is a souvenir left over from some bar's Tiki Month celebration. (My own neighborhood bar uses exactly those glasses when they celebrate Tiki Month.) 16:31 Both of them are very nice. Judging from the fashions, I'd put them sometime between 1900 and World War I, right in the Edwardian Afternoon. 17:27 Because of the linoleum on the footplate, I'm gonna guess it as 1940s, right after the war.
I was screaming when she put them down. They are Finnish glass called Iittala glass. I have a pitcher and a set of four glasses. Always looking for them
"Winner winner chicken dinner"!!!! LOL!!! I LOVE IT!!! I ALWAYS check the silver....I'm.always surprised at how often I find sterling (check the flatware bags, too.) Last month i brought 26 ounces to the metals dealer and left with almost $600 in my wallet.
You got taken. The hess trucks sell by the year.. The older the more Value. My nephew father started him on them frim the time he was born There is a flea market in Philly that sells them for big big money.
The two metal vases are possibly Japanese; these are often decorated with beautiful inlay of other metals, which seems to be the case with these two also.
For some unknown reason I was unsubscribed. I noticed that I wasn't seeing your videos and thought that maybe you were taking a break like Double D. I put you in the search engine and you were there so I clicked on subscribe. I was shocked since I have been a subscriber for years and have watched the kiddos grow up. I was with you when you found your sofa and with you and Sue when you shockingly got the cabinet into your vehicle. It was so sweet of that lady to help you. Of course those two episodes were after you moved into the house where you live now. I had been a subscriber for a long time by then. I can't even remember how I found you...that is how long it has been. I was watching a episode of "Tucker Upper" last night and Tuck mentioned how their people had been complaining about being de-subscribed. Tuck didn't know what was going on. I wonder if the same thing is happening with your channel. I'm going to keep a sharp eye on this. I have a couple of weeks of binge watching to enjoy.
Goodwill has overbuilt in my region; hence, none of the stores have a lot of inventory. This is mid April and all of them still have Christmas themed items on their shelves. Other thrift stores with one or two locations have many more items.
I recently moved from Denver to northern MD/DE area. Denver has popular thrift store chain called ARC, where all the stores are huge and packed with tons of stuff, everything cheaply priced and half price on Saturdays. I've been mourning the loss of those stores, since I'm now forced to shop in measley little Goodwills, which have bare shelves and everything is over-priced.
I realized how some "planters" aren't what they seem I've found Tumblers used as planters, they were pottery one's and I am partial to pottery.. only reason I noticed them..
At 4.20 you pick up an art glass vase and I noticed that at the bottom there was a hole that obviously did not go through to the interior of the vase but my question is why are these made with the hole in the bottom.
thats not called 'flash' Its called stain. Flash is when theres a color glass layer over another layer of glass. flash is not a paint. youre talking about stain.
Funko pops are hit or miss. I’ve found some worth well over a hundred. Most are not. The collectors like perfect boxes too. It’s outta my comfort zone but worth learning about. I always say never underestimate the nerds. lol The nerds love collectibles.
Those little cups, Japanese maybe, probably wouldn't have saucers. They might have had little stands, maybe, but I'm pretty sure that Japanese cups without handles usually don't have saucers.
I'm from WV, what part of WV were you guys at? I am jealous of everyone's Goodwill's. The three Goodwill's that are close enough for me to go to are not very good. Our shelves are over the clothing racks and very hard to shop. We never have good merchandise like everyone else's. Our wall art and picture frames are on a shelf above my head so they are very hard to look at. I love watching all of your videos!
Our Goodwill sucks! Nothing like the Goodwills that CLL goes to! And I am in PA also. Ours are all overpriced or the items are chipped or cracked (which I won't purchase no matter what). I am always amazed when resellers purchase chipped stuff. Our thrift shops are pretty good, but they are getting pricier also. Once they started watching these videos, the people that price went crazy!
I'm a nurse. The guitar amp reminded me of my boyfriend. He was a nurse who died from covid. He loved playing the guitar. And for 30 bucks he would have loved it.

I'm with you on the bathroom scale. Cool!
I have that same one from my parents; with a white base instead of creamy yellow.
We had one like that in the 60s. (white base also.) As an adult I have always thought scales since the 70s have been really uninteresting looking.
The goodwill shops in your area are incredible! Local ones have nothing compared to these.
I have learned that silver plate is so beautiful cleaned up. I have several pieces and they gleam! I admire them so much!
I have a parrot 🦜 just like that. I bought it in a auction box full when I was taking care of my elderly parents they loved listening to that parrot he was so entertaining for them.

What a beautiful lamp shade
2 videos in 1 day. Yay. Your so sweet thinking and buying for others all the time. Loved the cake plate w cover.
Lol, Andrew's "awwwww" voice over at 18:00 was the best.
One year my mother decided to have an angel Christmas tree. She went to flea markets and found frumped Barbie dolls. Recombed their hair, cleaned them, sewed angel wings on colorful fabric. Wahla! An angel tree, extraordinary.
That last glass is a Cat Studio glass and they can be very pricey

My great grandmother was desperate to have her baby on the Sabbath but went into labour on a Thursday 😁
That nursery rhyme was first thing I thought of, too! I have heard of a company called Tuesday’s Child, they sell childrens clothing, I think. 😁
Well...you left us hanging. How did Andrew's scratchers play out?!?
I love alebrijes , I started collecting them years ago anytime I traveled to Mexico, the larger ones are quite expensive but worth it because they are hand painted and I appreciate the intricate work. 😄❤️

The small carved stone lady I believe is a Shone sculpture from Zimbabwe. Large hands are a tell.
Will you look at that, born on a Sunday and named Bonny. 😂
I have always heard “fair and wise, good and gay”. Maybe the words change in different countries.
Two year old comment and I have to know...were you named that intentionally? I've never heard this
I miss Andrew's shopping, he looks at different stuff and is so good at explaining why he picks or leaves something. I really wanted that Gnome mug with Magic written on it.

She is my fav because she doesn't make me dizzy lol
Cape Cod sounds like it would be a neat place to live! Love your trips to thrift stores, etc.
Hand felted art actually sells well. Examples of what you had in your hand sells on Etsy for $40-$50.
That read Teleflora bowl, as long as it's not flashed on red. Is is worth 30-50 dollars. So if you see another one, grab it.
I love the vintage scale!
I repair china, pottery etc. I love it when people bring me their cherished items to remedy. I repair my own finds, too.
My Mim has a bathroom scale like that! It is about 68 years old. I finally talked her into new scales this year, but she will not part with the old ones!

Good for you sometimes walking away shows control and in this business that is a good thing.
Love the daisy cake plate!!!! New Jersey glass is expensive to buy new.
I didn’t know Walter was Andrew’s son!
😱😵😱😵😱
I just realized it about 3 weeks ago.
Oh that daisy domed cake plate! Hope it’s not too much to ship. 🎂

@@kungazopa2831. I never would have guessed the domed plate was for cheese! Thanks for your info!

Loved the Vintage Ladies In the frames ❤️ My fav was the one with the hat. Liked the Mexico art dog.
Great finds. I think that Detecto scale is fabulous!

Hey there - bougie is not only short for bourgeoisie. It's French for candle. Keep on thrifting!!! PS - those framed pieces...I love them!!!
Well then, it's a bougie bougie!
@@jmcosmos Beyonce may beg to differ. ;)

❤
I'm watching older videos and enjoying them
That shade was beautiful, but wait, did Andrew win on his scratch tickets? Lol
Awesome!!! I’m from West Virginia!! (Mrs. 2 the geek dad)
YAY! Find something good!
Same! I see lots from WV in the comments of reseller videos. It always surprises me.

I love you called yourself the CLL, it’s been a minute! “Well the crazy lamp lady noticed!”
Some Goodwills have Christmas items all year long. The one in my neighborhood does.

Tuesdays chid is full of grace.. its a nursery rhyme..
I just sold the picture of the girl in the barn you showed. Frame and all.. it is a popular print.

Japanese tea cups like that without a handle don't come with saucers. Just a little FYI. Please please please list that blue lamp shade!

That black egg looked Russian. High retail value if it was. Hard to tell from so far away.
At 9:09 the lighthouse painting looks like a Karl Neumann , they can be quite valuable
Those textured beer mugs looked like Littala glass from Finland!

It was windy here as well. Live my morning coffee with you
The tjmaxx sells those DW candles. I love them and buy them all the time. The smells are always amazing.

What happened to all the easter items you bought a while back? (A couple of months ago?) Were they listed at the time?
