Thank you so much for this video... I'm an incoming Ms Biology Student in IISER Tvm and found this video to be very useful, since it's my first hostel journey...it will be very helpful if you make videos about the rooms given and the food in the mess and the restaurants inside ❤️😇
I am glad it helped. On my channel there is a video called iiser empty room tour. However, MS boys get rooms which look a little different. But you will get an idea of storage and plug points and balcony etc from above video.
A lot of videos are in the pipeline. But due to the busy schedule they might come in August.

@@madhuresearch didi can you tell wether int phd freshers will have one month holiday in December?
Int PhD students are allowed to take 30 days leave in a year (Aug 22 to July 23). So, if you want you can take 30 days leave in December but then you can't take leave till August.
So, we mostly take 15 days leave in December and again 15 days leave in June.

You can go to city. There are buses from iiser to city and back every weekend. You can also ask the medical center in iiser to bring the medicines for you from the city as they travel daily to iiser from city.
Electrical appliances are allowed like kettle or iron??

Directly come to IISER. Iiser anyway is very far away from the airport and railway station as well

Do we need to pack mostly warm clothes if it rains all the time? What is the average temperature like? and is it very difficult to dry clothes since I don't see the sun in any of the iiser tvm campus pictures so I'm assuming it's cloudy all the time. thanks in advance!
Just keep in mind I made the video more than a year ago. Now I have heard that weather has changed quite a lot. It does not rain as much. However even when it used to rain it wasn’t cold. You need light jacket for ac during the lectures as lecture room often gets very chilly. 🥶 Average temperature 20-27. It used to get hot and humid between April-June. Pack T-shirt’s and jackets. Basically keep layers. Instead of sweaters, keep jackets which you can remove while walking from your hostel room to lecture room. You will be walking a lot.

I don't think there is going to be geyser in the hostel, should we take an immersion rod for warm bathing water?
Yes. That would be a good purchase. Iiser does have solar geyser facilities but I should not rely on that in case you have classes in morning.
Do mess provide North Indian food? Or only South Indian
Mixed..Food is good here. Don't worry.

Are there LAN ports in the hostel rooms?
I am a incoming physics PhD student, and also about the no. of students per room?
2 students for the first two years, after that a single room. Yes, they were installing lan cables in each room when I was leaving IISER. Some hostels have it and some are under process.
But each hostel has a wifi facility which was not the best that is the reason they are now installing Lans.
Do hostels in IISER TVM have laundry facilities like washing machines??/
Yes. They have on payment basis. 50 rupees per wash.

I'm an incoming student at IISER TVM for MS PHYSIC. Thankyou so much for this vedio. You have made at the most appropriate time. Is there paid clothes washing/ washerman or washing machines available in IISER TVM. And if we order food from outside via swiggy or Zomato then it is allowed in campus?

I completed my 12th in 2011 and moved to Raipur for Bsc. Since then I have lived in hostels.

Yes. On a paying basis.

You won't need a mosquito net. Bedding you have to buy and it is available inside the campus.

IISER's cutoff will be out soon. Based on 2021 IAT predictions minimum score to get any iiser by last counseling round for OBC -NCL category is 55-60. Cut off predictions according to iiser for OBC category is as follows:
1. Pune 80-85
2. Kolkata 75-80
3. Bhopal 62-67
4. Mohali 62-67
5. TVM 60-65
6. Tirupati 58-62
7. Berhampur 55-60

Yes. I have it. No problem. However, as I mentioned Induction is not allowed.
