As someone who grew up in church, the comment about making divorce seem like a bad thing and a more "sinful" option causing people to stay in bad/toxic/abusive relationships? Yeah, that is 100% accurate.
I never understood why is divorce such a bad thing. The mom seemed happier in this "bad" reality. I got divorced from my husband mostly because it was an unstable relationship. I was willing to go to marriage counseling at this one church we were going to. He didn't want to go so I divorced him. Now that I think about it I believe it was better off that we didn't go to counseling because the pastor there would probably blame me for our problems!
@@melissacooper8724 not to sound too conspiracy-brained, but I have to wonder if it’s not stemmed from some need to keep women in awful situations like adultery or abuse. in ye olden days, men were allowed to do pretty much anything in the confines of a marriage, but if a woman cheated or left, she was societally outcast or worse, killed. I don’t even think it’s a thing most super religious people think about in these terms though, it’s just what they were taught from day one. That’s how it was for me.
@CrystalJupiter You have a point there. I remember in the Wonderful Life movie that Mary, in the alternate reality, was an old maid because George Bailey had never been born. In the original short story, she was in an abusive marriage with another man. So I guess it's you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.

Christianity is the truth as biblical archaeology proves the truth of God's word like the Tel Dan stele that mentions The House of David or the Seal of Isaiah being found or Caiaphas bone box or the cyrus cilinder or the pontius pilate stone or the Shroud of Turin that has three D information on it, plus over 270 legends worldwide of a global flood and a boat full of people and the fossil record is proof of a global flood
That really depends on who you ask. There are dozens and dozens and dozens of factions of Christianity. Search hard enough and you can find one that says pretty much whatever you want. The adorable thing is, though, that each faction thinks it's 100% correct.
I saw most of that movie, and what I hated about it was the fact that the adults in Jeff's life ruined him! At the beginning of the film, Jeff is your normal average teenager who likes to listen to rock music. His parents hate the music and are constantly on his back about it! At the end of the movie, Jeff became an obnoxious zealot who thinks that all rock music is evil! His 180 change drove away all his friends!
As a boomer, I hate all this "boomer" stuff. Us boomers had Woodstock, equal rights riots, women's rights including women being allowed to have credit cards in the US. Roe v Wade. We aren't just a bunch of crotchety old people. Not that I did most of those things because I was born in the last years

Good review. The caricatures of Christianity is a bit over the top but overall, its further illustrates that Christian media has sucked for quite some time because it suffers from the preachy aspect of the message (lots of it seems comes from a particular sect of Christianity known as the Independent Fundamental Baptists) rather than just telling a good story. As for weed being bad, that's not a reason why Christians think it is bad. It is understandable given the context of the video that there's not much knowledge regarding scriptures. The "understanding of life from a music video" hits the nose as the reviewer's knowledge of Christianity is colored exactly the same way. The irony.
If you can't quote a Bible verse about smoking being bad, you're adding it taking away from scripture by making this claim and I know what the Bible says about that.
@@philzeo That is only so if you have a presupposition about what my Christian beliefs are (namely, sola scriptura which is unbiblical in and of itself). It isn't nearly robust enough to make such powerful claims and often self-defeating which is why it is easily attacked. In reference to when your talking about weed restrictions not being biblically accurate at about ~8:50.
