Waheed Murad was considered a "Hero". But Nadeem Baig is an actor. An actor is someone you can fit into any role. Not just play a hero. Waheed Murad destroyed his career with Liquor and not wanting to take roles of other than a hero, and unfortunately that was the reason for his zawaal. Nadeem Baig decided to stay away from such involvements and took roles of father, brother and even second lead. It kept his career floating.
