Never mind the Gerrard slip, that was just a moment, that can happen, but this game was a travesty, we should have won this game by a hatful!...but we didn't, that's football! 😄😄
Can somebody tell me if Liverpool had won this game, would have won the Premier league too? Was this game towards the end of the season? I always thought the Slip against Chelsea was the main reason they lost that year?
No idea why the guy above has a couple of likes when he's wrong and doesn't even make any sense. Here are the actual stats. Before this game (Monday 5th May 2014) Man City - 37GP - 63GD - 83 PTS Liverpool - 36GP - 50GD - 80 PTS After this game Man City - 37GP - 63GD - 83 PTS Liverpool - 37GP - 50GD - 81 PTS So Liverpool still had a chance, but Rodgers conceded after this game that City had won the league. City only needed a draw in their last game (they won 2-0 against West Ham at home in the end anyway). th-cam.com/video/B91eViTE05o/w-d-xo.html So we were in the fight for the title even going into the last game of the season. The mathematical advantage however was certainly lost at Chelsea though as Liverpool were in control at that point. It's also easy for opposition fans to pin that entirely on Gerrard slipping. At least Gerrard's slip was at 0-0 and only gave Chelsea a 1 goal advantage at the time. We choked a 3-0 lead in this game against poor opposition. City capitilised on all these mistakes and were deserved winners.
@@HullzOSRS Nothing comes close to the 1988/89 bottling of the title. Then we repeated that again after exactly 30 years (2018/19) where we lost by 1 point, then 3 years later did the same thing again and lost by 1 point. It's insane how we would have won the 1988/89, 2013/2014, 2018/19 & 2021/22 titles if we scored literally 1 goal in all 4 seasons, just 1 goal in a game where we drew. City won 6 titles, 4 of them they won by literally 0-2 point difference. 2011/12 where they had the same exact points as United and 2013/14, 2018/19 & 2021/22 where they won 1-2 points ahead of Liverpool.
This was game 37 and city was leading league by 2 points

Poor Gerrard slipped again by taking off attacking players and going too defensive in the final game lol.
Yeah, sometimes football make an historical meme too 😂

Yeah they would have. They blame this on gerrard slip while they actually lost 2-0 to Chelsea not 1-0.

both games mattered... the chelsea game and this one, this was the second last game of the season for both teams
