The only other instance we’ve seen that is with Isshin in Sekiro. And just like with Radahn, that man is a MENACE. And he wasn’t even a god. He was just a master swordsman
I mean, Malenia and Godfrey are both peak when you fight them. Malenia especially considering she goes full godhood in the fight. Godfrey also got stronger in the badlands, though I guess you could argue if you wanted that he was stronger when he was being amped by the elden ring when brandishing it, but that's an assumption. Godwyn, (previously) Radahn, Marika, and Maliketh would be your "I wish to make a chalk outline like a snow angel" list of prime ER characters we didn't see.
Malenia is actually at her strongest when we fight her. Godfrey is arguably too since he trained in the Badlands before his revival by Marika and all the other Tarnished
I think Malenia and Godfrey are at their primes and then some when we face them. They both face us and then reveal their hidden power in their second phases to face us.
For anyone who is curious about the grab, the first hit of it charms the player which does nothing on its own but if you are hit by the grab while charmed it is an instant kill, and the only way to remove charm is using miquellas great rune that is dropped by the scadutree avatar
Like with Bayle and Igon, Leda's fight is one of those you summon for if only for the feel of it. It feels like two armies fighting, one protecting Miquella and the other opposing him. It also feels like I've earned it, having Thiollier and Ansbach at my side. I did their damn quests, so this is my due payment!
I can say with absolute certainty that Radahn, Consort of Miquella, is one of the hardest challenges I have ever done in my life. I don’t think it’s a bad fight at all, it’s fucking awesome, but holy fucking shit what a heart pounder of a fight.
My hands were shakin and I realize after hours fighting Radahn, I smiled so big that I question myself "am I enjoying this?" to which that I say yes I really do

I've seen theories that the Putrescent Knight is actually what was left of Leonard, turned into putrescence. The body of the knight is made from the horse's skeleton and it rides its skin. It's also kind of fitting then, that it would be with St Trina.
The NPC war is by far one of my favorite fights and will be a major reason for me to do thiolleir's and ansbach's quests. It was a melting pot of emotion the first time fighting and defeating Leda and the rest. A master-class battle.
The excitement you guys showed during the Radahn fight is exactly how it was for me every one of my dozens of tries. It's exactly what I wanted. That's how you fight a god. I'm so sad so many people couldn't accept the difficulty and don't like it for the hype it was.

I honestly believe Aylia had accidentally found one of, if not most, powerful weapon in the entire DLC. Euporia is insane to use. Radahn-Miquella fight was absurd.
Malenia whispering something into Radahn's ear before unleashing the scarlet rot was in the original game/trailer ... and we finally get to know what she told him and why they were fighting to begin with .. so to say there is nothing in the main game leading to this is not entirely true.
And now that the brunt of the expansion is over, we can now move onto bigger and better things..... LIKE A DOCUMENTARY ON WHETHER THINGS ARE FISH OR NOT FISH.

I mean to make such a small detail into such a big thing is still the definition of strecthing even if totally planned out. Foreshadowing requires a shadow and not the speck of nothing. It also hurts because there is plenty still introduced by the dlc which there is no answer for. Godwyn the golden buried underneath the trees has a special order of death knights the most loyal who have nothing to do with him. The crucible feels like at one point it was a huge deal of not the main part 1 crux of the dlc and we get nothing aside messmer having killed all of it or something. The chalice being gaurded by commander boar rider has nothing to do despite it obviously being there to burn the shadow tree. Like I'm glad radhan is here but it feels it weighted out many frankly more interesting things.
@@christianlangdon3766 I get where you're coming from, but that detail in the trailer was enough for me to have had theory conversations about that whisper on multiple occasions with different people, and I've seen other people doing the same online And yeah it is frustrating when a compelling part of the narrative gets little attention and lacks an explanation, but that's par for the course in these games at this point, there are always details about something old that we don't get as much info on as we would like But that's kind of the point, all of this happened aeons ago, knowing absolutely everything would be a lot weirder than having large gaps in information, even without Marika staging a genocide to bury the old order

It feels like the dlc tried to wrap a pretty bow on things vs actually build a world. It's the reason why I feel mesmer feels so much more better than everything because he is the only character with a nearly truly self contained story. That doesn't feel like it has more to say about the base game.

I actually really love the Divine Beast Warrior Helmet & Armor can combine it with the horned warrior gauntlets & greaves. I’ve learned, after 1 solid day of farm them, they only drop the head & chest pieces They still look sick as hell tho
I had a realisation when I was playing through the base game again yesterday. You can judge something's importance by the attention it's given, and there's only one boss in the base game that has not just a cut scene, but a fully narrated, BACKSTORY cut scene. Radahn. Not Godwyn, RADAHN.
the thing about the radahn fight being a fan service or not, makes sense but they did a very cool correction, in the new radan armor it says something about the fist elden ring cenematic, the frase that malenia say to him when she did blossom, and i thing is one of the best things the dlc did
ARE YOU READY TO HAVE YOUR MIND BLOWN? No really, here is a funny thing no one brings up, so would love to see you guys do a vid on this. The Radahn you face at the end of the DLC is not the strongest incarnation of Radahn, just the strongest we can face in game. The strongest version of Radahn would be the one who faced and curb-stomped Malenia before he was infected with Scarlot Rot. This guy had Malenia literally disarmed and showed no signs of effort or damage from the battle. He would have all of his faculties, swordmanship skills, archery skills, and formidable Gravity magic at full access. Imagine the skillful swordsmanship of Consort Radahn with the increased power and experience of older Radagn, as well as the full potential of his Gravity magic. Both Radahn's you face in game are mentally reduced: one mind-screwed and not in his own body, and other feral. Fear the idea of O.G. Radahn, no handicaps!
Wait, ive been rewatching these, Miquella refered to Godwyn as Lord Brother and as he said "My Lord Brother's soul will return" this was just a step to bring Godwyn'd soul back it seems. Scratch that, forget what I said.
All I have to say is, it's no wonder Malenia had to use the Scarlet Rot if Radahn was like that. I also have to say I did like how all the NPCs essentially had to pick a side at the end because some were all for Miquella and some weren't.
Because the casting speed buff hard caps at 70 Dex (the soft cap is 40), and beloved stardust also increases your damage taken by 30% so radagons icon is better.
im sure you know this by now but the thorn wall big stupid damage trick was done by aiming at the ground or at the sky when casting it it was a bug i am unsure i it has been patched at this current time
This boss was hands down the hardest which makes sense as the final boss. To give an idea of how big of a difficulty spike this fight is: I went through the first 3rd of the game without any scadutree blessings till I got to Bayle. Then I went through another 3rd of the game till Midra and decided to get a second blessing up. Did the rest of the game till this fight without any more blessing increases, but this guy made me raise my blessing level to 6 by the end. The guy had 4 whole upgrades to himself. I like the fight overall though. Phase 1 is amazing with a battle of strength and skill against prime unrotten Radahn. Phase 2 is definitely a bit iffy on execution. Lot of visual noise to process, but the spectacle was appropriate.
@@knightmare3197 Oh yeah he's a hectic fight. Black steel greatshield was my saving grace. Used Milady as my main weapon, no shield poking for me. Lost count of the attempts it took me though.
Promised Consort Radahn is honestly kind of ridiculous. I love him, don’t get me wrong, but no other boss has forced me to switch weapons twice and completely rethink my strategy. I had to have full scadutree blessing, a fully upgraded rusty anchor, and a mimic tear to beat him
It took me a bit to realize that the dancing lion is basically like the cleric beast from bloodborne the first boss is optional but realize easy to find like dispite being optional the game hints in its direction Also I wanted to see the reaction to getting grabbed twice by the final boss too bad it didn't happen
The horror I felt when I heard Radahn was the final boss and his boss battle was one I struggled with the most in the base game and they made it harder! I rather of taken on two Malenia at once.

yeah, kind of a shame that's all the great rune is for. The grab is a very easy to avoid attack so it makes the item a bit...... unnecessary.

I had a realisation when I was playing through the base game again yesterday. You can judge something's importance by the attention it's given, and there's only one boss in the base game that has not just a cut scene, but a fully narrated, BACKSTORY cut scene. Radahn. Not Godwyn, RADAHN.

the thing about the radahn fight being a fan service or not, makes sense but they did a very cool correction, in the new radan armor it says something about the fist elden ring cenematic, the frase that malenia say to him when she did blossom, and i thing is one of the best things the dlc did
ARE YOU READY TO HAVE YOUR MIND BLOWN? No really, here is a funny thing no one brings up, so would love to see you guys do a vid on this. The Radahn you face at the end of the DLC is not the strongest incarnation of Radahn, just the strongest we can face in game. The strongest version of Radahn would be the one who faced and curb-stomped Malenia before he was infected with Scarlot Rot. This guy had Malenia literally disarmed and showed no signs of effort or damage from the battle. He would have all of his faculties, swordmanship skills, archery skills, and formidable Gravity magic at full access. Imagine the skillful swordsmanship of Consort Radahn with the increased power and experience of older Radagn, as well as the full potential of his Gravity magic. Both Radahn's you face in game are mentally reduced: one mind-screwed and not in his own body, and other feral. Fear the idea of O.G. Radahn, no handicaps!

All I have to say is, it's no wonder Malenia had to use the Scarlet Rot if Radahn was like that. I also have to say I did like how all the NPCs essentially had to pick a side at the end because some were all for Miquella and some weren't.
14:58 why is Josh using the Radagon Icon, which is only +30 virtual dex, rather that the Beloved Stardust, which is +99 virtual dex?
Because the casting speed buff hard caps at 70 Dex (the soft cap is 40), and beloved stardust also increases your damage taken by 30% so radagons icon is better.
you could have use deathblight spells on the gank fight
im sure you know this by now but the thorn wall big stupid damage trick was done by aiming at the ground or at the sky when casting it

This boss was hands down the hardest which makes sense as the final boss. To give an idea of how big of a difficulty spike this fight is: I went through the first 3rd of the game without any scadutree blessings till I got to Bayle. Then I went through another 3rd of the game till Midra and decided to get a second blessing up. Did the rest of the game till this fight without any more blessing increases, but this guy made me raise my blessing level to 6 by the end. The guy had 4 whole upgrades to himself.
I like the fight overall though. Phase 1 is amazing with a battle of strength and skill against prime unrotten Radahn. Phase 2 is definitely a bit iffy on execution. Lot of visual noise to process, but the spectacle was appropriate.
You fought him at Scadutree SIX?! I'm at 10 and 11 on 2 different characters and he's still kicking my teeth in.
@@knightmare3197 Oh yeah he's a hectic fight. Black steel greatshield was my saving grace. Used Milady as my main weapon, no shield poking for me. Lost count of the attempts it took me though.

Promised Consort Radahn is honestly kind of ridiculous. I love him, don’t get me wrong, but no other boss has forced me to switch weapons twice and completely rethink my strategy. I had to have full scadutree blessing, a fully upgraded rusty anchor, and a mimic tear to beat him

For those whom doesnt know. If you get grabbed twice in his second phase. Not only will yu die, but also be posses, and also grant a emote
Holy shit that fight was killer. I've loved watching you guys play the dlc. Maybe now they can go back to plaworld and do the sakurajima update.
It took me a bit to realize that the dancing lion is basically like the cleric beast from bloodborne the first boss is optional but realize easy to find like dispite being optional the game hints in its direction
Also I wanted to see the reaction to getting grabbed twice by the final boss too bad it didn't happen

The horror I felt when I heard Radahn was the final boss and his boss battle was one I struggled with the most in the base game and they made it harder! I rather of taken on two Malenia at once.

They missed parts of leda and hornsents quests, but they'll get them in other playthroughs I'm sure
