CRV gets better mileage, has more comfy seats, sunroof in front, and optional seat heaters. That being said, I'd take the toaster 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.
Element is a unicorn (rare, gets more looks and compliments) Has more space, reclining rear seats and insane legroom. Can hold your bicycles and you can camp inside. And has the same awd system and K24 engine as the CRV which is super reliable and can last 900k km. Idk why people think owning the same car as everyone else is cool. Literally everyone has a CRV. It's like a glitch seeing 5 CRVs in a row within 1 minute in traffic.
I abuse my Element like a truck, and it gets the job done and more. It hauls stuff in the back a CR-V could never. I love my Element. 2005 192,000 miles with very few problems. Great vehicles. They're are also surprisingly great offroad, amazing AWD systems.
I use mine like a truck too. I took the seats out for extra space. Here's a video of my mods if your interested. th-cam.com/video/QS8iLsbOhKI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=GregoryPalmer
The Element ALSO has the spare tire cover that comes out and turns into a table (with attachment) AND the center hole can be removed for a sun umbrella) The back of the seats also UNZIPS for extra storage!! ELEMENT hands down
for everyday use with passengers, the CRV might be the better option. the element is good for long trips and when not having to use the rear doors so much. i chose the element because it feels more solid and stable on the road compared to the CRV
I’ve had both! I love them both! I’ve had two 2003 Elements and just traded my beloved 2012 CR-V for a 2011 Element (we have 4 dogs). You can’t go wrong with either. The 2012 CR-V was a bit too plush for our needs (carpet everywhere, even had a video player! 😳). Both of my 2003 Elements were repeatedly hit from the left which eventually totaled them 😓, but the 2011 fixed some of the idiosyncrasies of the 2003s.
I have been going back & forth between the two. The element has a few features I like better because of the seats in the back & easy removal. But I believe it will be easier to find parts for the CRV
I think parts are available forth but if your leaning towards the CRV I'm very partial to the 2006. If you can find one that's has been well maintained you can't go wrong. I wish I still had my 06 CRV great, great, car!!!
The Element engine is a beast! It can last a very long time… mine has 300,000 miles and it is still running good. Of course you have to fix a little here and there ..
1st gen CRV > Element > 2nd gen CRV > Every other CRV. Why? You can get a manual 4wd until 2006. The 1st gen CRV have double wishbone and can actually handle unlike the later CRV or Elements.
I would like to ask you, which one of those cars makes you feel when you sitting inside that you are high up off the ground and having lots of room while you driving it?
The Element is timeless and the CRV is much more popular. I have the Element 03 with 181k. I got it on my birthday in 2020 July and got it on the road December 24th. You were a tad biased in your review though.
A lot more if you remove the back seats or the also fold up against the wall. But if you have kids of need a 4 door vehicle the CRV may be the way to go because the Element only has 2 rear seats and the back doors are suicide doors so not as easy to get in and out. Hope that helps
Gregory, thank You for this great video. I'm looking to buy an Element and would like to ask you, "is there a lot of difference between the LX and the EX"?
The LX has steel rims and the EX has alloy rims also the EX as more speakers and sub woofer. If I was looking again for one I think I would look for a 2007 or 2008 EX-P. Honda added side airbags, a better seatbelt design, a small increase in horse power better looking grill, updated Gauge cluster. Good luck on your search! Thank you for checking out my videos!
I love the element, the shape is timeless, unlike the CRV.
Agreed, and I believe they are going up in value. Thanks for checking out my video.

Very well said!!! Y are humans so defiant!!
I love my 2004 element!
The Element is the best out of the CRV and Pilot.
The Element is hard to beat!

So true, CRV's are a dine a dozen!
been owning an element for 2 months. I love it
The flat loading floor allowed me to build a platform and live Full Time in my element for a few years Element all day!
Fair enough, another vote for the Element.

I have 353,xxx miles on my 2005 CR-V. I'm the 2nd owner and bought it with 260,000 miles on it 6 years ago. Love the thing. Purrs like a kitten.
Nice, I'm at 198K and counting.
How many transmissions have you guys gone through?
Can't go wrong with either one. Thank you for checking out my video's

Having had both now, the Element is far more fun and inspiring to use and drive. Not even close.
I'm biased being an Element owner but yeah the element any day. It has aged so well. There's nothing out there like it.
This is getting out of hand. The element is running away this!
Chalk up another vote for the Element.
@@gregorypalmer2147 Element for the win 😁👍
Standing next to his grandson, Greg needs to sound impartial, but we know the one he prefers is the one he kept.
Lol! that's funny! but, you are right.

I am Element man!!!
Only thing on Element that is somewhat weird is the passenger doors, but it’s ok.
Agreed, doesn't bother me at all.
I like the element better for my lifestyle . but I’d like to see a combination of both , get the best of both and put it in 1 🤩
I own both so it depends on who you are and what you do. Element is more utilitarian all purpose suv
Both are great.
Iv owned a couple crv’s.
I wont again.
I own a 05 5spd ex element now and god I love it.
I love my 5 speed Element too!
Subbed Greg 👊🏼
I have the same crv 267km. Love it. Crv is a better family car. Element is nice too but easier to get in and out for the back passengers in the crv.
Crv. Easier to work on. Less rusting. Feels like driving a mini land rover/jeep. Has the captains chair feel.
It’s the drive train same I have the crv 03 But Im thinking of getting also a element I need it for Some. Off-road nothing crazy.
I believe they are the same and both come with a manual or automatic transmission.
1st gen CRV > Element > 2nd gen CRV > Every other CRV.

ELEMENT definitely
You just made up my mind!! Thank you
Glad I could help, which one are you going with?
@@gregorypalmer2147 element of course
Have you ever thought about putting a flip up center console like in your cr-v into the element? That’s an idea that has intrigued me recently...
Great idea! I'm going to look into it.
I know they're the same platform, but I don't like the look of the crv
Both are really great cars! thanks for checking out my video!
Augh I wish the element had a 3rd seat somehow. It’s the only thing keeping me from buying it
I would still strongly recommend the 2006 CRV. If you can find a good one buy it!
Crv is the love of my life
Honda Element seats are not comfortable as CR-V. 1 vote for CR-V !
ELEMENT ALLDAY EVERYDAY
The Element is winning the voting about 10 to 1
I would like to ask you, which one of those cars makes you feel when you sitting inside that you are high up off the ground and having lots of room while you driving it?
Probably the CRV. If you can find a 2006 CRV if good condition you can't go wrong it is a great vehicle. Good luck!
the element have the same table in the back ;)
I don't think my Element table came with table legs. I'll have to look.
It didn’t, it was an optional accessory.
With the k-series eng, i go with the Element more space,,,
Another vote for the element. The element is running away with this, probably 10 to1 !
I bought an ‘06 CRV EXL brand new and sold it 5 years later but I totally regretted it. I own an ‘03 Element now
06 was a great year for the CRV. Elements are kind of timeless and have a great cult like following.

Hello Joseph, I really do like them both. the CRV has just been such a great car for us.
heres another element video if your interested th-cam.com/video/y5Pej7nIrBk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=GregoryPalmer

Element 100%
Element is better because it looks like a dumpster with all that trash that you keep in there. !!!!
I guess I had that coming.
but the video was filmed spur of the moment.
I'm planning on getting a 06 CRV for my daughter. My whole family hates my Element they like my Toyota Corolla a lot better believe it or not.
I'm sure the Corolla is a great car but you really can't go wrong with that 06 CRV. That would be my vote.
@@gregorypalmer2147 I finally did get a CRV but a 09. It was an offer I couldn't refuse, a fully loaded EXL at a phenomenal price!
