These videos are how I got into your channel, Georg. Short, sweet. Neither shameless praise, nor 'enlightened' criticism. Your selection is always diverse and interesting, and you don't spoil the experience of watching one of your selections for the first time. I can tell you're having fun making these, and boy-oh-boy, if anyone needs some fun in their life it's you.
Georg I'm so glad this series is continuing for another year. Great video as always. Appreciate the focus on the movie's attention to detail and its efforts to build its tone rather than going with what everyone already knows about the film.
Well i assume most that never watch the movie know the ending already... becaus from simpsons over futurama to southpark. every comedy that jokes about pop culture have atlast make one time a Joke the ending of the movie. its pretty much like planet of the apes( original first one) even thos who never watch it know the ending.
Yeah, but I wondered why the fictional state actually went to that bother and expense when everything else in the society is so broken and cheaped-out... especially for the benefit of someone who's not going to be alive 5 minutes later.
Admittedly, datedness can't be avoided when our ideas of the future are always tied down to what we know in the now. I mean, you think we're still gonna be using flat screens or flat cell phones in the distant future? But as it is said, the ideas are more what matter, and they are still quite relevant even now. I still well remember that simple scene of them having a meal. It was my first time taking in direction that was so...particular in showing an idea.
Nice to see you keeping your proven record of uplifting and joyful stories Georg, also glad to see Hiptang decided to advertise with you again after the... incident.
I LOVE Hiptang season. It really sucks seeing this as a kid, and fearing the possibility of this ever occurring. I recall the jelly scene as if it was yesterday.
The movie isn't a genuine classic, but it is pretty solid all the same. Heston pulls off another unsympathetic everyman performance for a character who we eventually do sympathise with.
Soylent Green works as a comedy to me. I guess that's largely because of how dated it is with its so deeply 70s attitudes and aesthetics but also because when I finally saw it the first time, I had seen its greatest hits being parodied to death in other stuff like The Simpsons. So, when I finally saw it, I was laughing constantly for almost every scene in it. "Soylent Green is made of people."
I was recently hospitalized for a serve Hiptang! deficiency. Hiptang! brand Soylent Green brought me back from the brink of death. It's delicious, nutritious, and locally sourced from 100% fresh organic recycling vat goo.
It‘s that time of the hiptang again
I've missed hiptang.
This is my favourite time of hiptang.
Hiptang is people!
The knock-off Hiptang sold by Temu contains lead. And people.
For the people by the people!
@@AldousShitbird ... of the people!
Tasty tasty people....
"There's already a soda like that."
"Oh. What is it?"
"Soylent Cola."
"Is it any good?"
"It varies from person to person."
*Party on dudes*
double georg! it's a christmas miracle
Oh fuck yeah!
This is one of my favorite series you do.
One of the great last lines in movie history:
"Soylent Green is delicious!!"
"Soylent Green is people's favorite!"

Finally, its Hiptangmas, the only part of the Holidays that means anything to me.
Didn’t realize how much I missed Hiptang. And the 12 days of Christmas

"Make room, make room" is a great book. Well worth the read.
Hiptang is the new black salve! It's a _miracle_ folks!
I thought we couldn't have those anymore?
Glad there's no mention of the ending. If you don't already know it, you need to see it.

My guess for tomorrow's film is 'When The Wind Blows', the kind of cheery xmas fare Georg loves to peddle.
It was already featured on this series 6 years ago actually!
That dinner scene is one of the most sobering things I have seen in a movie.
No spoilers:
Soylent green, what's up with that?
Thank you for watching!
The euthanasia scene is still eerily unsettling and weirdly beautiful today

Nothing better than a 60 yr old film about the near future dystopia. Retro black mirrror

Excellent, so glad to have the 12 days of Xmas back.

Soylent Grün ist Menschen!
Getting my yearly dozen-dose of hiptang

Xmas and Soylent Green together in a video title was not on my bingo card
We can probably stop the "Bingo card" meme.
@tph2010 But it's Christmas
@@CaptainSwiss94 This has got to be the last time. Promise you'll stop.
@@Drewsel You know in the moment I mean it when I say I Will stop. But it's a compulsion
Hiptang season always sneaks up on me.

Hiptang and Soylent Green: the PBnJ of the future.
[Cracks open a suspiciously warm jar of Hiptang]
hiptang looking good right now...
Make Room! Make Room! is brilliant, but the death of Sol is so impactful in the film.
"You gotta tell 'em. Soylent Green is Pea Pill."
Oh, that's not too bad then.
youtube gave me an ad for a Bible with Gustav Dore's illustrations and I couldn't tell if it was another satirical ad. What you need? A Bible.
I can smell the Hiptang in the air!
I will consider Soylent Green.
I just rewatched the wind rises the other day. So I will recommend that one back. 🙂
Got a temu ad under this
Merry Hiptang!
😮 Hiptang!!!!
ITS TANGING TIME!
I start off every morning with a tall glass of Hiptang and a hot bowl of Beans, it's the breakfast of Champions! 💪

Deck the halls with boughs of Hiptang
Spare a little Hiptang, guv'nor, it is xmas... Collecting for a friend.

Soylent Green is set in the year 2021.
Was gonna "F" in chat, but didn't want an airstrike... whew!
Hiptang is something that Temu wants to resell!
It's the most

It's not, crime is at an all-time low in NYC
@tph2010 okay, but just don't choke me out on the subway, lol
Smell-O-Vision was made for this movie. The sweat, grime and hot garbage, oh boy!
