Great video..I was raised in GREENVILLE and I can remember a lot of times we would get more snow in Greenville then caribou and RANGLY WOULD GET MORE THEN ALL OFF US..I LOVE WINTER AND SNOW..I HOPE WE ACTUALLY GET A GOOD OLE FASHIONED MAINE WINTER..
dude/Jason - that is amazing analysis... great explanation, articulation and storytelling about our weather in NE and Maine. you love your job and the weather. love the long form too.
so, slightly confused... you started out talking about November... so your guesstimated "Totals" in feet I'm praying are for the whole winter and not just November?😱
Lots of words.... I guess I can't complain. Nobody in NE should predict past a day and a half. All I know is we should build a wall between the US and Canada. Keep the cold air out.
@@joeb2588 Me too but just enough snow and cold to kill off ticks and protect orchards and other crops. We had almost no stone fruit ( peaches etc) because of almost no snow and that brutal cold for a few days in early February.
Also, take in to account that the Sun is going into a Grand Solar Minimum which means the Sun pumping out far less solar radiation, increased cosmic ray flux, and a more powerful Albedo Effect.
Thank you Jason. As someone that has lived all over the state of Maine and travels throughout the state often, I really appreciate that you not only cover the entire state, but also that you have taken the time to learn the topography and various names that we call the different areas of our vast state. On top of that your passion for the weather shines through and teaches us listeners how the weather works. I appreciate you! ❤
Pretty confused about the whole thing. I guess I'll know when it's snowing , when I see it's snowing. A lot of weather forecasters can't even forecast the weather 2 days in advance never mind for a whole season
I got something I’ve been wondering for about 35 years. Mercer, I know it’s not mountains. Yet we always seem to be above the snowfall compared to Smithfield norridgewock Skowhegan areas. I’ve seen many many big storms that we were 4-6 inches more then the above towns. Are we foothills?? What is it about our location that always seems to boost our totals??
For the Belfast area typically it's snow on the onset and a 50 percent chance of mixed precipitation at the tail end of the event, however many of the low pressure systems are inside runners which is snow in the north and mountains and central plains rain along the coast unless the low tracks to the east of us then its snow.this is usually been our winter pattern for this area.
I think . . . above average precip . . . unfortunately inland snow will be mostly of the heavy wet variety (Sierra Cement) Skiers and boarders should wait for groomers to do their job after such storms ! Thanks for sharing . . .
Portland hardly gets the snow we do an hour or more away from Portland! Portland weather isn't really what the rest of Maine gets. If you want to experience real Maine, get out of Portland. :D
Seems like you were always positioned in front of Philadelphia and environs coloration. I was kinda tilting my body to the left or the right, to move you one way or the other. That strategy proved to have about to same success rate as it does on Sundays during football season. Thanks anyway though, maybe future forecasts will be a bit clearer.

I want a cold winter to freeze up the ticks. I am down to shovel thirty feet of snow for the workout.
Thanks for keeping it straight forward and simple with no drama and hype!
sure thing
Thank You, Jason.
Sure ❤
PHEW - that was ALOT of info🥴😬🤣😆😂😂🤦🏻♀️ ( I’ll just keep my boots handy as always👍)
yes, lots to cover
you have the right feel for TH-cam.

Great oversight.

it's for the whole Winter, November is just in a few days is all
Yeah he lost me there too.

Looks like a wall is already there. Every thing seems to stop at the Maine - New Brunswick border.
@ericripley9739 man, would I love a warm, not a lot of snow winter.
@@joeb2588 Me too but just enough snow and cold to kill off ticks and protect orchards and other crops. We had almost no stone fruit ( peaches etc) because of almost no snow and that brutal cold for a few days in early February.
Meant to mention, I am in Nova Scotia.
@ericripley9739 ugh. Yah, maybe a couple inches on Christmas....and that's it!
You guys do a great job with the long-form weather content - stuff you can't really fit within a normal newscast. Thank you!
thank you. it took me months to put this together. lots of research. happy to do it for you
Expand to cover Vermont too…
Thanks

doing my best. Thank you so much! it's a big state, plus NH and our friends in Canada, too
Can’t wait for a real nor’easter. Bring us 24”+ storm please
Fun 🎉
So are you predicting a strong or neutral el nino for this year? Thanks!
not a strong one. closer to neutral
So then, lots of Nor’easter’s coming our way here in the white mountains. Let it snow ❄️
My brain was actually melting waiting for this dude to make a cogent point…
I have literally no idea what he actually predicted!!
thank you
Ditto @verne5
Thanks Jason, appreciate the info. I assume we will get quite a bit of snow in the South and West Paris areas this coming winter then.
oh yeah!
Interesting... great job Jason. Thanks for breaking things down into layman terms that make it easier to understand.
doing my best, thank you
Excellent! Great prediction and analysis Jason.
thank you so much !
Throw a dart😂
i'd still miss
I want a bunch of snow down east please!
perhaps
Think it was back in 2015, we got like 76 inches in 10 days, and a total of 82 inches for February, I want that again. 🤷🏽♂️🤣
awesome@@truthhurts3524

The more, the better.

yes plenty of inland runners are coming
🗣I WANT BLIZZARDS FOR THE OHIO VALLEY!!
wow
Thank you! Looking forward to a great ice climbing season! After last year, we need it! 👍🏻👍🏻
sure do!
Will we get a lot of snow in the Rumford area?
yes
I heard that the conditions will be ideal for another ice storm in Montreal. Similar to the 1998 ice storm. Is this a possibility this winter ?
yes it is
I live in portland i Hope we possibly get some snow
you will
Can you adjust the maps so the ski mountains get snow but the roads don’t? Thanks
Dude, as a former New Englander now 40 years in California lay off the shoulder pads on the suit
But there are no pads in my suit and I haven’t been to the gym in ages
Too technical still don't know what to expect
thank you
@@JasonNappiWeather you are welcome! I will still watch you 🙂

Thanks Jason🌟
sure thing :)
Did he explain why he featured 2009-2010?
yes, it's an analog for the current teleconnections setup this year
Many thanks. Carry on!
Great reporting. ✨
thank you

portland and Bangor get nearly the same annual avg snow
How would you know
thanks
and just like that, the third leg of every male snowmobiler in maine has just doubled
Thank you for deleting my comment on geoengineering. Now I am certain of what I always suspected Google is in on it too
Unlikely it was deleted. More likely it was hidden by TH-cam auto moderation
Warm and rainy, unfortunately
Make it snow!

Should start with the forecast followed by the reasons for the forecast. I'm outta here.
thank you
I really want to tickle that weather bbbooooiii
oh
That was a confusing forecast....👎👎👎
Thank you
Too much about maine
